GUIDE SYSTEM WITH SUCTION
A guide catheter for use in treating sinuses, the catheter including a catheter shaft configured to provide suction about a balloon catheter and a distal portion shaped for navigating body anatomy. In one embodiment, the guide catheter includes a valve for sealing the balloon catheter and a vent for controlling suction.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING HEARING LOSS
Systems and methods can be employed for trans-tympanic membrane access to the middle ear for delivery of a therapeutic agent, for example, to the round window niche adjacent to the cochlea under direct visualization. The systems and methods can also be used to improve accessibility and visualization for various otological surgical procedures, such as, but not limited to, cholesteatoma removal, tympanic membrane repair and ossicular chain repair.
Apparatus and methods for accessing and sealing bodily vessels and cavities
Everting balloon systems and methods for using the same are disclosed herein. The systems can be configured to access and dilate body lumen and cavities. For example, the systems can be used to dilate the cervix and access the uterine cavity. The systems can also be used to occlude the cervix. The systems can also be used to occlude the urethra.
TISSUE DEFLECTING DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS OF USE
A medical device may include a plurality of links reciprocally movable between a loose configuration having a first rigidity and a compact configuration having a second rigidity greater than the first rigidity, wherein application of a force to a distalmost link of the plurality of links when the plurality of links are in the loose configuration causes the plurality of links to change orientation relative to one another, and application of the force to the distalmost link when the plurality of links are in the compact configuration does not cause the plurality of links to change orientation relative to one another.
Robotic devices and systems for performing single incision procedures and natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgical procedures, and methods of configuring robotic devices and systems
Example embodiments relate to surgical systems. The system includes an end-effector assembly having an instrument. The system includes a first arm assembly. A distal end of first arm assembly is securable to the end-effector assembly. The system includes an elbow joint assembly. A distal end of elbow joint assembly is secured to a proximal end of first arm assembly. A proximal end of elbow joint assembly is secured to a distal end of second arm assembly. The second arm assembly includes a first elbow drive assembly. The first elbow drive assembly includes an integrated motor for driving the elbow joint assembly to pivotally move the first arm assembly relative to an axis. The second arm assembly also includes a second elbow drive assembly. The second elbow drive assembly includes an integrated motor for driving the elbow joint assembly to pivotally move the first arm assembly relative to another axis.
Robotic Devices And Systems For Performing Single Incision Procedures And Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgical Procedures, And Methods Of Configuring Robotic Devices And Systems
Example embodiments relate to systems for performing a surgical action. The system includes an instrument assembly transitionable between insertion and non-insertion configurations. Instrument assembly includes an instrument arm having a shoulder section, first and second arm sections, wrist section, and end effector section. A second end of the securing portion is secured to a first end of the shoulder section. Instrument assembly is in the insertion configuration when: the shoulder section, first arm section, second arm section, and end effector section are arranged along a central axis; and a distance between the end effector section and second end of the securing portion is greater than a distance between the shoulder section and second end of the securing portion. Instrument assembly is in the non-insertion configuration when the shoulder section, first arm section, second arm section, and/or end effector section are not arranged along the central axis.
TISSUE EXTRACTION DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS
In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, a tissue extraction device may include a bag having an interior and a plurality of cutting elements extending through the interior of the bag.
SURGICAL SYSTEM USE FLOW AND TOOLS
Some embodiments relate to a method for accessing a treatment zone through the vagina, comprising: selecting an entry angle; positioning a surgical port adjacent the vaginal opening; introducing a trocar through the surgical port; introducing a cannula through the trocar and advancing the cannula such that the cannula enters through a posterior wall of the vagina; externally supporting the port, trocar and cannula assembly using an extension, the extension attached on one end to at least one component of the assembly and on the other end to a fixed, stable reference; the extension holding the assembly at a fixed position in which the trocar and cannula are slanted at the selected entry angle. In some embodiments, one or more surgical mechanical arms are introduced through the cannula for performing surgical acts inside the patient's body.
Port assembly for use with robotic devices and systems to perform single incision procedures and natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgical procedures
Embodiments relate to surgical devices, systems, and methods. The system includes a port assembly and surgical arm assembly. The port assembly includes a main body having a main channel. The main channel includes a left channel portion, right channel portion, left anchor channel portion, and right anchor channel portion. The left channel portion is shaped in such a way that, when a surgical arm of the surgical arm assembly is inserted through the left channel portion, a movement of the surgical arm is restricted to be a movement within the left channel portion and along a first central axis. The right channel portion is shaped in such a way that, when the surgical arm is inserted through the right channel portion, a movement of the surgical arm is restricted to be a movement within the right channel portion and along a second central axis.
MASK WITH ONE OR MORE SELF-SEALING PORTS AND SURGICAL KITS AND SYSTEMS ASSOCIATED THEREWITH
A patient mask including a body shaped to be placed over a face of a patient and configured to prevent the passage of viruses and/or particles therethrough and at least one port configured to receive an endoscope, a surgical instrument, or both and to conform to the shape of the surgical instrument such that the port prevents the passage of viruses and/or particles therethrough.
