Updating object subscriptions based on trigger events is described. An indication of a trigger event, associated with an object, can be received from a client of a user. The object can be associated with current object data that is stored in a storage area of a subscription management system. The storage area can maintain the current object data for at least the object and a subscription list for client(s), wherein the subscription list for each of the client(s) comprises object identifiers corresponding to subscribed objects for each of the client(s). Based at least partly on receiving the indication of the trigger event and determining that the trigger event is associated with a modification to a subscription, the subscription list can be updated to generate an updated subscription list for the client and current object data for the subscribed objects identified within the updated subscription list can be provided thereto.
Systems and methods for providing recommendations based on short-media viewing profile and long-media viewing profile
Systems and methods are provided herein for providing recommendations to a user. A short-media viewing profile may be maintained for the user. The short-media viewing profile may be based on user's behavior while watching short-length media content. A long-media viewing profile may be maintained for the user. The long-media viewing profile may be based on user's behavior while watching long-length media content. In response to determining that the user is currently engaged in viewing short-length media content, a recommendation is provided to the user based on the short-media viewing profile. In response to determining that the user is currently engaged in viewing long-length media content, a recommendation is provided to the user based on the long-media viewing profile.
Systems and methods for providing non-intrusive advertising content to set-top boxes
Systems and methods are disclosed for providing non-intrusive advertising content to users. The method includes receiving user input reflecting user content preferences for receiving desired content related to specific topics in lieu of standard advertising slots while watching playable media content via a set-top box. The method may further include receiving a request for playable media content and then retrieving desired content based on user content preferences. Thereafter, the method may include choosing non-intrusive advertising content and generating datagrams that include the desired content and the non-intrusive advertising content. The datagrams may be concatenated with the playable media content to generate displayable content. The display content may then be provided for displaying.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS BASED ON USER-SUPPLIED CRITERIA
Methods and systems are proposed herein to address the inefficiencies in the recommendation schemes available. More specifically, the embodiments disclosed herein provide a new recommendation scheme, whereby a user enters various criteria for what he/she would like to be recommended. For example, the system may receive a user preference for content recommendations from a user. The system may retrieve a user profile for the user. The system may compare the user preference to the user profile to determine a criterion for content recommendations for the user. The system may receive a content attribute for content provided by a content provider. The system may match the criterion to the content attribute. The system may, in response to matching the criterion to the content attribute, generate for display a recommendation to the user for the content.
Method and apparatus for delivery of media content
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method, including identifying recommended video clips for a user of a communication device according to a video viewing profile for the user and video subject matter information associated with a plurality of video clips, identifying an edge cloud server for facilitating network access by the communication device at a location, determining a reduced activity period for a data path between a video content server and the edge cloud server by comparing activity information for the data path and an activity threshold, directing the video content server to store the recommended video clips at the edge cloud server during the reduced activity period, and providing a listing of the recommended video clips to an application, where the communication device receives a video clip of the recommended video clips from the edge cloud server responsive to a selection of the video clip via the application. A method for dynamic content filtering includes accessing, by a processing unit, a media content that includes several content portions. The method further includes determining a rating tag associated with each content portion from the media content, and a user profile of a user requesting the media content to be rendered. The user profile contains a permission level for the user. The method further includes filtering the content portions from the media content based on the permission level, wherein, in response to the rating tag of a particular content portion exceeding the permission level in the user profile, filtering out the particular content portion. The method further includes rendering content portions that were not filtered out.
Automated, user-driven, and personalized curation of short-form media segments
An example method includes obtaining a plurality of candidate media segments for possible inclusion in a single stream of media segments that is personalized for a first user, wherein at least one candidate media segment of the plurality of candidate media segments comprises an excerpt from a media asset, selecting, based on a known media consumption behavior of the first user, a subset of the plurality of candidate media segments, wherein the subset includes candidate media segments of the plurality of candidate media segments that are to be included in the single stream of media segments, modifying at least one candidate media segment in the subset based on the known media consumption behavior of the first user, and compiling the subset into the single stream of media segments, wherein the single stream of media segments includes the at least one candidate media segment in the subset that was modified.

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to reduce false positive signature matches due to similar media segments in different reference media assets are disclosed. Example apparatus disclosed herein include a signature matcher to compare monitored media signatures with a library of reference media signatures, the monitored media signatures associated with monitored media, the library of reference media signatures including sequences of reference signatures associated with respective reference media assets. Disclosed example apparatus also include a match information identifier to identify a number of different matched reference media assets associated with ones of the sequences of reference media signatures that match a sequence of matched monitored media signatures. Disclosed example apparatus further include a false positive identifier to, in response to the number of different matched reference media assets satisfying a threshold number, eliminate one or more of the matched reference media assets from being credited to the monitored media.
Secondary content insertion in 360-degree video
A secondary content such as an advertisement may be inserted based on users' interests in 360 degree video streaming. Users may have different interests and may watch different areas within a 360 degree video. The information about area(s) of 360 degree scenes that users watch the most may be used to select an ad(s) relevant to their interests. One or more secondary content viewports may be defined within a 360 degree video frame. Secondary content viewport parameter(s) may be tracked. For example, statistics of the user's head orientation for some time leading to tile presentation of the ad(s) may be collected. Secondary content may be determined based on the tracked secondary content viewport parameters).
Methods and apparatus to determine an audience composition based on voice recognition
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a controller to cause a people meter to emit a prompt for input of audience identification information at a first time and determine a first audience count based on the input, an audio detector to determine a second audience count based on signatures generated from audio data captured in the media environment, and a comparator to cause the people meter to not emit the prompt for at least a first time period after the first time when the first audience count is equal to the second audience count.
