Method and System for Local Area Data Network (LADN) Selection Based on Dynamic Network Conditions
According to certain embodiments, a method for use in a network node comprises receiving a request to connect a session of a wireless device. The wireless device is located in a service area of a Local Area Data Network (LADN) and a subscription associated with the wireless device permits access to the LADN. The method further comprises determining whether to select the LADN for the session. The determining is based on one or more factors associated with the LADN. The one or more factors comprise at least one of the following: loading conditions, service quality, historic data, and subscriber priority. The method further comprises sending, to another network node, a message indicating whether the LADN has been selected for the session.
Intelligence and Learning in O-RAN for 5G and 6G Cellular Networks
A radio access network (RAN) intelligent controller (RIC) and corresponding method may be implemented within RAN and in next-generation cellular networks to improve performance. The RIC comprises an interface to a RAN and further comprises a data-driven logic unit. The data-driven logic unit (i) produces, based on data received from the RAN via the interface, a representation describing a state of the RAN and (ii) based on the representation describing the state, instructs an action associated with at least one network element. The interface transmits a message based on the action instructed. The message is to be routed to the at least one network element. The representation is based on a context of the RAN. The message transmitted enabling re-configuration of the at least one network element. The re-configuration improves performance of the at least one network element within the context.
Control device, communication device, control method, and non-transitory computer readable medium
A distributing control unit performs provisional switching control processing to a distributing unit when a link in use for first data units is a first link and a candidate link to be used is a second link. For example, the distributing control unit distributes at least one of the data units of the first data units of the data stream to the second link and distributes other data units to the first link. A determining unit determines whether or not a link in use for second data units subsequent to the first data units is to be switched from the first link to the second link based on first and second communication qualities, the first and second communication qualities being based on feedback information. The first and second communication qualities are communication qualities of the other data units and the at least one of the data units, respectively.
Distributed user plane functions for radio-based networks
Disclosed are various embodiments that provide distributed user plane functions for radio-based networks. In one embodiment, data is received from a client device connected to a radio access network of a radio-based network. The data is forwarded to a user plane component of a user plane function. The user plane component is implemented in a computing device of the radio access network. The data is processed by the user plane component. The data that has been processed is then routed to a data network.
Method and system for multi-operator anchor service
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a multi-operator anchor service is provided. A multi-operator anchor device may provide a centralized user plane anchor for traffic of end devices associated with multiple networks and operators. The multi-operator anchor device may provide virtual routing and forwarding to isolate traffic among the networks and operators. The multi-operator anchor device may provide a charging service for traffic and a handover service based on end device mobility.
Systems and methods for differentiated traffic treatment for different traffic types associated with multi-persona applications
A system described herein may provide a technique for the differentiated Quality of Service (“QoS”) treatment of different traffic types associated with the same application (e.g., a “multi-persona” application) by a wireless network, without the exposure of an application identifier of the application to the wireless network. The application may provide a traffic type indication, based on which a User Equipment (“UE”) may establish one or more QoS flows or other types of communication sessions with the wireless network, where the QoS flows or other types of communication sessions are associated with a network slice that is associated with the traffic type. The communication sessions may include Data Radio Bearers (“DRBs”), backhaul links, protocol data unit (“PDU”) sessions, or other suitable types of communication sessions.
CONDITIONAL SUPPLEMENTARY LINK ACTIVATION AND TRANSMISSION
A method and apparatus for conditional supplementary link activation and transmission in a wireless communication system is provided. A wireless device configures a primary transmission link and at least one supplementary transmission link. The primary transmission link is activated. The wireless device configures a first condition and a second condition. The wireless device determines that the first condition is met upon which the at least one supplementary transmission link is activated. The wireless device performs transmission by using at least one of activated transmission links based on whether the second condition is met.
Methods and devices for load balancing across band-width parts
The present disclosure provides a method (200) in a terminal device for load balancing across Band-Width Parts, BWPs, in a carrier. The method (200) includes: determining (210) a set of random access capable BWPs in the carrier; and selecting (220) a camping BWP for the terminal device randomly from the set of random access capable BWPs.
Apparatuses and methods for 5G session management (5GSM) procedure enhancement
A method, executed by a User Equipment (UE) communicatively connected to a mobile communication network, is provided. The method may include the following steps: receiving a first 5G Session Management (5GSM) message including one mapped Evolved Packet System (EPS) bearer context for an inter-system change from the mobile communication network; determining whether the mapped EPS bearer context has invalid or missing parameters; and sending a second 5GSM message to the mobile communication network to delete the mapped EPS bearer context in response to the mapped EPS bearer context has one or more invalid or missing parameters.
Policy Control Method, Device, And System
A policy control method, a device, and a system, the method including receiving, by a session management network element, from a policy control network element, LAN traffic steering information corresponding to a first application, selecting one or more user plane network elements based on the LAN traffic steering information, determining policy rules corresponding to each user play network element of the user plane network elements, the policy rules being associated with steering data of the first application sent by an upstream network element, where the policy rules are further associated with sending data processed by the local application server for the first application in the target LAN to a downstream network element, and sending, by the session management network element, the corresponding policy rules to each user plane network element of the one or more user plane network elements.
