Filtration device and system

A fluid filtration device having an outer cylindrical surface with a first diameter having a longitudinal axis, and an inner cylindrical surface with an inner diameter substantially centered about the longitudinal axis, and a plurality of longitudinal holes substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis arranged between the outer cylindrical surface and the inner cylindrical surface.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL PROTECTIVE SLEEVE FOR WOUND OF SOFT TISSUE DURING OPERATION

A multi-functional soft tissue wound protective sleeve includes: a waste collection bag including a bottom patch and a surface patch connected to form a cavity; a bottom ring to be inserted into a human body, to push away human tissues surrounding the bottom ring to form a surgery space; a flip ring located above the waste collection bag and having an adjustable distance with the bottom ring, to prevent waste from touching a surgical surface; a medical inner membrane connecting the bottom ring to the flip ring and defining a surgery channel to the surgery space; a positioning ring sealed with a hole edge of the surgery through-hole on the bottom patch; and a medical outer membrane connecting the positioning ring to the flip ring so as to guide waste escaping the surgery channel over the flip ring to flow into the waste collection bag.

Methods for the prevention of surgical site infections

Several methods to reduce surgical site infections include inserting a surgical access device into an incision, retracting tissue, and introducing fluid into the surgical access device such that the fluid exits the surgical access device and irrigates a surgical site. Other methods do not include introducing fluid into a surgical access device but include suctioning a fluid into the surgical access device and removing the fluid from the body.

Surgical access port and assembly

A surgical access port and assembly are disclosed for providing access for a medical instrument into an intracorporeal cavity of a patient undergoing surgery. The access port comprises a cannula and a first passage which extends along the cannula and along which a medical instrument is arranged to pass, the passage comprising a first entrance portion disposed at a proximal region the of the cannula and a first exit portion disposed at a distal region of the cannula. The cannula further comprises a second passage which extends along the cannula and along which an electrode is arranged to pass, the second passage comprising a second entrance portion disposed at a proximal region of the cannula and a second exit portion disposed at a distal region of the cannula. The first exit portion of the first passage and the second exit portion of the second passage diverge along the cannula in a direction which is from the proximal end to the distal end of the cannula, to suitably locate the electrode with respect to a medical instrument.

Provided is a fluid wicking tip. The fluid wicking tip includes a plurality of drip flanges arranged to wick fluid between narrow spaces defined between any two drip flanges. The narrow spaces are dimensioned to facilitate wicking by capillary action. Also provided is a syringe that includes the fluid wicking tip. Also provided is a spike tip including a series of tiered drip flanges for retaining fluid spilled from a bulk fluid container during a syringe filling operation.

STERILIZING SURGICAL ACCESS DEVICES

A surgical access device sterilizes tissue at a surgical site and/or the air at the surgical site. The surgical access device may include a cannula including an elongated shaft having a fluid delivery channel defined therein, a fluid delivery port coupled to the cannula and in fluid communication with the fluid delivery channel, and a porous sleeve disposed around the elongated shaft and in fluid communication with the fluid delivery channel. The fluid delivery channel provides a pathway for fluid flow (e.g., an anti-infective agent) from the fluid delivery port into the porous sleeve. The surgical access device may include a cannula including an elongated shaft having an anti-infective agent disposed therein. The surgical access device may include an instrument housing secured to a cannula, and a light source (e.g., an air sanitizing light source) disposed within a cavity of the instrument housing.

The present invention generally provides methods and devices for removing fluid from a surgical instrument. Surgical access devices and seal systems are generally provided having one or more valves or seal assemblies to create a closed system between the outside environment and the environment in which the surgical access device is being inserted. The devices of systems can also include a fluid remover in the form of a sorbent element, a scraper element, a wicking element, or any combination thereof that is configured to remove fluid from a working channel of the device or system and/or from a surgical instrument inserted therethrough.

Devices and methods for ablation of the skin

Disclosed herein are apparatuses, systems, kits, and methods for treating skin, such as skin tightening or for treating diseases, disorders, and conditions that would benefit from tissue area or volume reduction, skin restoration, skin tightening, skin lifting, and/or skin repositioning and/or for generally improving skin function or appearance (e.g., the removal of unwanted skin features or irregularities such as sebaceous glands, sweat glands, hair follicles, necrosis, and fibrosis). Such apparatuses, systems, kits, and methods comprise an apparatus having a handheld main body and a detachably attachable tip comprising one or more needles.
