High speed scan-out of server display buffer for cloud gaming applications

A method for cloud gaming. The method including generating a video frame when executing a video game at a server, wherein the video frame is stored in a frame buffer. The method including determining a maximum pixel clock for a chip-set including a scan-out block. The method including determining a frame rate setting based on the maximum pixel clock and an image size of a target display of a client. The method including determining a speed setting value for the chip-set. The method including scanning the video frame into the scan-out block from the frame buffer. The method including scanning-out the video frame from the scan-out block to the encoder at the speed setting value.

System and method for improved content creation by means of combining content from multiple individual content capture devices
11399156 · 2022-07-26 ·

A system and method to create original content by means of merging different content from multiple individual devices into at least one combined content set. The system includes multiple content capture devices, a database that stores media content from the multiple individual devices, a processor that merges the data content, and a server that distributes the merged content. Moreover, the merging processor applies a set of rules as to how the content is to be merged into the combined content set and the distribution server has a set of distribution rules related to how the combined content is distributed and the user(s) that can consume the combined content.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING SMART RESPONSES FOR NATURAL LANGUAGE QUERIES

Methods and systems are provided for generating a response to a natural language query. Specifically, the natural language query is received and a query template that corresponds to the natural language query is determined. One or more search results corresponding to the natural language query are retrieved. One or more attributes associated with a user are selected based on selection criteria. Based on those attributes, a response template previously assigned to the query template is identified. A response to the natural language query is generated based on the identified response template and the retrieved one or more search results.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEDIA HUB SOFTWARE UPDATING
20210409824 · 2021-12-30 · ·

A system and method for automatically analyzing and managing a media hub software update. The system and method each utilize available media hub system and diagnostic information to aid in the analysis and installation of a software update. If the installation of the update is determined to require memory capacity in excess of what is currently available within the media hub, an archive and off-loading process is automatically initiated to free the required memory space during the installation process. Any off-loaded information and/or applications are then restored after the installation is complete.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO IDENTIFY STREAMING SESSIONS
20210377604 · 2021-12-02 ·

Methods and apparatus to identify streaming sessions are disclosed. A disclosed apparatus for identifying streaming sessions includes an encoder to generate an identifier corresponding to a media file of an advertisement, a detector to determine a presence of the identifier in the advertisement presented at a media presentation device, a timing analyzer to determine a time at which the advertisement was presented, and an associator. The associator is to compare the identifier and the time to a streaming session log from a streaming service provider, identify a streaming session in which the advertisement associated with the identifier was presented at the time based on the comparison, and associate a panelist identifier corresponding to the media presentation device with a streaming session identifier corresponding to the streaming session.

Multimedia communications with synchronized graphical user interfaces

Techniques for performing multimedia communications including audio and video (including still-frame video) are described. During a multimedia communication involving two devices, one of the devices may receive a user input to display digital book covers. In response, each device may display live video (captured by each device of the multimedia communication) and still-frame video corresponding to digital book covers. Thereafter, in response to a further user input, each device may display the live video and still-frame video corresponding to a specific page of one of the digital books. Each device may receive a user input for controlling the still-frame video displayed.

METHOD FOR PROVIDING AND METHOD FOR ACQUIRING IMMERSIVE MEDIA, APPARATUS, DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A method for providing immersive media, performed by at least one processor includes adding resolution description information and resolution selection strategy information to file format information of immersive media content, determining a target resolution to be provided to a client based on the resolution description information and the resolution selection strategy information of the immersive media content, and transmitting an immersive media file of the target resolution to the client.

Systems and methods for encoding and sharing content between devices
11349892 · 2022-05-31 · ·

Systems and methods for sharing content between devices are disclosed. To request a shared piece of media content, a playback device generates and sends a request to content server. The playback device includes information in the request that indicates the playback capabilities of the device. The content server receives the request and determines the playback capabilities of the playback device from the information in the request. The content server then determines the assets that may be used by the playback device to obtain the media content and generates a top level index file for the playback device that includes information about the determined assets. The top level index file is then sent to the playback device that may then use the top level index file to obtain the media content using the indicated assets.

Management of a client device buffer

A method includes transmitting, to a client device, a portion of a first ABR segment, characterized by a first representation, according to a first predefined protocol, and transmitting a first buffer management instruction that is associated with the portion of the first ABR segment. The method includes obtaining a performance status characteristic from the client device. The performance status characteristic characterizes the client device receiving the portion of the first ABR segment. The method includes, in response to determining that the performance status characteristic satisfies a representation change condition, transmitting, to the client device, a portion of a second ABR segment, characterized by a second representation, according to a second predefined protocol that is different from the first predefined protocol, and transmitting a second buffer management instruction that is associated with the portion of the second ABR segment.

MESSAGING SYSTEM WITH CIRCUMSTANCE CONFIGURATION FRAMEWORK FOR HARDWARE

An example method comprises: receiving, at a server from a first client device, a request for access to a client feature on the first client device; determining, by the server, an applicable rule for the access request, the applicable rule having a plurality of nodes; determining, by the server, device capabilities needed for the determined rule; determining, by the server, nodes that can be executed and nodes that cannot be executed, based on the device capabilities, the nodes that can be executed including device hardware capabilities and the nodes that cannot be executed including real-time device capabilities; executing, by the server nodes that can be executed to reach a partial decision for the applicable rule; pruning the applicable rule to remove executed nodes and generate a pruned rule that includes nodes that cannot be executed; transmitting the pruned rule and partial decision to the first client device.
