METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRENDING MEDIA PROGRAMS FOR A USER
A client determines that a user is attempting to access media program recommendations. In response to the determination, the client attempts to collect media program recommendations to be presented to the user. Media program recommendations may be derived locally by the client, by the client and a multimedia device locally connected with the client, by the client and one or more additional devices, etc. In some embodiments, in response to receiving a query from the client, one or more recipient devices or servers identify media program recommendations in a plurality of trending categories. The media program recommendations may be selected based at least in part on EPG data and audience research and measurement data. The media program recommendations collected by the client are presented to the user for further exploration. The client may be one of mobile phones, tablet computers, etc.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND MEDIA FOR GENERATING AN ADVERTISEMENT FROM A VIDEO STREAM
Methods, systems, and media for generating an advertisement from a video stream are provided. In accordance with some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving, from a first user device, advertisement parameters associated with an advertisement campaign for placing an advertisement based on the advertisement parameters, wherein the advertisement parameters include one or more keywords; associating the advertisement parameters with an identifier of the first user device; receiving, from the first user device, a live video stream; receiving, from a second user device, a request to present an advertisement; identifying the live video stream based at least in part on the one or more keywords; generating the advertisement using the live video stream and the advertisement parameters; and causing the advertisement to be presented on the second user device as the advertisement.
Systems and methods for adjusting buffer size
Methods and systems are provided for adjusting a size of a buffer based on a probability that a rewind request will be received during a currently playing segment of media. When the system determines that receiving a rewind request is likely, the system will increase the size of a buffer such that the rewind request can be accommodated using data from the buffer. When the system determines that receiving a rewind request is unlikely, the system will decrease the size of the buffer to free resources for other system components.
System and methods for facile, instant, and minimally disruptive playback of media files
Provided herein are novel systems and methods of digital content delivery designed to be easy, instant, and minimally disruptive for the user. The novel systems and methods of the invention can provide the device user with an instant and ephemeral snippet of entertaining media, in a metered presentation controlled by the user. The system is minimally disruptive in that the user can summon a video clip or other media content with a simple input, whereupon a clip is instantly played for the user. Upon reaching the end of the media presentation, the media player window self-closes and returns the user's device to the exact state it was in prior. In this way, a user can enjoy a short, entertaining pause without substantially interrupting their previous activity on the device.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RECOMMENDING DYNAMIC, ADAPTIVE AND NON-SEQUENTIALLY ASSEMBLED VIDEOS
The present disclosure provides a system and method for recommending dynamic, adaptive and non-sequentially assembled videos. The method includes reception of a set of preference data and a set of user authentication data. The method includes development of an interest profile of the user. The method includes fetching of the one or more tagged videos. The method includes fragmentation of each tagged video into the one or more tagged fragments and segregation of one or more mapped fragments into one or more logical sets of mapped fragments. The method includes mining of semantic context information from each mapped fragment and each logical set of mapped fragments. The method includes clustering of the one or more logical sets of mapped fragments and assembling of the one or more logical clusters of mapped fragments to obtain a set of assembled videos. The method includes recommendation of the set of assembled videos.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DISPLAYING INTERACTIVE QUESTIONS DURING STREAMING OF REAL-TIME AND ADAPTIVELY ASSEMBLED VIDEO
The present disclosure provides a system and method for enabling display of interactive questions during streaming of a real time, dynamic, adaptive and non-sequentially assembled video. The method includes reception of a set of preference data associated with a user and a set of user authentication data. In addition, the method includes serving of the assembled video based on the received set of preference data to the user in real time. Moreover, the method includes fetching of a pre-defined set of interactive questions. Further, the method includes posting of the pre-defined set of interactive questions during the serving of the assembled video. Furthermore, the method includes collection of the set of user feedbacks for a posted pre-defined set of interactive questions from the user.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REAL TIME, DYNAMIC, ADAPTIVE AND NON-SEQUENTIAL STITCHING OF CLIPS OF VIDEOS
The present disclosure provides a method and system for real time, dynamic, adaptive and non-sequential assembling of one or more mapped fragments of one or more tagged videos. The method includes a step of receiving a set of preference data from pre-defined selection criteria and set of user authentication data. The method includes another step of fetching the one or more tagged videos from the digitally processed repository of videos. The method includes yet another step of fragmenting each tagged video of the one or more tagged videos into the one or more tagged fragments and clustering one or more logical sets of mapped fragments into one or more logical clusters of mapped fragments. The method includes yet another step of assembling at least one of the one or more logical clusters of mapped fragments in a pre-defined order of preference to obtain an assembled video.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR NAVIGATION BETWEEN SEGMENTS OF REAL TIME, ADAPTIVE AND NON-SEQUENTIALLY ASSEMBLED VIDEO
The present disclosure provides a system and method for enabling navigation to one or more discrete segments of a real time dynamic and adaptive non-linear, non-sequentially assembled video. The method includes reception of a set of preference data associated with a user from a pre-defined selection criteria and a set of user authentication data. Accordingly, the method includes fetching of one or more tagged videos related to the set of preference data. The method includes fragmentation of the one or more tagged videos into the one or more tagged fragments. Further, the method includes clustering of one or more mapped fragments in a pre-defined order of preference. Furthermore, the method includes insertion of one or more interactive navigation options in one or more regions. Also, the method includes serving of the assembled video and inserted one or more interactive navigation options to the user.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR GENERATING AND PROVIDING PROGRAM GUIDES AND CONTENT
Systems and methods for identifying, assembling, and transmitting content are described in the illustrative context of electronic program guides and program channels. A first system causes an interactive interstitial to be presented on a remote first device of a user in conjunction with a scheduled program. The first system determines if a second device of the user is available to receive an interstitial interaction request. At least partly in response to determining that the second device is available to receive an interstitial interaction request, the interstitial interaction request is presented via a client hosted on the second device. At least partly in response to determining that the user has provided an interaction via the second device, the interaction is stored in memory. Optionally, an interstitial is composed based at least in part on the user interaction. The composed interstitial is optionally displayed via the first device of the user in conjunction with a scheduled program.
REGENERATING AN INTERACTIVE PAGE BASED ON CURRENT USER INTERACTION
In various embodiments, an optimization engine regenerates items included in an interactive page while the user is interacting with the interactive page. In operation, an optimization engine displays a portion of the interactive page during a viewing session. Subsequently, the optimization engine computes a probability distribution for the viewing session over a set of interests based on model parameters and operations performed by the user during the viewing session. The optimization engine then regenerates items that are included in a second portion of the interactive page based on the probability distribution for the viewing session. The optimization engine displays a least a part of the resulting regenerated interactive page. Advantageously, by regenerating items included in the interactive page based on operations performed by the user during the viewing session, the optimization engine reduces the time required for the user to view an item that piques an interest.
