Surgical clamp and clamp jaw
11925372 · 2024-03-12 · ·

A surgical clamp jaw is disclosed, having an inner profile and a deflection control profile opposite the inner profile. In one embodiment, the inner profile has a first substantially concave profile in an unclamped position and a second substantially flat profile in a clamped position. In one embodiment, the deflection control profile has one or more sets of corresponding abutment surfaces, at least one set of which is not contacting each other when the inner profile is in the unclamped position and which is contacting each other when the inner profile is in the clamped position. In one embodiment, the surgical clamp jaw defines one or more flexion assistance voids, wherein at least one of the one or more flexion assistance voids is in contact with a gap between one of the one or more sets of corresponding abutment surfaces.

Surgical shunt assembly tool

The present disclosure provides a surgical shunt assembly tool that provides a more efficacious grip on the catheter tubes and prevent the tip of the catheter from buckling while the catheter is pushed onto the tip of the valve during installation of shunts during CSF shunt surgery. The tool includes standard handles such as used in a shodded mosquito tool having a clamping jaw integrated into the distal end section of the handle. The distal jaw includes two forcep jaw sections each having a proximal end integrally formed with a distal end of a distal end arm section of one of the two handle arms, and a distal end section extending away from the distal end arm section. The distal end sections of the forcep jaw sections are cylindrically shaped such that when the forcep jaw is closed by bringing the two forcep jaw sections together, a cylinder is formed having a diameter substantially equal to a diameter of a catheter tube to be attached to a shunt valve tip. The proximal ends of the forcep jaw sections are oval shaped and have a size such that when the forcep jaw is closed bringing the two forcep jaw sections together, an oval shaped opening is formed having a size smaller than the diameter of the catheter tube such that the catheter tube is squeezed closed to provide a firm grip of the tool of the catheter tube.

SINGLE-IMPULSE, SEMI-MOBILE AND STOPPERED SUTURING DEVICE USED IN NARROW AND DEEP TISSUE PLANES SURGERY

The present invention relates to a surgical device that is defined as a single-impulse suturing device, which allows both suturing and grasping a needle at the opposite end for one time without any need for another tool to retrieve the needle after being passed through a tissue during the suturing process, and it comprises the following characteristics of; allowing a safe and minimal invasive access to narrow and deep surfaces, performing a well-directed suturing from a determined point due to its semi-mobile jaw structure, having a stopper that enables suturing by staying at a distance from neurovascular structures in an invisible area, and allowing a multiple suturing with the same needle. The invention keeps suturing function of the single-impulse devices reserved and develops the same in addition to combining this function with ergonomic size characteristics and practical handle advantages of double-impulse devices.

Double Forceps

Handheld forceps having plural pincers for grasping and holding multiple objects, such as Peanut or Cotton Kittner sponges, at the same time are disclosed. The handheld forceps include opposing arms having proximal and distal ends. A hinge connects the opposing arms together between the proximal and distal ends. The opposing arms articulate relative to each other about the hinge. A handle portion at the proximal ends of the opposing arms has an open and closed position for articulating the distal ends open and closed. Distal ends are configured with plural pincers whereby jaws are formed between the plural pincers for grasping and holding multiple objects at the same time.

Protection Measures for Robotic Electrosurgical Instruments

A method of operating a surgical tool includes positioning the surgical tool adjacent a patient for operation, the surgical tool including a wrist having a distal clevis rotatably coupled to a proximal clevis, a shaft or the shaft adapter coupled to the proximal clevis, and an end effector having one or more jaw members rotatably mounted to the distal clevis. Portions of the wrist and the end effector are insulated with a protective sleeve having a distal end and a proximal end and defining an aperture at the distal end through which the one or more jaw members protrude. When the protective sleeve moves axially from an assembled position to a migrated position, a positive indicator is provided.

Manipulator for grasping tissue

A manipulator adapted to grasp and draw tissue comprises first and second arms having proximal ends and distal ends separated by a distance. First and second grasping surfaces each connected to and extending from respective distal ends of the first and second arms are biased toward each other by a respective spring force. When the first and second arms are actuated to reduce the distance, the manipulator is configured such that tissue arranged between the first and second grasping surfaces resist actuation of the first and second arms. The first and second arms are further actuatable to overcome the spring force of the first and second grasping surfaces so that the first and second grasping surfaces pivot at respective pivot points such that the distance between the distal ends of the first and second arms is reduced.
