A control method for an information processing apparatus, the control method comprising: receiving, from a first external apparatus which belongs to a different subnet of a network than the subnet of the information processing apparatus, specific information for discovering the first external apparatus using a first communication unit; accepting an instruction from a user for searching for external apparatuses; discovering, in response to accepting the instruction and receiving the specific information before accepting the instruction, one or a plurality of external apparatuses by using the specific information, wherein the discovered external apparatuses includes the first external apparatus; displaying a list of information related to the discovered external apparatus(es); and communicating, using a second communication unit, with a selected external apparatus that a user has selected from the list.

A terminal device includes an operation interface, a short-range wireless communication interface, and a processor. The terminal device receives a designating operation of designating a model of an image processing device and a setting operation of setting an execution condition to perform an imaging process. After establishing a short-range wireless communication with the image processing device, the terminal device determines whether a model of the image processing device coincides with a designated model. When the two models coincide with each other, an execution instruction is transmitted to the image processing device.

A function executing device is configured to send a wireless identifier to a communication device via a first type of wireless communication interface for setting up a wireless connection. The function executing device is configured to determine whether the function executing device is in an error state and, if not, to establish the wireless connection via a second type of wireless communication interface. The function executing device operates in a parent state in the wireless connection. Additionally, print data may be received from the communication device. However, if the function executing device is in an error state the wireless connection is not established via the second type of wireless communication interface.

An image forming system includes a mobile terminal apparatus and an image forming apparatus. The mobile terminal apparatus displays a captured image of an operation panel of the image forming apparatus and transmits, in response to a user operation on the captured image, captured image data indicating the captured image and operation position data indicating a position of the user operation to the image forming apparatus. Based on the captured image data and the operation position data received from the mobile terminal apparatus, the image forming apparatus identifies an indirectly operated part of the operation panel, and executes an action corresponding to the identified part.

A multi-function printer is coupled to a mobile device via a proximity network interface. The multi-function printer determines a workflow specified by a user of the mobile device. An ephemeral token associated with the workflow is sent to the mobile user device. The mobile device uses the ephemeral token to create a payment packet that is sent to a payment server which sends a receipt in response thereto. The multi-function printer receives the receipt from the mobile device and in response to receiving the receipt, obtains a list of payments from the payment server. The multi-function printer performs the workflow based on validating the receipt against the list of payments.

A terminal apparatus includes a first wireless communication unit, a second wireless communication unit, and a controller. The first wireless communication unit conducts first wireless communication with a device under a first wireless communication scheme. The second wireless communication unit conducts second wireless communication via an access point. The controller causes a predetermined display unit to display a list of access points which the first wireless communication unit receives from the device. The device acquires the list by searching for the access points. The controller connects the device to an access point selected from the list under a second wireless communication scheme. A method of a terminal apparatus includes displaying, in a case where notification information is received in a state where a predetermined program is not operating in the foreground, a first notification region including a message that is based on message information included in the notification information, and not including information that is based on specific information included in the notification information, on a display unit in a state where the predetermined program is not operating in the foreground.

A printing device has a print unit for printing on roll paper; a wireless communication unit for communicating wirelessly with a paired control device; and a controller for receiving print data by wireless communication from the control device, and controlling the print unit based on the received print data. When changing from a pairing-disabled mode to a pairing-enabled mode, the controller controls the print unit to print pairing-related information on roll paper, does not process pairing in the pairing-disabled mode, and processes pairing when a pairing request is received in the pairing-enabled mode.

An image display system is configured such that an image display device and an image processing device are connected to each other through a network. The image display device is provided with: an instruction information generation unit for generating instruction information pertaining to image-processing to be performed on an image input signal; an image signal transmission unit for transmitting the instruction information to the image processing device; a corrected signal reception unit for receiving a corrected image input signal obtained through image-processing performed by the image processing device on the basis of the instruction information; and a display signal output unit for outputting an image output signal based on the corrected image input signal, to an object where an image is to be displayed. The image processing device receives the image input signal connected through the network and performs image-processing on the image input signal according to the instruction information.

An image processing apparatus includes a search unit that searches a search area, which is a part of a first image extending over two pages included in the first image, for a dividable area, the first image being indicated by first image data and a division unit that generates second image data indicating two second images, each of which corresponds to one of the two pages, by dividing the first image along a dividing line passing through, in a second direction, which is perpendicular to a first direction, the dividable area found by the search unit, the first direction being a direction across the two pages.
