DEVICE-SPECIFIC VIDEO CUSTOMIZATION
A real-time customized video can be provided, to a user device such as a cell phone or laptop, through a computer-implemented method. A processor circuit can be used to generate, based upon at least one received user device setting, at least one real-time customized video that is created from and is similar to an original video. Setting information can be received by the processor circuit from a user device from which a view request for the original video was received. A video of the at least one real-time customized videos can be provided to the user device by the processor circuit, based on the setting information received from the user device.
Relevant advertisement generation based on a user operating a client device communicatively coupled with a networked media device
A method, apparatus and/or system related to relevant advertisement generation based on a user operating a client device communicatively coupled with a networked media device are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes determining that a user is likely viewing a networked media device and/or accessing a client device while viewing the networked media device, determining that the content currently being displayed on the networked media device is associated with a motion-video advertisement through an automatic content recognition algorithm applied to the networked media device, selecting an alphanumeric advertisement formatted for a display area of the client device based on contextual match between the motion-video advertisement and/or the alphanumeric advertisement, and/or delivering the alphanumeric advertisement to the client device while the motion-video advertisement is still rendering on the networked media device.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING DATA SUBSIDIES IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method, including, for each configuration of a client device of a media content service, accessing a headend of the media content service, and for each media content item of a plurality of media content items accessible via the headend of the media content service, receiving a media content identifier associated with the media content item, sending the media content identifier to an advertising server, receiving, from the advertising server, a set of advertising items associated with the media content identifier, where each advertising item of the set of advertising items includes advertising locator information, and aggregating the set of advertising locator information associated with the media content identifier to generate a plurality of advertising locators associated with the plurality of media content items, and, in turn, storing the plurality of advertising locators associated with the plurality of media content items accessible via the headend of the media content service according to the configuration of the client device as a manifest of advertising items for the configuration of the client device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
System and method of identifying networked device for establishing a P2P connection
A barcode corresponding to an identification of the networked device is attached on a networked device, and the identification is associated with an IP address of the networked device in a server, wherein a terminal device captures the barcode for transmitting a connection request to the server; and the server obtains the identification code of the networked device according to the connection request, wherein the IP address of the networked device is obtained according to identification code for establishing a point to point (P2P) connection between the terminal device and the networked device.
Synthetic communication network method and system
Methods and systems for registering a phone device on a synthetic communication network are described. One implementation receives a request to connect the phone device to a synthetic communication network that transmits messages over a data network using one or more phone numbers from a voice network. A phone number and a country code associated with the phone device to be used for communications over the synthetic network are obtained. The phone number is normalized to a standard format distinguishing the resulting normalized phone number from international phone numbers using the synthetic network. Before the phone device is registered, an association between the normalized phone number and the phone device is verified by sending a verification message addressed to the phone device that loops back to the phone device. If the phone device confirms the verification as authentic, an authorization allows the phone device to communicate over the synthetic network.
Video-on-demand content delivery system for providing video-on-demand services to TV service subscribers
A video-on-demand (VOD) content delivery system has a VOD Application Server which manages a database of templates for presentation of video content elements of different selected types categorized in hierarchical order. A web-based Content Management System receives content uploaded online in file formats with metadata for title and topical area, and automatically converts it into video data format compatible with the VOD content delivery system indexed by title and topical area. A User Interface for the system delivers listings data to the viewer's TV indexed by title and topical area specified by the uploaded metadata.

Multiple-Mode System and Method for Providing User Selectable Video Content
The method of providing audiovisual content to a client device configured to be coupled to a display. The method detects a selection of a graphical element corresponding to a video content item. In response to detecting the selection of the graphical element, a transmission mode is determined. The transmission mode is a function of: (i) one or more decoding capabilities of the client device; (ii) a video encoding format of the video content item; (ii) whether the video content item should be displayed in a full screen or a partial screen format; and (iv) whether the client device is capable of overlaying image data into a video stream. Next, audiovisual data that includes the video content item is prepared for transmission according to the determined transmission mode. Finally, the prepared audiovisual data is transmitted from the server toward the client device, according to the determined transmission mode, for display on the display.
PACKAGER FOR SEGMENTER FLUIDITY
Embodiments provide for methods, computer program products, and systems to improve media playback comprising receiving a variant stream, identifying respective maximum segment durations for a plurality of different types of client devices that will play media content contained in the variant stream, generating, using the variant stream, a respective playlist for each of the plurality of different types of client devices, wherein the respective playlists each contain different maximum segment durations, and delivering the respective playlists to at least one of the plurality of different types of client devices via a distribution network.
