OSTEOTOMY PLATE, PLATE DRIVER AND METHOD FOR THEIR USE
An orthopedic plate is specifically configured for use in osteotomies, in which part of the plate extends into a portion of a first bone segment and part is external to the cortical surface of an adjacent bone segment to fix the segments to allow them to fuse. The plate has a first end and a second end where the end which is inserted into the bone has a chamfer and a through hole having a hole axis optionally at an oblique angle to the longitudinal axis of the plate, and which can receive a screw, peg or pin. The second end of the plate includes a locking screw hole and optionally including a compression slot extending in a direction toward a screw hole in the opposing end. Optionally, the non-locking hole has a shroud that forms an arc or portion of a cylinder over the hole. A plate driver having a recess that holds the plate is used to insert the plate into the bone.
INTRAOSSEOUS INTRAMEDULLARY FIXATION ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF USE
An intramedullary assembly for intraosseous bone fusion includes a lag screw member and a tapered screw member. The lag screw member includes a first elongated body, where the first elongated body includes a first threaded portion at a first end and a bulbous portion at a second end. The tapered screw member is coupled to the lag screw member, and the tapered screw member includes a second elongated body, where the second elongated body includes a second threaded portion at a third end, and an opening at a fourth end.
Prosthesis
A prosthesis for primary artrodhesis can be used for artroplasty and a prosthesis for artroplasty comprises members for artrodhesis. The prosthesis (1b) for primary artrodhesis comprises a locking member (33b) with an attachment portion (16b) which is insertable into a hole (8b) in a first attachment member (4b) of the prosthesis for location of the locking member therein, and a lockable member (34b) integral with a second attachment member (5b) of the prosthesis. The lockable member (34b) is configured for adjustable setting thereof relative to the locking member (33b) and for fixation thereof, in set position, to the locking member. Alternatively, the lockable member comprises an attachment portion which is insertable into a hole in the second attachment member for location of the lockable member therein. At the prosthesis for artroplasty, the hole in the first screw-like attachment member is partly configured to define a press fit with an attachment pin of a socket member and partly threaded to permit, after removal of the socket member, during artrodhesis, securing by screwing in the hole of the locking member for cooperation with a lockable member which is configured for adjustable setting thereof relative to the locking member and for fixation thereof, in set position, to the locking member.
Apparatus and methods for bone repair preparation
Apparatus and methods for preparing a fractured bone for repair. Preparing the bone may include fracture reduction. Preparing the bone may include holding a fracture in reduction. Preparing the bone may include identifying locations for obtaining access to an interior region of the bone. The apparatus may include structures outside the bone that interact with fragments of the bone. The structures may participate in the reduction. The structures may participate in holding the reduction. The structures may participate in identifying the locations.
Targeting guide with a radiopaque marker to facilitate positioning a bone plate on bone
Bone fixation system, including methods, apparatus, and kits, and comprising a bone plate and at least one instrument that attaches to the bone plate and provides at least one radiopaque region to facilitate positioning the bone plate on bone visualized by radiographic imaging. The instrument may be a handle assembly and/or a targeting guide.
Intramedullary implant with proximal plate and method for its use
An orthopedic implant is specifically configured for use in osteotomies, in which part of the implant extends into an intramedullary portion of a first bone segment and a plate portion is external to the cortical surface of an adjacent bone segment to fix the segments to allow them to fuse. The body of the implant has a first end and a second end where the end which is inserted into the bone has a chamfer and a through hole having a hole axis optionally at an oblique angle to the longitudinal axis of the implant, and which can receive a screw, peg or pin. The second end of the implant includes a plate portion with at least two offset screws.
COMPACT ORTHOPEDIC ANTI-ROTATION DEVICE
Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems, methods, and apparatus for immobilizing and/or securing bone portions. Particularly, at least one embodiment involves a compact anti-rotation device that can secure adjacent bones and/or bone portions in a manner that prevents or limits relative rotational movement thereof.
GROOVED SLOT ALLOWING ADJUSTMENT OF THE POSITION OF A BONE FIXATION DEVICE FOR OSTEOSYNTHESIS
A grooved slot is provided in a bone fixation device for osteosynthesis that permits adjustment of the bone fixation device relative to the bone, before the bone fixation device is finally fixed to the bone. The grooves are formed on the two longitudinally extending, facing walls of the slot, with the grooves on a first side wall of the slot having a vertical displacement of exactly one-half pitch relative to the grooves on the second, opposite side wall of the slot
VOLAR DISTAL RADIUS STABILIZATION SYSTEM
Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially volar distal radius stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion, an enlarged head portion, and a transition region connecting the elongated portion to the enlarged head portion, and the plate including a plurality of through holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and into the bone. The plate may be used to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a radius.
