A trocar assembly for releasable engagement with an adapter assembly of a surgical stapling instrument includes a bearing assembly for distributing the axial load experienced by a drive member during tissue stapling. The bearing assembly is disposed within a housing between a flange of the housing and a flange of a drive member. The bearing assembly is configured to rotatably support the drive member and includes a thrust bearing, a rigid member, and a compressible member disposed between the thrust bearing and the rigid member. The compressible member includes a first compressed condition having a first thickness during a clamping stroke of the surgical stapling instrument and a second compressed condition having a second thickness during a stapling stroke of the surgical stapling instrument. The second thickness is less than the first thickness.

INTERVENTIONAL LOCALIZATION GUIDE AND METHOD FOR MRI GUIDED PELVIC INTERVENTIONS

Interventional localization guides and methods for MRI guided pelvic interventions are disclosed. The interventional localization guides can include a stereotactic perineum positioning device having integrated MR receive coil array and fiducial receive array. The interventional localization guide can also include a physical template for guiding a surgical device, such as a biopsy needle. In various instances, the MRI guided pelvic interventions including co-registering biopsy locations on third party MRI scans.

Injection Site Targeting Device

An apparatus for targeting an injection site using anatomical landmarks includes a first landmark identifier, a second landmark identifier, and a targeting band. The targeting band is connected with the first landmark identifier at a first end and a second landmark identifier at a second end. At least a portion of the targeting band is linearly deformable. In another embodiment, an apparatus for targeting an injection site using anatomical landmarks on a patient includes a targeting band having a first end and a second end, at least a portion of the targeting being linearly deformable, a first landmark identifier pivotably connected to the targeting band at the first end, a second landmark identifier configured to be connected with the second end of the targeting band; and a fastener configured to secure the first and second landmark identifiers to the patient.

Prostate biopsy apparatus

A perineal prostate biopsy apparatus comprising a cannula for reaching a prostate gland of an adult human male through his perineum; and a coaxial needle comprising a hollow needle shaft having an open piercing tip at its distal end and being arranged to lie within the cannula so that the piercing tip protrudes from a distal end of the cannula; and, a stylet adapted to lie within the hollow needle shaft so that a distal tip of the stylet closes the piercing tip of the needle.

Posterior to lateral interbody fusion approach with associated instrumentation and implants
11602368 · 2023-03-14 ·

Methods for accessing a disc space of a patient as a part of an interbody fusion, as well as the tools employed therewith. An exemplary method may include inserting a leading end of a tool into the patient's back at a location on the posterior surface that is laterally offset from a patient's spinous process and disc. The tool's initial entry into the patient may be from a posterior approach. As the tool is advanced along its designated path, it begins to deviate from the posterior approach towards a lateral approach. When the leading end reaches the disc, it may access the disc from a lateral or substantially lateral location. The tool may be used to access the disc location, to remove disc material, to deliver a cutting tool for removing the disc material, and other steps associated with the spinal interbody fusion procedure.
