PATELLA CUTTING GUIDE
20220330953 · 2022-10-20 ·

A guide is disclosed that operates to guide in the creation of a bone spur to facilitate harvesting a quadriceps tendon and includes an end having a width equal to a desired graft width with a terminal slope equal to a cutting angle desired. In use, the guide may be initially positioned parallel to the femur to form guide cuts in the patella. The guide is then rotated ninety degrees to allow an angled cut at the guide cut. The guide is again rotated, this time one hundred eighty degrees and a second angled cut made on the other guide cut. A final lateral cut is made and the bone spur may be lifted from the patella.

AUTOMATED LASER CUTTING STATION FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SEMIFINISHED COMPONENTS, SEMI-FINISHED COMPONENT AND RELATIVE PRODUCTION METHOD
20220040798 · 2022-02-10 · ·

An automated laser cutting station for the production of semi-finished components for prosthetic surgery instruments able, in use, to carry out tissue removal processes. Said automated station comprises at least a first automated operator, a laser cutting apparatus, and a control unit. The present invention also relates to a relative method for the production of such a semi-finished component, and to the semi-finished component thus obtained.

PATELLA TRACKING METHOD AND SYSTEM

A computer-implemented method of improving a patello-femoral response is described. A computing system characterizes an anterior geometry of a patella and determines a position of a posterior apex of the patella in relation to one or more features of the anterior geometry of the patella. The computing system further receives location information related to the patella as a knee joint is moved through a range of motion. The computing system provides one or more recommendations to improve a patello-femoral response.

Disclosed herein are methods, compositions and tools for repairing articular surfaces repair materials and for repairing an articular surface. The articular surface repairs are customizable or highly selectable by patient and geared toward providing optimal fit and function. The surgical tools are designed to be customizable or highly selectable by patient to increase the speed, accuracy and simplicity of performing total or partial arthroplasty.

SURGICAL GUIDANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH INDICATOR LIGHT

A surgical system includes a surgical tool, a tracking system configured to obtain tracking data indicative of positions of the surgical tool relative to an anatomical feature, an indicator light configured to emit light, and a computer system programmed to control the indicator light to change a color of the light based on the tracking data.

Acetabular/patellar/glenoid/calcar reamer cutting tooth arrangment with depth-of-cut control feature

An orthopaedic reamer includes a shell and a cutting tooth arrangement formed in the shell. The cutting tooth arrangement includes a cutting tooth having a predefined profile with a cutting edge having a cutting depth, and a depth-of-cut feature positioned forward of the cutting tooth, relative to a direction of movement of the shell at the location of the cutting tooth. The depth-of-cut feature has a control depth which controls a cutting depth of the cutting tooth during surgery.

PATELLA JOYSTICK AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF

The disclosure provides a patella joystick for tilting a knee cap in an operation of knee arthroscopy and a method of using the patella joystick. The patella joystick can include a handle, a shank, a tapered portion, and a screw portion. The tapered portion has a diminishing diameter and provides a structural transition between the shank and the screw portion. The screw portion can include a thread and a screw point. The thread can have a buttress form, and the screw point can have an inverted cone shape with a cone angle of at or about 90°. The method of using the patella joystick can include: drilling a pilot hole into the patella; screwing the patella joystick onto the pilot hole; and holding the patella joystick to tilt and/or lift the knee cap.

SURGICAL GUIDANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD

A method of generating resection data for use in planning an arthroplasty procedure on a patient bone covered at least partially in cartilage includes receiving a three-dimensional patient bone model comprising a bone model surface, and correlated with a position and orientation of the patient bone via a navigation system. The method further includes identifying a target region on the bone model surface of the model for intra-operative registration, and receiving location data for a first plurality of points based on the intra-operative registration of the cartilage on the patient bone in locations corresponding to points within the target region on the bone model surface. The method further includes determining resection depth based at least in part on the location data for the first plurality of points; and generating resection data using the resection depth, the resection data configured to be utilized by the navigation system during the arthroplasty procedure.

Methods and apparatuses including a patellar implant are disclosed. The patellar implant can include a member, an articulation component and a connection mechanism. The member can be configured to engage a osteotimized surface of a patella. The articulation component can have an articulation surface that can be configured to articulate with a femoral prosthesis along a patellar groove. The connection mechanism can connect the articulation component with the member and can be configured to allow for at least one of removal and translational movement of the articulation component relative to the member and patella.
