Transradial access devices, systems, and methods. An exemplary device of the present disclosure for providing access to a vessel or other luminal organ and to prevent overperforation of the same including a needle having a needle tip and at least one current element positioned thereon or embedded therein at or near the needle tip, a sheath positioned around at least part of the needle, and a protractor in communication with the needle, whereby engagement of the protractor causes the needle tip to protract from the sheath through the aperture, and whereby release of the protractor causes the needle tip to retract through the aperture into the sheath. Activation of the at least one current element can facilitate vasodilation of the vessel or other luminal organ.

The invention relates to a surgical apparatus, in particular a navigation probe for localizing and treating lesions in a brain, comprising a telescopically expandable body member having an anterior end, a posterior end, and comprising a top part and a bottom part, the bottom part having at least one groove extending for a particular length in a longitudinal direction of the bottom part between said anterior end and said posterior end, the top part being placed on said bottom part and having at least one engaging element that extends into said at least one groove so as to mount the top part on the bottom part moveable in said longitudinal direction, wherein the body member has a substantially circular or polygonal cross-section in the assembled state of the bottom part and the upper part.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE SPINAL INSTRUMENT AND METHOD FOR USE OF SAME
A minimally invasive spinal instrument and method for use of the same are disclosed. In some embodiments, a body includes an outer shaft and an inner shaft. A passageway accepts the inner shaft such that the outer shaft at least partially encloses the inner shaft. Each of the outer shaft and the inner shaft have spaced rings with locking grooves interleaved therewith. Each set of locking grooves is sized to accept a clamp such that the spaced rings mitigate longitudinal sliding of the clamp. A locking knob selectively secures the outer shaft and inner shaft thereto. A tip is removably secured to the inner shaft. In a single shaft configuration, in response to the locking knob being selectively disengaged from the outer shaft, the inner shaft and the locking knob are separated from the outer shaft such that the passageway is accessible to accept a metallic wire therethrough.
Tool Assembly And Methods For Robotic-Assisted Surgery
Tool assemblies and methods are disclosed, such as for robotic-assisted surgery with a robot. The tool assembly includes a working tool (44) sized to be coaxially movable within the dilator (60). A locking mechanism (70) releasably couples the working tool (44) and the dilator (60) to one another such that, in a locked configuration, the robot supports the tool assembly. An actuator (86) is configured to receive an input to move the locking mechanism to an unlocked configuration and permit axial movement of the working tool within the dilator. The dilator (60) may include at least one spike (104) disposed within the grooves (128) to penetrate bone. The dilator (60) may include an inner sleeve and outer sleeve coaxially movable relative to one another to move the tool assembly from an initial configuration to a deployed configuration in which the spikes are exposed beyond the sleeve(s). Methods of preparing a pedicle of the spine with the tool assembly with robotic assistance are also disclosed.
Specialized suction irrigator with clot busting and anti-clogging features
A laparoscopic anti-clogging device suitable for abdominal surgeries whose main function is to overcome the deficiencies caused by the clogging of a suction tool used in suction irrigation. More specifically an improved suction unclogging means used in Laparoscopic Suction Irrigator Systems (LSIS) that is used in the removal of bodily fluids, exudate and or bodily materials from the abdomen of a patient, allowing suction of a high-volume fluid in deep cavities and prevents interrupting fluid flow due to tissues clogging the device, and having the ability of being modified intra-abdominally to then focus all of its vacuum force on the distal opening, thereby facilitating blood clot busting and suction of solidified fluids as well as directed irrigation.
MULTI-SHIELD SPINAL ACCESS SYSTEM
An access device for accessing an intervertebral disc having an outer shield comprising an access shield with a larger diameter (˜16-30 mm) that reaches from the skin down to the facet line, with an inner shield having a second smaller diameter (˜5-12 mm) extending past the access shield and reaches down to the disc level. This combines the benefits of the direct visual microsurgical/mini open approaches and the percutaneous, “ultra-MIS” techniques.

The disclosure relates to medical devices comprising coaxial cannulae. A medical device includes an outer cannula and a coaxial inner cannula that is secure to the inner cannula. The circumferential wall of one of the cannulae defines a pattern of openings that extends along a spiral path about the lengthwise axis of the cannula.
SURGICAL ACCESS DEVICE INCLUDING VARIABLE LENGTH CANNULA
A surgical access device includes a cannula having a variable length. The cannula may include a shaft assembly including an outer shaft, an intermediate shaft disposed within and longitudinal slidable relative to the outer shaft, and an inner shaft disposed within and longitudinal slidable relative to the intermediate shaft. The shaft assembly is movable between an unextended position, a fully extended position, and a semi-extended position between the unextended and fully extended positions. The cannula may include a shaft having annular folds formed therein. The annular folds are axially movable relative to each other such that the shaft is longitudinally movable between an unextended position and a plurality of extended positions.
Wound retractor clamp
A wound retractor clamp includes an annular clamp body including a periphery configured to surround a proximal end of a wound retractor, and one or more resilient members connected to the periphery of the clamp body. The one or more resilient members deflect radially outward upon engagement of the clamp body with the wound retractor. The one or more resilient members snap onto the wound retractor and secure the clamp body to the wound protector subsequent to the engagement of the clamp body with the wound protector.
