IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING REDUCTION PROCESS TO REDUCE AMOUNT OF SPECIFIC COLOR MATERIAL TO BE USED
In an image processing apparatus a controller acquires target image data representing an image including first and second type of objects. The controller specifies, as a specific type color material, one of first and second type of color materials whose remaining amount is smaller than that of the other, and determines a first reduction index value indicating a first degree of reduction in an amount of the specific type color material for printing the first type of object. The controller creates processed data by performing a reduction process on the target image data to reduce an amount of the specific type of color material for printing the first type of object on the basis of the first reduction index value. An amount of the specific type color material for printing the second type object is not reduced on the basis of the first reduction index value.
Display incorporating dynamic saturation compensating gamut mapping
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for generating images on a display. A multi-primary display can include control logic that converts input image data into the multi-primary color space employed by the display by mapping the input pixel values into the XYZ color space according to a gamut mapping function and then decomposing the XYZ tristimulus values into color subfields associated with the display's primary colors. For example, such a process can be used to covert image frames encoded in an RGB color space into a RGBW color space. In some implementations, the control logic can adapt the gamut mapping and/or the decomposition processes based on a saturation level of the image being processed.
Image processing apparatus, image forming apparatus, image processing method, and non-transitory computer readable medium
An image processing apparatus includes a setting unit that sets a first threshold value serving as a determination criterion as to whether a color difference between a target value of a color and a value indicating a corresponding color of an image formed on a recording medium falls within a permissible range, a deriving unit that derives, using conversion information related to converting a color of an input image into a color of an output image, a second threshold value that serves as a limit of the color difference, an acquisition unit that acquires the color difference when the image is formed on the recording medium using the conversion information, and a notifying unit that, with the color difference acquired by the acquisition unit falling outside the permissible range, changes and then notifies contents of notification depending on whether the first threshold value is higher than the second threshold value.
ACHIEVING INK COST SAVING FOR PRINTING DEVICES BY TAKING VISUAL APPEARANCE AND REAL INK COSTS INTO ACCOUNT
A user defines the real costs for each of the individual inks used in printer and also defines a tolerance level for visual acceptance, defined in CIE units of DeltaE2000. Then, an algorithm performs a search through all nodes of the device link profile and for each node it tries to find an ink combination that creates less costs and is still within the given visual tolerance (<dE2000).
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM, AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD
An image processing apparatus includes a first-image generation unit that generates a first image by performing a visibility enhancement process on an original image in a first color space that is a color space not prone to having color values falling outside a color gamut as a result of conversion of color values of pixels in the original image in the visibility enhancement process, a representative chromaticity determination unit that determines a representative chromaticity that represents chromaticities of pixels in a first region that is an entirety or a part of one of the original image and the first image, and a second-image generation unit that generates a second image by performing, in a second color space, a process for adjusting color values of pixels in a second region that is the entirety or the part of the first image to make the representative chromaticity close to a target chromaticity.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR COLOR GAMUT EXPANSION IN PRINT
In certain aspects, the present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and devices for expanding a printing color gamut such as CMYK for printing or in preparation for printing on printing devices. In certain aspects, the disclosure relates to systems, methods and devices for optimizing or improving multicolor process print manufacturing, in particular, through automated and adaptive selection of additional colorants using color-perception based analysis of embedded visual content.
Image data clustering and color conversion
Methods and systems herein provide for color conversion of image data to another color space. Such color conversion includes converting image data to a color space by identifying color regions in the image data. One color conversion system herein includes a color region identifier operable to select color values in the image data, determine numerical centers of the selected color values, and generate color regions, or color value clusters, based on the selected color values and the numerical centers. The color conversion system also includes an optimization module operable to refine the numerical center of each color region, determine a boundary for each color region based on the refined center, and remove a portion of the color cluster centers to optimize a number of the color regions for color conversion processing.
Image forming apparatus, non-transitory computer readable medium, and image forming method
An image forming apparatus includes first and second processors controlling first and second image formers that form first and second images using color material having first and second color compositions, the second image to be superimposed on the first image; and a display displaying information. If an image formation instruction, including information indicating that the first and second images are to be superimposed is received, with a different image formation instruction being received, the first processor causes the first image former to form the first image in accordance with a first image formation instruction, corresponding to the first color composition, out of the image formation instruction and the different image formation instruction; and transmit to the second processor a second image formation instruction corresponding to the second color composition. The second processor causes the second image former to form the second image in accordance with the second image formation instruction.
METHOD, DEVICE, AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM FOR SETTING COLOR GAMUT MODE
Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for setting a color gamut mode for driving a display. The method includes acquiring a first picture to be displayed on the display; determining a picture type of the first picture, the picture type being associated with a predetermined color gamut mode; acquiring a current color gamut mode currently adopted for driving the display; and when the picture type of the first picture does not match the current color gamut mode, switching the color gamut mode for driving the display from the current color gamut mode to the predetermined color gamut mode.
