Candidate link locating by a wireless terminal

A link locating assisting device in a wireless communication network (10) obtains search limitation data concerning the wireless communication network and sends the search limitation data (SLD) to the wireless terminal (12) via a serving network node (14) and a serving link (SLK) for use in obtaining limitations for limiting a search for a set of candidate links (CLK1, CLK2, CLK3). The wireless terminal (12) obtains the search limitation data (SLD), sets limitations for a link search based on the search limitation data, search for candidate links starting with a current link search setting used with the serving link (SLK), and continues searching for candidate links with an offset from the current link search setting that grows with every search until the search limitations have been met.

CELLULAR NETWORK AREA OPTIMIZER

The described technology is generally directed towards a cellular network area optimizer. The area optimizer observes cellular network conditions at multiple radio access network (RAN) nodes within a target area. Based on observed conditions, the area optimizer applies a set of parameter values at the multiple RAN nodes. The set of parameter values enhances the overall throughput, while maintaining or improving connection retainability and accessibility, of the multiple RAN nodes under the observed conditions. The area optimizer learns different sets of parameter values to apply in response to different observed conditions by making parameter value adjustments and observing the effect of the adjustments on overall throughput of the RAN nodes in the target area.

Systems and methods for load control of a user device during network congestion

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a device may receive traffic data associated with a coverage area and determine that there is network congestion. If there is network congestion, the device may identify a high-consumption user device. The device may perform a corrective action in connection with a load of the high-consumption user device, such as limit a throughput of the high-consumption user device. The device may perform a corrective action based on a policy obtained from a policy and control function.

Apparatus and method for balancing traffic load using inter-site carrier aggregation

A method for selecting a serving cell by a user equipment (UE) to which the inter-site carrier aggregation (CA) technology is according to the intensity of a reception signal of each carrier wave is provided. However, in order to improve resource usage and a throughput of the entire cells, a method is performed in which a PCell and an SCell are selected considering the intensity of a reception signal and a load between cells, the SCell is activated, and loads of the PCell and the SCell are adjusted. The method can balance an inter-cell traffic load, and eventually, increase usage of the entirety of a network and improve a throughput.

RESOURCE UTILIZATION BASED EVENT TRIGGERING IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support resource utilization based event triggering. A wireless node in a wireless communications system may establish a connection with a core network via a path that includes one or more relay nodes. The wireless node may determine that a network load associated with one or more paths between the wireless node and the core network has changed, or that a difference between two or more network loads of different paths has changed. Based on such a determination, the wireless node may transmit a report to the network. In some cases, the network may receive the report from the wireless node, and may initiate a path change based on the report.

The described technology is generally directed towards adaptive spectrum as a service, in which spectrum can be dynamically allocated to adapt to demand for wireless capacity. The demand for wireless capacity can be based on monitoring system state, and/or proactively predicted based on other system state such as time of day. Reallocated spectrum can be monitored for performance, to converge spectrum allocation to a more optimal state. Allocated spectrum can be relocated, increased or decreased, including by the use of citizens band radio service spectrum or other spectrum. Currently allocated spectrum can be adapted into modified allocated spectrum by an application program (xApp) coupled to a radio access network intelligent controller (RIC), a citizens broadband radio service device, a domain proxy service, and/or a user device.
