Platform-agnostic media framework

An embodiment includes software that causes a third node to perform operations comprising: in response to receiving a first identifier for a first node that includes at least one processor, authenticate a first user of the first node via a first authentication service; in response to receiving a second identifier for a second node that includes at least one processor, authenticate a second user of the second node via a second authentication service that is unequal to the first authentication service; in response to authenticating the first user of the first node, communicate a first list of media assets to the first computing node; in response to authenticating the second user of the second node, communicate a second list of media assets to the second computing node. Other embodiments are described herein.

DISPLAY INSERTS, OVERLAYS, AND GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACES FOR MULTIMEDIA SYSTEMS

A disclosed digital media device operational at user premises to receive media signals from a media source for presentation via endpoint devices such as a television display. The digital media device can include gateway and digital media management functionality and can be referred to as a gateway and digital media device. The device offers application services obtained over a wide area network and a user premises network. The digital media device may form a composite signal from the media signal and application service information, for example, for a composite audio and/or video signal for television type presentation to the user. The digital media device may receive a selection signal based on the presentation, for transmission to the application service provider device or to the media source. The media device also offers a GUI presenting a moveable arrangement of icons for selectively accessing application services.

Content viewing method and mobile information terminal used for same

A content viewing method uses a viewing system including a content distribution server distributing contents, a mobile information terminal, and a viewing device reproducing a content. The mobile information terminal transmits user identification information and a user password to the content distribution server. The content distribution server authenticates the mobile information terminal based on the user identification information and the user password. The mobile information terminal transmits an account issue request requesting an account for reproducing a desired content to the content distribution server. The content distribution server issues the account based on the account issue request and transmits the account to the mobile information terminal. The mobile information terminal stores the account. The mobile information terminal transmits the account by short-range wireless communication. The viewing device stores the account received by short-range wireless communication. The viewing device reproduces the desired content using the stored account.

Electronic apparatus, user terminal, and method for controlling the electronic apparatus and the user terminal

An electronic apparatus includes a display, a communication interface, a memory comprising at least one instruction, and a processor configured to execute the at least one instruction, and the processor, by executing the at least one instruction, is configured to, based on an external user terminal being discovered through the communication interface, control the display to display a marker including at least one of a text or an image for guiding an operation of a user to establish a communication connection with the external user terminal, based on authentication on the electronic apparatus being performed by capturing the electronic apparatus outputting the marker by the external user terminal, receive a signal confirming authentication on the electronic apparatus from the external user terminal, and establish a communication connection with the external user terminal in response to the signal.

Systems and methods to temporarily grant access to a digital gateway

Systems and methods are provided for temporarily granting access to a digital gateway. One example method includes receiving a request for temporary access to the digital gateway. A temporary access token is generated at a server. The temporary access token is assigned to a user. Access to the digital gateway is granted via the temporary access token. The temporary access token is automatically expired after a pre-set period. Access to the digital gateway is revoked once the temporary access token has expired.

Control Method, System, Device, and Medium of Unified Playback Control System
20220360834 · 2022-11-10 ·

The embodiments of the present disclosure provide a control method, system, device, and medium of a unified playback control system. The control method of the unified playback control system includes: receiving a template request sent by a device, then, after receiving the template request, returning a preset template to the requesting device, and managing and controlling playback of the device by means of the template. In some implementations, the device obtains a unified template of the unified playback control system, and management and control is performed by means of the preset template so as to enable a licensee EPG platform on the device to present a consistent interface style and unified management and control process.

SECURE ENROLMENT OF SECURITY DEVICE FOR COMMUNICATION WITH SECURITY SERVER

Provided is novel technology for secure security data transmission and more particularly for registering network-enabled security devices such as IP cameras to a security server over a public network such as to a cloud-based security service. An enrolment server is provided that is logged into using a computing device to request and receive an activation code for the security device. The activation code is then provided to the security device, e.g. directly by the computing device. The Security device authenticates itself based on the activation code and in one example provides a public key that will be used to verify its registration. Data transmissions by the device are secured in part on the basis of its registration.

SECURE REMOTE-LESS CONFIGURATION OF A MEDIA PLAYBACK DEVICE

The present disclosure is directed to embodiments for securely reconfiguring a media playback device. For example, a method may include determining whether a media playback device is being controlled by a user. In response to determining that the media playback device is not being controlled by the user, the method may further include: causing display of a pictograph that includes an encrypted payload with information for wirelessly connecting to the media playback device and is configured to be scanned by a client device determining whether a request from the client device to wirelessly connect to the media playback device is a valid request in response to the request being valid, wirelessly connecting the client device to the media playback device via a soft access point; and receiving, at the media playback device, information for reconfiguring the media playback device.

LIVE PERFORMANCE, ENGAGEMENT, AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM

In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to a live streaming performance platform comprising: a main central screen showing a main act; surrounded by scrollable smaller screens containing live feeds of other acts; and audience cams, feeds from other computers, mobile devices, or televisions, wherein the scrollable smaller screens can be accessed and interjected onto the main screen as or with the main act, wherein a user can interact with the main screen, and wherein a user can independently view and interact with other audience members. The platform may authenticate a user, The platform may further receive content from the authenticated user and metadata associated with the content. The platform may organize the content based on the received metadata to form an organized content feed, and transmit the organized content feed to one or more users for display.

NETWORK PROTOCOL FOR ENABLING ENHANCED FEATURES FOR MEDIA CONTENT
20230088413 · 2023-03-23 ·

A web server provides media content for playback on client devices that is associated with a set of enhanced features. When enabled, each enhanced feature provides functionality associated with and supplemental to the media content. The web server performs a handshake with each of a plurality of client devices to authenticate a communication channel. The web server enables one or more of the enhanced features while delivering media content for playback on a first device if information exchanged in the handshake with the first device satisfies a first criterion. The web server delivers the media content for playback on a second device, without enabling any of the enhanced features, if information exchanged in the handshake with the second device does not satisfy the first criterion.
