Method for generating media information, terminal, server, and AHS system
The present invention discloses a method for generating media information, a terminal, a server, and an adaptive streaming system. Media code streams of m types of code rate, which are generated by an AHS system, are divided into h groups, and tracing codes are separately embedded into code stream segments of each group. The tracing codes embedded into the code stream segments, and code stream group information are stored in a media presentation description MPD file. In a downloading process of a terminal, tracing of an end user that downloads media data is implemented.
Video-on-demand content delivery system for providing video-on-demand services to TV service subscribers
A video-on-demand (VOD) content delivery system has a VOD Application Server which manages a database of templates for presentation of video content elements of different selected types categorized in hierarchical order. A web-based Content Management System receives content uploaded online in file formats with metadata for title and topical area, and automatically converts it into video data format compatible with the VOD content delivery system indexed by title and topical area. A User Interface for the system delivers listings data to the viewer's TV indexed by title and topical area specified by the uploaded metadata.
Server device for sharing contents, client device, and method for sharing contents
A contents sharing method includes a step for receiving playback capability information from a client apparatus; a determination step for determining, on the basis of the received playback capability information, whether to carry out partial processing of contents to be supplied to the client apparatus; and a transmission step for processing some frames in the contents to be played in the client apparatus and transmitting the processed frames to the client apparatus if it is determined that the partial processing is to be performed. Accordingly, contents may be efficiently provided.
METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING A DATA STREAM USING A STREAMING PROTOCOL
Method for transmitting a data stream between a server and a client using the streaming protocol based on HTTP including the following steps implemented by the server following a reception of at least one item of information representing a capacity of said client: adapting an initial data stream to each capacity received in order to obtain an adapted data stream; decomposing the adapted data stream into segments; transmitting to the client an item of descriptive information making it possible to obtain, for each segment, a loading address of said segment, said descriptive information enabling the client to request from the server a transmission of the segments in order to obtain the adapted data stream.
SYSTEM AND METHODS THEREOF FOR DISPLAYING VIDEO CONTENT
A system is configured to display a video clip on a display of a user device. The system receives a request from the user device to display the video clip. The system then queries an advertiser server to identify the video clip. The system fetches the identified video clip. The system then extracts from the fetched video clip its video content. The video content is a plurality of frames. The system then determines a type of the user device. Then, the system determines a number of frames per second for the user device. The system generates a plurality of images from the plurality of frames. The system further generates a timing sequence for displaying each of the plurality of images of the imagized video clip on the display of the user device. The system then sends the imagized video clip and the timing sequence to the user device.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MODELING AUDIENCE STABILITY OF A MEDIA ASSET SERIES
Systems and methods are described for modeling the consistency of audiences viewing groups of media assets. For example, a media guidance application (e.g., executed on a server) may identify a first subset of user equipment that generated for display a first media asset (e.g., an episode of a series). The media guidance application may then identify a second subset of the first subset where the user equipment generated for display another media asset that is part of a group of media assets (e.g., another episode of the same series). Based on the number of user equipment in the second subset, the media guidance application may calculate a score for audience consistency for the group of media assets (e.g., the series) which can be used to rank the group of media assets among other groups of media assets.
Methods and apparatus for selecting digital access technology for programming and data delivery
Methods and apparatus for selecting digital access technology used to deliver content data over a network are disclosed. In one embodiment, the network comprises an HFC cable or satellite network that includes a server process interfacing with a plurality of customer premises equipment (CPE), and/or associated client devices, each having different capabilities profiles. The server determines one or more capabilities possessed by the CPE, and evaluates one or more program or content choices for possible delivery to that CPE based on its profile. The server generates a list of programs or content based on this evaluation, and transmits this list to the CPE, which displays the list for viewing by a user. The user is therefore offered a list of available content that is compatible with their specific configuration. A business and operational rules engine is also optionally employed to control the operation of the foregoing processes to accomplish particular business or operational goals.
