A television and system and method for providing a remote control device are disclosed. In one embodiment of the television, the television includes a processor, a memory, a tuner, a panel, and an audio driver therein in an interconnected architecture. The television may establish a pairing with a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device, such as a proximate wireless-enabled interactive handheld device having a touch screen display, whereby formatted parallel audiovisual experience instructions, including virtual buttons, may be transmitted to the proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device for display on the touch screen display to create an experience parallel to the experience on the television. The television receives and processes virtual remote control functionality input instructions from the proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device to control amenities associated with the television.

Recommending and activating scenes in a multimedia system are provided. The techniques of the present disclosure can allow the states of the components in the multimedia system to be captured in a scene. Once the scene has been saved, the scene can be activated at a later time. A controller device for recommending scenes by comparing the current state with states of components in saved scenes is also provided. The controller device can also determine if media is playing in a current scene, and activate a selected scene without playing the media content. Once the selected scene is activated, the media playing in the current scene can be switched, and the media playing in the selected scene can be played.

Disclosed are a display apparatus and a method of controlling the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes: a signal receiver configured to receive a broadcasting signal; a display configured to display an image based on the received broadcasting signal; a sound receiver configured to receive a sound spoken by a user; a first sound recognizer configured to be supplied with power when the display apparatus is in a standby mode, and determine whether the received sound is a reserved word candidate having a high probability of corresponding to a reserved word; a second sound recognizer configured to be supplied with power when the received sound is determined as the reserved word candidate and to determine whether the received sound is the reserved word; and a controller configured to control the preset operation to be performed when the received sound is determined as the reserved word.

A speech recognition engine is provided voice data indicative of at least a brand of a target appliance. The speech recognition engine uses the voice data indicative of at least a brand of the target appliance to identify within a library of codesets at least one codeset that is cross-referenced to the brand of the target appliance. The at least one codeset so identified is then caused to be provisioned to the controlling device for use in commanding functional operations of the target appliance.

Provided are a computer processing device and a method for providing coordinate compensation and determining errors by using user profile information based on force inputs. The computer processing device includes an information collector unit and an analysis unit. The information collector unit collects information on various inputs entered on a key of a remote control. From among the inputs entered on a same key, the analysis unit compensates an input that corresponds to a level lying in-between a first level and a second level, the first level corresponding to a normal input and the second level corresponding to a force input, in such a way that the input is compensated to be a normal input or a force input. Here, the force input is an input entered with a greater pressure or a larger area than for the normal input on the key of the remote control.

A wireless hub is configured to receive a plurality of video channels and to present the plurality of video channels on at least one display as a wide-angle video. The wireless hub is further configured to graphically display a plurality of speaker positions and control configuration of speakers of the speaker positions based on a provided speaker configuration parameter. The wireless hub is configured to transfer data with a plurality of wireless devices and display data from the wireless devices on the display screen and to communicate with a cellular phone and display on the display device caller ID information of an incoming telephone call on the at least one display device. The wireless hub is further configured to receive voice command information and control devices of the wireless hub system in response to the received voice commands.

A method is implemented to move media content display between two media output devices. A server system determines in a voice message recorded by an electronic device a media transfer request that includes a user voice command to transfer media content to a destination media output device and a user voice designation of the destination media output device. The server system then obtains from a source cast device instant media play information including information of a media play application, the media content that is being played, and a temporal position. The server system further identifies a destination cast device associated in a user domain coupled to the destination media output device, and sends to the destination cast device a media play request including the instant media play information, thereby enabling the destination cast device to execute the media play application for playing the media content from the temporal location.

A method for controlling a display device includes establishing a data link between the display device and a hardware dongle, generating a second interface by the display device through the hardware dongle after the data link is established, generating a control signal by the display device through the second interface, and executing at least one function according to the control signal. A first interface is stored in the display device. The first interface and the second interface are different. At least one first function is supported by the display device. At least one second function is supported by the hardware dongle. The at least one first function and the at least one second function are integrated for generating the second interface by the display device after the data link is established.

The present invention relates to an image display device. The image display device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a display; an interface to exchange data with an external server; and a controller to execute a web browser according to a web screen display input, to control a first webpage to be displayed on the display based on data received from a server, and when a first link item in the first webpage is selected, to control the first webpage to be displayed in a first area and a second webpage corresponding to the first link item to be displayed in a second area adjacent to the first area. Thereby, it is possible to display a plurality of webpages on a single screen.

An image processing device and a method for displaying a force input of a remote controller with a three dimensional image are disclosed. The image processing device comprises a receiving unit for receiving a control signal including information concerning a normal input or a force input to a key of a remote controller, and a processor for outputting information concerning a three dimensional imaginary entity for notifying of the force input when the control signal including the information concerning the force input is received, and removing the three dimensional imaginary entity when an input to the key of the remote controller is changed to the normal input while the force input remains. The three dimensional imaginary entity for notifying of the force input exists, a three dimensional imaginary entity for notifying of the normal input does not exist.
