A control device includes a setting unit, an accumulation unit, a registration unit, and a selecting unit. The setting unit sets image data expressing an image including a first layer corresponding to a foreground-operating application and a second layer located in front of the first layer in a viewing direction. The accumulation unit accumulates information related to a screen corresponding to the second layer requested for display from an application and for which the display is not completed. The registration unit registers, for each application, a rule to be applied when selecting any of screens corresponding to the accumulated information. The selecting unit selects a screen corresponding to the second layer in accordance with the rule of the foreground-operating application among the registered rules if display of the screen corresponding to the second layer is requested from an application and that commands the setting unit to set selected-screen-containing image data.

An image processing apparatus, including a display, a memory, and a controller, to provide a plurality of functions is provided. The controller controls the display to display one of a first screen, through which one of the plurality of functions is selectable; a second screen, through which one of a plurality of options for the selected function is selectable; and a third screen, through which selection of the one of the plurality of options is indicated. When the controller reads shortcut information that indicates a first option for a selected one of the functions, and when the first option is permitted to the user, the third screen is displayed. When the first option is not permitted to the user, and if there is a second option permitted to the user, the second screen is displayed.

A method of managing an image forming apparatus through a network, the method including: logging in to a server through a diagnostic control unit application from a user terminal; receiving, by the user terminal, device information of an image forming apparatus from the image forming apparatus; requesting for and receiving, by the user terminal, diagnostic control unit information corresponding to the received device information from the server; performing a diagnostic control on the image forming apparatus through the diagnostic control unit application by using the received diagnostic control unit information; and uploading results of performing the diagnostic control on the server.
Composite apparatus
A composite apparatus includes: a first apparatus and a second apparatus that operate independently; and a console display that is shared by the first and second apparatus. The first and second apparatus each includes: a display memory that stores display data; and a drawing processor that instructs the console display to display the display data. An electronic picture frame and an image display method thereof are provided. In the electronic picture frame, a plurality of images are arranged and displayed on one side of a screen, and among the plurality of images, an image at a particular position is enlarged and displayed.
