Tourniquet devices configured in accordance with several embodiments of the disclosure can include, for example, a strap having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, a buckle assembly connected to the proximal end portion, and a pulley assembly movably coupled to the strap. Tourniquet devices configured in accordance with the technology can be easily applied because the pulley assemblies can reduce the force a user must exert on the tourniquet devices to constrict or occlude blood flow at a specific artery. Additionally, tourniquet devices disclosed herein can also serve as functional, wearable items (e.g., a belt, integrated into clothing) such that the tourniquet devices are conveniently stored and readily accessible in emergencies.

Medical device including an artificial contractile structure

A medical device has an artificial contractile structure including at least one contractile element adapted to contract a hollow body organ in such a way that said contractile element is adapted to be in a resting position or in an activated position, the activated position being defined with the contractile element constricting the hollow body organ and the resting position being defined with the contractile element not constricting the hollow body organ. The medical device further includes a tensioning device adapted to apply a force so as to tighten the contractile element around the hollow body organ, the tensioning device having a flexible transmission with a tensioning element arranged in a sheath. The sheath has an inner coiled wire coiled in a first direction, and an outer coiled wire surrounding the inner coiled wire and coiled in a second direction opposite to said first direction.

FASTENING FOR ELASTIC BAND

A fastening for an elastic band comprising an attachment for a first end of the band and a cleat comprising a cleat slot into which a second end of the band can be jammed, and such a fastening in combination with an elastic band, which may constitute a tourniquet.

A tourniquet includes a support structure with a slot at one end for receiving a strap and a gate opposite the at least one strap slot for retaining a windlass relative to the support structure. A first end of the strap is threaded through the windlass and the slot and is attached back upon itself to form a loop. The second free end of the strap is configured to wrap around an extremity, through the slot and secured back to itself. Winding the windlass relative to the support structure causes the strap to twist between the windlass and the support structure to tighten the strap around the extremity. One end of the windlass can then be inserted through the gate to hold the windlass relative to the support structure.

Simplified field use junctional tourniquets

A junctional tourniquet apparatus and related methods of use. An exemplary tourniquet has an inverted cone shape, wherein a narrower end has a mushroom shaped base that is pressed against a compression target and a broader end has a plurality of pass-through slots for straps. Another exemplary tourniquet has a broad plate component and a handle component. The handle component has a mushroom shaped base on a first end and a handle on a second end. The handle component passes through the center of the plate component with threads that allow the handle component to compress a target by twisting the handle.

WINDLASS PEN

A tourniquet includes windlass having a cavity and a writing instrument configured to be stored in the cavity. The writing instrument is retained in the cavity through a friction fit and without threads, such that a frictional force decreases as the writing instrument is removed from the cavity.

RADIAL COMPRESSION BAND

A radial compression band employs a substantially rigid U-like cuff that fits over a patient's arm and then snaps onto a tightening band. A movable bubble member is positioned for movement along the band separate from the attachment to the patient and is inflatable to provide pressure to an incision or the like to accomplish hemostasis.

TOURNIQUET AND METHOD THEREOF HAVING COMPLIANCE LOGGING FEATURE, AND A SYSTEM THEREOF

A tourniquet, a method thereof, and a system thereof that can secure logging of compliance with an external communication apparatus, which marries two segregated steps of infusing and logging. The tourniquet has a controller that monitors compliance based on signals received from various switches/sensors that indicate whether a clasp has been inserted in the buckle and thereafter whether a strap is applying pressure, and the clasp has been released within a predetermined time after the clasp has been inserted. The controller initiates communication with the external communication apparatus. Upon receiving a log successful communication from the external communication apparatus, the controller alerts the user that the logging was successful or compliance has been met.

TOURNIQUET DEVICE

The tourniquet device includes a pressure plate, a winding rod, a control rod, a dial, a locking rod, and a strap. The winding rod and has a ratchet at one end. A ratchet is provided around a bottom end of the control rod engaging the ratchet of the winding rod. The dial is fixedly joined to the control rod, and locking holes are provided on the bottom side of the dial. The locking rod is for locking the dial. The strap has a first end fixedly connected to a buckle and a second end threaded through the slits of the pressure plate and then through the buckle and back. A fastener patch is attached to the strap, and a tightening band has a first end fixedly joined to the strap between the buckle and the fastener patch and a second end is threaded through the slit of the winding rod.

Radial artery compression device

A radial artery compression device configured to be secured to a wrist or other portion of a patient to provide adjustable and consistent compression pressure in the area of a radial artery access site or other physiological portion of a patient to achieve hemostasis either during or after a medical procedure such as a percutaneous coronary procedure. The radial artery compression device includes a rotatable member and a compression pad adapted such that rotation of the rotatable member does not affect the rotational orientation of the compression pad. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a single rotation of the rotatable member results in complete extension or retraction of the radial artery compression device. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the rotation of the rotatable member results in a compounding of the extension or retraction of the compression pad relative to the body of the radial artery compression device.
