Receiving device, receiving method, program, and broadcasting system
Disclosed herein is a receiving device for receiving AV contents, the receiving device including: an obtaining section configured to obtain a description document described in a program language for displaying contents from a server present on a network connected with the receiving device; a determining section configured to determine whether the obtained the description document is obtained from a first server managed on a broadcaster side broadcasting the AV contents; and a controlling section configured to control execution of the obtained the description document according to a result of determination by the determining section.
Streaming policy management system and method
A streaming policy management system and method wherein bandwidth may be allocated based on external device information received from a streaming client device connected to one or more external audio/video (A/V) devices. When a streaming network back office receives a request from the streaming client device for delivery of a particular content, wherein the request includes external device information of one or more external A/V devices connected to the streaming client device, a bandwidth is determined for streaming the particular content to the streaming client device and a request may be made to a content delivery network to create a distribution pipe having the bandwidth to accommodate the delivery of the particular content. A manifest file is provided to the streaming client device that includes one or more pointers that point to content segments of the particular content.
User interface customization in a television platform
In some aspects, a method includes storing a configuration database at a media platform. The configuration database includes base customization data associated with the media platform and manufacturer customization data associated with a plurality of manufacturers of television devices. The method includes receiving a configuration request from a television device, where the configuration request includes a location and/or a device identifier of the television device. The method includes selecting a portion of the manufacturer customization data that correspond to the location and/or the device identifier of the television device, generating server-based customization data for the television device based on the portion of the manufacturer customization data and the base customization data, and transmitting the server-based customization data to the television device, where the server-based customization data is configured to be used by the television device to customize a user interface of the media platform.
DYNAMIC UPDATE SYSTEM FOR A REMOTE PHYSICAL DEVICE
A method for updating an embedded device that includes a processor that receives an image file including at least one of kernel software, hardware configuration data, and application software. The embedded device parses the image file to determine portions of the image file that have been indicated by at least one flag as being modified from that currently being included on the embedded device. The embedded device installing at least portions of the image file on the embedded device and resetting portions of the embedded device based upon the at least one flag.
