Recording medium, playback method, and playback device

A playback device and playback method are provided for reading out and playing content from a recording medium in which are recorded a video stream that is encoded video information, map information, and bitrate information of the video stream. The map information includes playback start time information, start position information, and size information. The playback method includes reading out the map information and the bitrate information, and determining the stipulated data size in accordance with the bitrate information. The playback method also includes acquiring the picture from the video stream based on the result of the determination, and the start position information and the size information included in the map information that has been read out. The method further includes decoding and playing the acquired picture, wherein the stipulated data size differs between 2K resolution of the video stream and 4K resolution of the video stream.

Constraints On Picture Output Ordering In A Video Bitstream

Methods, systems and devices for picture output ordering constraints in video bitstreams are described. An example method of video processing includes performing a conversion between a video including one or more pictures and a bitstream of the video according to a rule, wherein the rule specifies that the bitstream includes at least a first picture that is output, wherein the first picture is in an output layer, wherein the first picture includes a syntax element equal to one, and wherein the syntax element affects a decoded picture output and a removal process associated with a hypothetical reference decoder (HRD).

Recording medium, playback method, and playback device

A recording medium includes a video stream of a standard-luminance range and a video stream of high-luminance range, which are used selectively in accordance with a playback environment. The recording medium also includes a subtitle stream of the standard-luminance range and a subtitle stream of the high-luminance range, which are used selectively in accordance with the playback environment. A playlist file includes a management region where playback control information relating to a main stream is stored, and includes an extended region. The management region stores first playback control information specifying playing of the video stream of the high-luminance range and the subtitle stream of the high-luminance range in combination. The extended region stores second playback control information specifying playing of the video stream of the standard-luminance range and the subtitle stream of the standard-luminance range in combination.

Recording medium, playback method, and playback device

A playback device acquires first management information that stores first playback control information and second management information that stores second playback control information. The first playback control information specifies that a video stream of a high-luminance range is to be played, and the second playback control information specifies that a video stream of a standard-luminance range is to be played. A video player acquires and plays the video stream of the high-luminance range based on the first playback control information in a case of playing the content as the high-luminance range. The video player acquires and plays the video stream of the standard-luminance range based on the second playback control information in a case of playing the content as the standard-luminance range.

Methods, Systems, and Devices for Securing Content

Methods, systems, and devices secure content in memory. The content includes a lock that prohibits reading the content from memory. Prior to expiration of the lock the content cannot be read from the memory. However, a preview option allows at least a portion of the content to be accessed. The preview option provides a preview of the content. At expiration, the content is readable.

RECORDING MEDIUM, PLAYBACK METHOD, AND PLAYBACK DEVICE

A recording medium is provided in which are recorded a stream file, including a first luminance video expressed by luminance of a first dynamic range, and a second luminance video expressed by luminance of a second dynamic range that is broader than the first dynamic range, and a playlist file for controlling playback of the stream file. The recording medium includes first and second combination information, representing combinations of first and second audio streams that each can be played at the same time in a same playback section with the first luminance video and the second luminance video, being described in the playlist file. The recording medium also includes the first audio streams that can be played at the same time with the first luminance video in this playback section being all listed in the first combination information.

RANDOMLY ACCESSIBLE VISUAL INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM AND RECORDING METHOD, AND REPRODUCING DEVICE AND REPRODUCING METHOD

Access point pictures designated as randomly accessible positions are I pictures or P pictures. Information indicating the decoding sequence (I1, P1, B1, B2, B3, B4, P2, . . . ) of pictures functioning as access points and attribute information (picture_type) indicating whether a picture functions as an access point or is necessary for decoding of the access point following a given access point are recorded on the video information recording medium. Random access is possible even if the GOP interval is lengthened.

Recording medium, playback method, and playback device

Recorded in a recording medium is a video stream, map information, and bitrate information of the video stream. The map information includes size information indicating data size of a section where a picture is recorded in the video stream, based on a predetermined stipulated data size. The stipulated data size differs in accordance with the bitrate information.

A playback method of reading out and playing streams from a recording medium is provided, in which are recorded a stream file including a first luminance video expressed by luminance of a first dynamic range, and a second luminance video expressed by luminance of a second dynamic range that is broader than the first dynamic range, and a playlist file for controlling playback of the stream file. The playback method includes, in a case of playing the first luminance video, reading out the first audio streams listed in the first combination information of the playlist file, and playing at the same time with the first luminance video, and in a case of playing the second luminance video, reading out the second audio streams listed in the second combination information of the playlist file, and playing at the same time with the second luminance video.
