VOLAR FIXATION SYSTEM INCLUDING GUIDE
A volar fixation system includes a plate intended to be positioned against the volar side of the radial bone. The plate includes threaded holes for receiving fasteners which lock relative to the plate.
Osteotomy plate, plate driver and method for their use
An orthopedic plate is specifically configured for use in osteotomies, in which part of the plate extends into a portion of a first bone segment and part is external to the cortical surface of an adjacent bone segment to fix the segments to allow them to fuse. The plate has a first end and a second end where the end which is inserted into the bone has a chamfer and a through hole having a hole axis optionally at an oblique angle to the longitudinal axis of the plate, and which can receive a screw, peg or pin. The second end of the plate includes a locking screw hole and optionally including a compression slot extending in a direction toward a screw hole in the opposing end. Optionally, the non-locking hole has a shroud that forms an arc or portion of a cylinder over the hole. A plate driver having a recess that holds the plate is used to insert the plate into the bone.
External Fixator, Kit Comprising the Same, and Method of Fixation
The present invention provides an external fixator (1) for fixation of a joint, such as a proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint of a finger, and a kit comprising a congruent pair of such external fixators (1). The external fixator (1) comprises a rigid planar member made of a radio-transparent material. The planar member comprises a circular through hole (6) and a rectilinear main slot (10), which is radially aligned with the through hole (6). The external fixator (1) may also comprise a circular arc (8) of radio-opaque material centred on the through hole (6), a tail (14) to aid in its manipulation, and one or more subsidiary slots (20). The main and subsidiary slots (10, 20) have dentilated inner surfaces. In addition to a congruent pair of external fixators (1), the kit may further comprise a plurality of Kirschner wires and one or more stoppers (not shown). In use, the pair of external fixators are placed transversely on each lateral side of a patient's finger, a first one of the Kirschner wires is inserted through the through holes (6) in each external fixator (1) and through the condyle or head of the proximal phalanx. A second one of the Kirschner wires is inserted through the main slot (10) in each external fixator (1) and through the middle phalanx. The third Kirschner wire is inserted through a convenient one of the subsidiary slots (20) in each external fixator (1) and through, over or under the middle phalanx or a fragment thereof. Movement of the second Kirschner wire along the main slots (10) in the direction of arrow D can be used to apply a distraction force to the joint. Movement of the third Kirschner wire along the one of the subsidiary slots (20) towards the main slot (10) can be used to reduce subluxation of the middle phalanx or a fragment thereof. The one or more stoppers, which engage with the dentilated inner surfaces of the main and subsidiary slots (10, 20), prevent backwards movement of the Kirschner wires along the main and/or subsidiary slots (10, 20) thereafter. The invention also provides a method which comprises providing a congruent pair of such external fixators (1) for use in a surgical operation.
Bone fusion plate and system and method for its use in the wrist
The present invention relates to a crescent or tri-corner shaped orthopedic plate with at least a first and a second end, and generally coextensive top and bottom surfaces joined directly or indirectly by an edge. The plate includes a plurality of fixation holes the first end of the plate and a second end of the plate that receives locking screws and intermediate the two holes, the plate includes a recess that defines a screw hole edge at an angle relative to the top surface of the plate so as to receive and support a screw in the recess. The invention further relates to a method of fusion using the plate and a clamp designed for the method.
SHOE FOR HELPING TO POSITION AND FIX A SURGICAL IMPLANT
The invention relates to a shoe (1) for helping to position and fix a surgical implant which is intended to be attached to osseous bodies of a patient, for example those of the forearm, said shoe (1) having a main body (24) and being characterized in that said main body (24) has: at least one radiolucent zone (25) and at least one radiopaque zone (26), and means (27) for positioning said shoe (1) with respect to the surgical implant in a predetermined relative position, so as to allow monitoring of the positioning of said implant with respect to said osseous bodies of the patient.
Devices for helping to fit surgical osteosynthesis implants in place.

Method of using a volar bone plate on a fracture
A volar fixation system includes a plate intended to be positioned against the volar side of the radial bone. The plate includes threaded holes for receiving fasteners which lock relative to the plate.
ADJUSTABLE BONE PLATES
Bone plates having an adjustable joint, and methods of using the bone plates to fix bones.
Spring-Fit Surgical Guides
Various embodiments of devices, systems, and methods for surgical procedures, including spring-fit guides for improved guidance of surgical instruments, are disclosed.
Wrist arthroplasty system and method
The present disclosure provides for a wrist arthroplasty system and method that enable an expedient surgical procedure, maintain wrist motion, and reduce the likelihood of implant loosening. The system includes a capitate implant, a radial implant, and a resection instrument. The capitate implant includes a convex head formed to interface with a concave socket of the radial implant. The capitate implant includes a single stem formed to be secured within a patient's capitate bone. The radial implant includes lips formed to increase wrist joint motion and to help prevent dislocation of the capitate implant from the radial implant. The resection instrument may be used in combination as a measurement tool for determining the proper implant size, a guide for properly positioning the implants, and a trial tool for testing trial implant components before securing the final radial and capitate implants.
