Technologies for selective content licensing and secure playback
Technologies for selectively licensing segments of source content are described. In some embodiments the technologies enable a user of a client device to select, license, and use one or more segments of source content, without the need to obtain a license to the source content as a whole. Systems, methods, and computer readable media utilizing such technologies are also described. In some embodiments, the technologies can enable digital rights management or other restrictions imposed on a content segment to be enforced, even when the content segment is incorporated into diverse content such as a content mashup. The technologies may also enable independent tracking of information regarding the use and/or payback of content segments, even when such segments are included in diverse content.
MODIFYING EVENT PLAYLISTS
Techniques are disclosed for organizing and distributing artifacts generated by processing pipelines for the training or application of machine learning models. An application may subscribe to a playlist of a stream of events and locally store a copy of the playlist. The subscriber may merge locally stored and/or selected events to generate a merged stream of events. The subscriber may then execute the merged event stream including the newly added instance of the event.
System and method for detecting hacked modems
A system, method, and computer program product are provided for detecting hacked modems in a cable network system. A cable Internet service provider can provide the disclosed heuristic to determine whether a particular cable modem has likely been hacked by obtaining a score corresponding to this likelihood. This score, as well as information regarding failure and success of various tests, can be used to generate a report identifying the likelihood that various modems have been hacked.
Secure information exchange between devices using location and unique codes
Software receives a communication from a smart-television device. The communication includes a device identifier for the smart-television device and a geo-location for the smart-television device. The geo-location results from collaborative location detection that uses stored geo-positions previously received from one or more mobile devices positioned proximate to the smart-television device. The software causes the smart-television device to display a first view that includes a visual icon and a message identifying a connected-television service. The software receives a geo-position for a mobile device. Upon determining that the geo-location of the smart-television device is proximate to the geo-position of the mobile device, the software causes the mobile device to display a second view that includes the visual icon. The software receives a communication from the mobile device that indicates a match between the visual icon in the first view and the visual icon in the second view and connects the devices.
Tactile launching of an asymmetric visual communication session
Various arrangements for initiating and conducting asymmetrical video communication are presented. A streaming video and audio device may detect an acceleration of the streaming video and audio device over a predefined acceleration threshold. In response, the streaming video and audio device may transmit an acceleration-triggered asymmetrical video communication request to a cloud-based communication server system. The cloud-based communication server system may determine a user account that is linked with the video and audio capture device from which the acceleration-triggered asymmetrical video communication request was received. In response, an acceleration-triggered asymmetrical video communication link may be established between the video and audio capture device and an application executed by a mobile device.
ACCESS NODE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING USER ACCESS TO THE INTERNET AND TO TELEVISION
A client device receives, from a user, a request to connect to a medium. The client device sends a request to a server to inquire whether a sufficient amount of credits is stored in an account for the user. The client device then receives a response to the inquiry. If the user account contains at least one credit, a connection is established between the client device and the medium. The server receives, from a controlling terminal, account information for the user, and a list of activities for reporting by the user. This information is stored in the user account. Credits are also stored in the user account. A report related to a performance of an activity part of the list of activities is received from the client device of the user. In response to receiving the report, the number of credits is incremented in the user account.
Methods for sharing private video streams with first responders under facility administrator control
A method enables video surveillance service subscribers to share image streams with individual first responder agencies in the event of emergency. Nominated agencies establish access credentials at the surveillance service data center. A customer administrator selects permissions on each camera via privileged web-browser or mobile device. Permissions enable selection by static meta data such as type, audio, location, motion, recognition, spectrum, and epoch. Setting ranges of time controls access to video streams of present and past epochs. A responding agency presents their access credential and a handle for each shared camera of interest upon receiving an electronic notification from the administrator. Dynamically generating a link to a secure webserver which records geo-location or network identifiers for validation customizes a notification for each responding agency and each event. Under control by a customer administrator, a virtual machine dedicated to each responding agency instantiates a video server.
REPRODUCTION DEVICE AND REMOTE SIMULTANEOUS VIEWING MANAGEMENT DEVICE
In a remote simultaneous viewing system, zapping for a different group that views a content having the same attribute as that of a content viewed by a belonging group of a user is enabled. A content reproduction portion (22) that reproduces a content; and a group switching portion (25) that switches a belonging group of a user to a different group that views a content having the same attribute as that of the reproduced content are included.
STREAMING AWARENESS GATEWAY
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a streaming access gateway that routes video data according to rules. The streaming access gateway may reside on an enterprise's premises and may route the video data internal to the enterprise's premises. Rules may be specified from within the enterprise's premises or from outside the enterprise's premises. Other embodiments are disclosed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO HANDLE MEDIA TRANSMISSION IN MISSION CRITICAL (MC) SYSTEM
The disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A system and a method to handle media transmission in the Mission Critical (MC) systems or MC Video system are provided. According to the system and the method, wastage of network resources can be avoided and other participants in the group can be given chance to transmit important data as maximum number of transmissions at a time in a group call are limited by network capacity. Accordingly, efficiency of the MC Video system can be improved.
