Packaging systems and methods for mounting a tool on a surgical device
A method for mounting a tool to a surgical device using a packaging body. A proximal section of the packaging body is articulated about a second boundary relative to a first distal section of the packaging body for removing a proximal end of the tool from a proximal cavity for exposing the proximal end. The proximal end is mounted to the surgical device while a distal end of the tool remains securely retained by first and second distal sections of the packaging body within a distal cavity. After mounting, the distal end is released from the distal cavity by articulating one distal section relative to the other distal section for exposing a first portion of the distal end that was retained by the one distal section. Thereafter, the other distal section is removed for exposing a remaining portion of the distal end that was retained by the other distal section.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCING PREPARATION AND COMPLETION OF SURGICAL AND MEDICAL PROCEDURES
Systems and methods for preparing and completing surgical and medical procedures. In particular, kits are provided for improving preparation and completion time for a medical or surgical procedure in which the kit includes modularized compartments containing sterilized medical or surgical equipment and wherein the medical or surgical equipment is organized and/or ordered within the kit to generally correspond to the sequence of steps of the medical or surgical procedure. The kit is particularly applicable to recanalization procedures for stroke patients as well as revascularization procedures for acute myocardial infarction patients where a kit enables faster preparation and completion of these procedures.

APPARATUS AND METHOD TO STOP BLEEDING
A hemostatic device is provided to stop bleeding at a puncture site on the wrist of a patient, the device comprising a transparent flexible band to be wrapped at the site where the bleeding is to be stopped, a curved frame having an inner peripheral side and possessing a first curved portion in its first half and a second curved portion in its second half, a first balloon provided on the inner peripheral side in the first half of the curved frame and a second balloon provided on the inner peripheral side in the second half of the curved frame. The bleeding from a first artery is stopped by compressing the first artery at the puncture site using inflation of the first balloon and the blood flow in the first artery is increased by compression of a second artery using inflation of the second balloon.
SCALPEL HANDLE SHEATH WITH BLADE REMOVER
A scalpel handle sheath includes a body defining a first end and an arm adjacent the first end, the flexible arm having a first boss extending inwardly therefrom and a second boss extending outwardly from the arm. The scalpel handle sheath also includes a shield coupled with the body and slideable between a retracted position and a removal position. The shield defines an edge applying an inward force on the second boss during movement of the shield from the extended position to the removal position and a removal flange extending within the shield and passing the first end of the body during movement of the shield into the removal position.

Packaging Systems And Methods For Mounting A Tool On A Surgical Device
A packaging body for use with an elongated tool that includes a distal cutting bur, a first shaft portion proximal to the distal cutting bur, and a second shaft portion extending from the first shaft portion. The packaging body has a distal casing with first and second distal sections. The distal sections each have a distal cavity being shaped to conform to the distal cutting bur and the first shaft portion. The distal sections are configured to couple to one another to collectively encase the distal cutting bur and the first shaft portion within the distal cavities. The packaging body includes a proximal section with a proximal cavity that is elongated and sized to receive the second shaft portion. A packaged tool assembly can include the packaging body that houses the elongated tool or a sealed pouch that includes the packaging body and the elongated tool disposed therein.

POINT SPECIFIC JUNCTIONAL TOURNIQUET
The present invention is directed to a Point Specific Junctional Tourniquet Kit designed for the treatment of hemorrhage control of junctional injuries to a patient's torso especially in the area of the iliac (hip/groin area) and axillary (shoulder/armpit area) arteries where blood flow is extremely hard to stop. The complete kit contains a variety of components to give caregivers in the military as well as civilian medical caregivers a means for treating a wide variety of severe injuries, in the pre-ambulance environment, increasing the chances of a victim surviving and reaching a higher level of care.
Scalpel handle sheath with blade remover
A scalpel handle sheath includes a body defining a handle-receiving cavity open to a first end of the body through a narrowed sleeve region, the body further defining a flexible arm adjacent the first end with a first boss extending inwardly therefrom adjacent the sleeve region. The sheath further includes a shield coupled with the body and slideable between a retracted position and a removal position. The shield defines an edge applying an inward force on the flexible arm during movement of the shield from toward the retracted position to the removal position and a removal flange extending within the shield and passing the first end of the body during movement of the shield from the toward retracted position to the removal position.
