Embedded orientation markers for imaging sensors
An imaging sensor includes an imaging array with a plurality of pixels. A sub-set of the pixels are marker pixels configured to each provide a constant respective output value to embed an orientation and alignment marker in images produced with the imaging array. The marker pixels can be sparsely distributed across the imaging array.
IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An object of the present invention is to produce a display in accordance with the type of additional information extracted from captured image data. The present invention is an image processing method including: a selection step of selecting a type of first processing-target information that is embedded in a printing-target image; an embedment step of embedding the first information and second information indicating a type selected at the selection step in the printing-target image; a printing control step of causing a printing apparatus to print the printing-target image in which the first information and the second information are embedded; an acquisition step of acquiring captured image data obtained by capturing printed matter; an extraction step of extracting the first information and the second information based on captured image data; and a processing step of processing the first processing-target information extracted at the extraction step by different processing methods in accordance with the second information.
Image capturing device and method thereof
An image capturing device is provided comprising an image sensor for capturing a first image of a scene, a light source for illuminating the scene with a first flash of coded light, and a network interface for communicating with a communications network and/or a further image capturing device. The device is operative to encode information into the first flash, enabling retrieval of the first image from a first data storage, capture the first image, and store the first image in the first data storage. Optionally, the device may be operative to detect a second flash of coded light emitted by the further image capturing device, decode information enabling retrieval of a second image captured by the further image capturing device from a second data storage, retrieve the second image, and create a 3D model from the first image and the second image.
Data embedding and data extraction in image
According to implementations of the subject matter described herein, there is provided a solution for data embedding and data extraction in images. To perform data embedding, a target region for data embedding is determined from a source image, such as a chart image. Target data to be embedded is converted into a sequence of logical values represented in a predetermined format. Based on the sequence of logical values, image values of one or more image elements in the target region are changed such that the changed image values in the target region can be used to convey the sequence of logical values corresponding to the target data. The variations in image values are within a predetermined range such that no significant data distortion of perception distortion is caused by the data embedding. In a subsequent process, the embedded data can also be easily extracted from the image for use.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RENDERING A SECURE DOCUMENT WITH A TEXT SELECTION CAPABILITY
Systems and methods for rendering a secure document with a text selection capability. The methods comprise: performing first operations, by a computing device, to determine which objects of a source document are non-text objects; creating, by the computing device, an image file representing a graphic consisting of the non-text objects of the source document and a watermark merged together as a single image; drawing the graphic represented by the image file to a base document having a first file format different than a second file format of the source document; and drawing text objects to the base document from the source document so as to create the secure document with the text selection capability.
DEVICE FOR GENERATING A RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION DOCUMENT WITH PHYSICAL AUTHENTICATION MARKERS
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a device that physically imprints a paper resource distribution document for verification and authenticity purposes. In this way, the device links to a user network and associates with resource distributions available for the user. Upon authorization of the user into the device, the device may receive input from a user, including an amount for the paper resource distribution document. Upon receiving the information from the user, the device activates and prints a resource distribution document with at least a portion of the paper resource distribution document printed with dimpled or embossed characters. As such, the dimpled or embossed character recognition at distribution of the resource distribution document confirms the paper resource distribution document's authenticity.

Identifying document forms using digital fingerprints
Techniques are disclosed to identify a form document in an image using a digital fingerprint of the form document. To do so, the image is evaluated to detect features of the image and determine a polygon bounding each feature. For each polygon, pixels are plotted in a second image based on coordinates of a center of the polygon. The second image is the digital fingerprint of the form. To identify the form corresponding to the digital fingerprint, the digital fingerprint may be compared to digital fingerprints of known forms.
Method and device for generating a privatized electronic image for a plurality of electronic documents
A set of electronic documents, such as emails, may include private information. A privatized image is generated to represent the set of electronic documents by identifying probable-pixel and proven-pixel locations within a subset of images. The subset of images is used to create blurred and obfuscated image having the private information distorted.
Method and system for generating electronic documents from paper documents while retaining information from the paper documents
A method for adding electronic properties to an electronic document is provided. The method includes generating the electronic document from a paper document. Content is then identified from the electronic document. An electronic copy of the electronic document is searched using the content. Electronic properties of the content are extracted from the electronic copy and applied to the content of the electronic document.
