TIME DEPENDENT REPLACEMENT OF STORED BROADCAST CONTENT
A method for time dependent replacement of stored broadcast content, wherein such method replaces a time period of broadcast as a function of how many minutes, hours, days, weeks or months have elapsed since the initial broadcast, whether a predetermined date has passed, or according to playback date, the playback day of the week, playback hour or time, or playback proximity to a date, day, hour or time or event of interest.
Method and system for automating advertising insertion and reconciliation
A system and method for operating an ad extraction and reconciliation system for a broadcast system includes an extraction manager module that receives an advertisement schedule for an advertisement from an ad sales module. The system also includes a controller module that receives broadcast channel schedule data for broadcast channel signal from a broadcast channel system and generating an advertising content data request signal for advertising content data including an advertisement content identifier for the advertisement. The ad extraction manager module forms an advertisement insertion schedule having advertisement content identifier and an advertising insertion spot associated with the advertising content identifier. The controller communicates the advertisement insertion schedule to a broadcast scheduling system.
Systems and methods for determining a time period remaining until a live production system changes states
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for determining a time period remaining until a live production system changes states. An example method involves accessing a stored television broadcasting traffic log; making a first determination that a log entry A in the traffic log does not correspond to a live production source; making a second determination that a log entry B in the traffic log is the next log entry after the log entry A to correspond to a live production source; making a third determination that the log entry B includes a start time B; responsive to making the first, second, and third determinations, proximate a current time that is on or after a start time A corresponding to the log entry A and that is before the start time B, determining a time period as a difference between the current time and the start time B; and providing the determined time period to an output device for presentation proximate the current time.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LATENCY-AWARE SOCIAL NETWORKING
In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for latency-aware social networking. A media stream may be provided to a plurality of client devices, and transmission and processing latencies between each client device and one or more servers may be measured. Client devices may be organized into groups according to latency windows and, in some implementations, numbers of devices. A social networking system may provide real-time chat functionality to grouped client devices. Groups may be dynamically reorganized by latency and number as network and processing latencies change.
Systems and Methods for Client-Based Addressable Advertising
In accordance with the present invention, systems and methods that allow a television broadcast facility or a headend to insert in-band messages, where the inserted message allow receivers to switch to, insert, or otherwise show addressable advertisements to its viewers.
Intelligent routing fabric for asset insertion in content
Systems and methods presented herein provide for intelligent routing of requests for insertion of advertisements into content. A network element, communicatively coupled to content distributers and to advertisement decision servers (ADSs), is operable to receive a Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) 130-3 request from a content distributer for advertisements to be inserted into a content selection. In response to receiving the SCTE 130-3 request, the network element communicates a request for advertisements to the ADSs, receives advertisements from each, determines a number of advertisement opportunities in the content selection, determines values of the advertisements from the ADSs, selects a portion of the advertisements from the ADSs that fulfills all of the advertisement opportunities in the content selection and that provides the most value, and combines the selected portion of the advertisements from the ADSs in a response to the content distributer for insertion into the content.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEDIA VERIFICATION, ORGANIZATION, SEARCH, AND EXCHANGE
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for providing reliable, verified media content. Media content may be verified at the source, creator credentials vetted and associated with media content, and metadata for efficient organization, searching, and verification of content may be processed.
System and method to remove the date specific information from a broadcast automation playlist
Embodiments herein describe a content distribution system that removes time-dependent promotional content before providing a recording of a media presentation (e.g., show or program) to a video-on-demand (VOD) provider. To receive Nielsen credit for a subscriber watching a recording of the media presentation using VOD, the recording must be almost the same as the live version of the media presentation which includes the original program content and the commercial advertisements shown during commercial breaks. However, some shows also include promotional content that a telecommunication or cable provider adds to the media presentation to promote other shows or events being broadcasted later. By the time the user views the recording, however, the promotional content may already be outdated. The embodiments herein describe techniques for removing time-dependent promotional content from a media presentation before the recording of the media presentation is sent to VOD providers.
Methods, systems, and devices for securing content
Methods, systems, and devices secure content in memory. The content includes a lock that prohibits reading the content from memory. Prior to expiration of the lock the content cannot be read from memory. However, a preview option allows at least a portion of the content to be accessed. The preview option provides a preview of the content. At expiration, the content is readable.
Method for transmitting and receiving broadcast service and receiving device thereof
The present invention relates to a control device and a control target device, and particularly, to a method for transmitting a content list of a control target device and a control device. A method for allowing a control point device to receive a content list from a control target device, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: transmitting a content list request message to the control target device; receiving a response message which includes a fragment of the content list; and displaying the content list based on the fragment, wherein the fragment includes a plurality of content objects corresponding to the number of content objects for one content list fragment.
