METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING THE INSERTION OF LOCAL MEDIA INTO A PROGRAM STREAM
20230037853 · 2023-02-09 ·

Methods and apparatus for monitoring locally inserted media are disclosed. A disclosed apparatus includes instructions to detect, at a media device at an end user location, a frequency of a watermark that was spliced into a primary media stream received at the media device after the primary media stream was received at the end user location, associate identifying tags with segments of the primary media stream that were spliced, in response to the detection of the watermark, determine an advertisement associated with the segments of the primary media based on the identifying tags, present the primary media at a first time and the advertisement at second times, record a log including first identifying information including an identity of the content of the primary media and second identifying information including a change in the frequency of the watermark corresponding to the advertisement; and transmit the log to a data collection facility.

Goal-oriented method for procuring advertising

A goal-based method, as disclosed herein, is usable to procure advertising. The method, in an embodiment, includes providing goal data associated with an advertising goal for a plurality of markets. The at least one processor is operable to process advertising inventory data associated with one or more media sources. The advertising inventory data is associated with a plurality of advertising opportunities. The at least one processor is operable to modify at least one of the opportunity sets as a result of the at least one opportunity set deviating from the advertising goal by an extent, and the modification results in a modified opportunity set that deviates from the advertising goal by a lesser extent. The at least one processor is operable to cause an output that identifies the modified opportunity set.

Curating Narrative Experiences Through Automated Content Compilation
20230041978 · 2023-02-09 ·

A content compilation system includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a memory storing a software code configured to provide an editorial interface. The hardware processor executes the software code to receive compilation authoring data via the editorial interface, identify one or more end-user(s) for receiving a content compilation, access a consumption profile of the end-user(s), obtain, using the consumption profile and a first authoring criterion in the compilation authoring data, content items from one or more content sources. The software code further aggregates, using a second authoring criterion in the compilation authoring data, the content items into content subsets, groups, using a third authoring criterion, at least some of the content subsets to produce the content compilation, computes a desirability score predicting the desirability of the content compilation to the end-user(s), and provides, when the desirability score satisfies a predetermined threshold, the content compilation to the end-user(s).

Systems and methods for modifying control of a device within a vehicle
11572174 · 2023-02-07 · ·

Systems and methods for modifying control over a device in a vehicle are provided. The modification may comprise disabling an ability of a passenger to control the device via one or more passenger interface systems, limiting controls available to the passenger via the one or more passenger interface systems, transferring the ability to control the device to another user using a different user interface system, and/or transferring the ability to control certain functionalities of the device to another user using the different user interface system.

CROSS-SCREEN OPTIMIZATION OF ADVERTISING PLACEMENT
20230032230 · 2023-02-02 ·

The current invention relates to a computer-generated method for optimizing placement of advertising content across multiple different devices. The system can allocate advertising campaigns and plans to various inventory types based on the probability of accurate consumer matching. Consumer matching can be achieved by generation of look-alike models in a consumer's device graph to predict future consumption behavior. The system includes an interface through which an advertiser can access relevant information about inventory and success of a given placement.

DYNAMIC SLOTTING USING BLENDING MODEL

Sponsored and organic pieces of content are displayed in accordance with a blending model that is used to first identify a pattern of slots to which to assign either sponsored or organic pieces of content. This blending model is applied to a combination of both sponsored and non-sponsored pieces of content being considered for display to a user. This pattern only determines the slot assignments. The actual ranking of the pieces of content, and more particularly the actual ranking of the organic pieces of content, is determined by an ordering other than the ranking determined by the blending model, such as by using the original ordering of the second list. The pieces of content are then displayed in the order of this actual ranking, but in the slots indicated as having been assigned to be either sponsored or organic in the pattern determined by the blending model.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO DETERMINE DEMOGRAPHIC CLASSIFICATIONS FOR CENSUS LEVEL IMPRESSION COUNTS AND UNIQUE AUDIENCE SIZES
20230096891 · 2023-03-30 ·

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to determine demographic classifications for census level impression counts and unique audience sizes are disclosed. In an example, the apparatus includes media tag format circuitry to generate a reformatted media tag corresponding to an impression request. The example apparatus also includes model execution circuitry to execute a machine learning model based on the reformatted media tag to generate outputs, the outputs including at least a value representative of a probability of an occurrence of a demographic classification. The example apparatus further includes audience counting circuitry to assign an identification of ones of audience members in a group to the demographic classification based at least on the outputs.

Transparent intercept for adaptive bitrate splicer
11616824 · 2023-03-28 · ·

Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate the intercept and manipulation of content requested by a client device. The methods, systems, and apparatuses described herein enable the interception and redirection of packets based upon a set of rules. Intercepted packets may be redirected away from an origin server and may be forwarded to a splicing device. The splicing device may establish a session with a corresponding origin server, and retrieve content that is requested by the intercepted packet. In embodiments, the splicing device may identify alternate content that is associated with the intercepted packet and/or content that is further associated with a device or subscriber associated with the packet. One or more segments of the requested content, or the entirety of the requested content may be replaced with the alternate content, and the modified content may be output to the client device requesting the content.

Delivery of different services through different client devices

A system that handles delivery of service(s) through a client device, includes an interactive service provider, a video service provider, and a client device. The interactive service provider inserts at least one of digital watermarks and digital fingerprints in non-programming media content. The video service provider transmits a media stream of the media content that includes programming media content and the non-programming media content. The client device detects at least one of the inserted digital watermarks and the digital fingerprints in the playback duration of the media content and renders overlay graphics on the media content. The client device activates at least one of input devices paired with the client device and the rendered overlay graphics. The client device further receives trigger responses over activated overlay graphics and displays an interactive view to enable delivery of service(s) in response to the trigger responses.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMIC CONTENT RESTRICTION BASED ON A RELATIONSHIP

Systems and methods are provided herein to dynamically update content restrictions for multiple users by detecting a first user in the proximity of a media device playing a first content item and detecting a second user entering the proximity of the media device. In response to detecting a second user entering the proximity of the media device and receiving a command from the first user that controls playing the first content, the system modifies a stored relationship between the first user and the second user to track the relationship between the first user and the second user. Thereafter, when the system detects the first user and the second user in the proximity of a media device playing a second content, in response, the system automatically performs an action that controls the playing of the second content (e.g., without user having to issue those commands).
