A flexible plastic, resin or polymer material forming a trial plate for use is surgery of bones including spine and extremities. The trial plate having at least one radioopaque region and which may have one radiolucent region. In some instances a main body includes one or more arms formed of subparts. Between the main body and subparts and between the subparts are rangible regions such a ribs or unbroken edges surrounding windows configured as predetermined break points to disassociate portions of an arm from the whole.

A sterile staple implant system is provided for use during a surgery. The staple implant system comprises a group of complementary surgery-specific instruments that are packaged in a sterile state. An instrument tray is configured to preserve the instruments in the sterile state until the staple implant system is opened during the surgery. The instrument tray is configured to provide the surgeon with easy access to the instruments during the surgery. The staple implant system comprises at least a staple inserter and a surgical staple suitable for being implanted in parallel holes drilled across a bone fusion or fixation site of a patient. The surgical staple preferably is loaded in a relaxed configuration into the staple inserter. A staple retention clip retains the surgical staple in the staple inserter until the staple is distracted during the surgery.

Surgical device and method for performing arthrodesis

A surgical device and method for performing arthrodesis are disclosed. The device includes a bone fixation plate, a jig, and a guiding unit. The plate has several fastener-accommodating apertures. The jig has a base for engaging the plate with several bolt-accommodating apertures positioned to align with the plate apertures and a cannulated guide attached to the jig's arm. The cannulated guide has a bore. The arm is oriented at an oblique angle relative to the jig's base. The guiding unit has a first end with a wire guide tube and a drill guide tube affixed to its second end. The wire guide tube and the drill guide tube have an outer diameter with a diameter less than the inner diameter of the cannulated guide of the jig so as to enter into the cannulated guide for the fusion process.

TRAJECTORY GUIDE

A trajectory guide is provided for determining the trajectory of a compression screw relative to a previously implanted screw located within an orthopaedic plate. The guide is adapted to releasably position a drill guide in spaced-apart relation to an orthopaedic plate having previously implanted first screws such that the guide defines a trajectory for a compression screw that is nonintersecting with the first screws.

METHODS, INSTRUMENTS AND IMPLANTS FOR SCAPHO-LUNATE RECONSTRUCTION

A method for bone reconstruction includes aligning a first bone with a second bone using a plurality of guidewires to correct rotational deformity of the first and second bones. A first module of a targeting apparatus is positioned in proximity to the first bone. A tip of the first module is engaged with the first bone. A second module of the targeting apparatus is positioned in proximity to the second bone. A tip of the second module is engaged with the second bone. Alignment of the first module and the second module is secured. The alignment is verified using a guidewire, the guidewire wire is inserted through a passage extending through the second module. A length between the first bone and the second bone is determined using a depth gauge. An implant is selected based on the determined length for delivery along the passage extending through the second module.

Surgical Targeting Device

Disclosed is a surgical targeting device for assisting placement of an elongated guidance member in a bone. The targeting device comprises a bottom portion having a dome-shaped convex outer surface and comprising a guidance through-hole extending along a guidance through-hole central axis for receiving the guidance member. A top portion of the targeting device is configured to be gripped by a tool. Further, a surgical system is disclosed which comprises the surgical targeting device.

Minimally invasive bone fracture positioning device

A minimally invasive bone fracture positioning device includes a sleeve, a movable unit, and a support. The sleeve includes an alignment portion located on a longitudinal axis of the sleeve. The movable unit includes a positioning portion. The positioning portion is located on the longitudinal axis and is spaced from the alignment portion. The movable unit is mounted in a radial direction of the sleeve. The movable unit is slideable relative to the sleeve along the longitudinal axis. A support is coupled to the sleeve and the movable unit. The movable unit is spaced from the sleeve by the support.

BONE CUT GUIDE APPARATUS AND METHOD

A bone cut guide includes a first portion having a first cut slot and having an aperture for receiving a wire to connect the first portion to a first bone. A second portion has a second cut slot and a second aperture for receiving a second wire to connect the second portion to a second bone. The first portion and the second portion are movably connected to each other to allow the first bone and the second bone to move relative to each other.
