10639060 · 2020-05-05 ·

A catheter device with a cutting structure or means on the distal portion is disclosed, along with a medical procedure for using the device. The catheter is utilized in such a way as to create a permanent interatrial aperture in the heart, including creating a permanent interatrial hole and/or removing tissue.

DILATOR

A dilator includes a hollow shaft having an outer diameter that is smaller at a distal end than at a proximal end, and a connector connected to the proximal end of the shaft. A spirally-arranged protruding portion protruding outwardly is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the shaft. The spirally-arranged protruding portion has gaps between adjacent portions of the spirally-arranged protruding portion along a longitudinal axis of the shaft. The shaft has a first position and a second position along the longitudinal axis, the second position being located distal to the first position. The outer diameter of the shaft is smaller at the second position than at the first position. An inclination angle of the spirally-arranged protruding portion relative to the longitudinal axis is different at the second position than at the first position.

DILATOR

Provided is a dilator capable of increasing the diameter of a hole formed on the wall of a digestive tract and the like while ensuring distal-end flexibility and maintaining pushability and torquability even when a shaft is longer and curved. A dilator includes a hollow shaft having an outer diameter that is smaller at a distal end than at a proximal end, and a grip portion connected to the proximal end of the shaft. A spirally-arranged protruding portion protruding outwardly is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the shaft. The spirally-arranged protruding portion has gaps between adjacent portions along a longitudinal axis of the shaft.

DILATOR

A dilator includes a shaft with a tapered portion having an outer diameter that is smaller at a distal end than at a proximal end; a proximal end portion provided at a proximal end side of the tapered portion; and optionally a distal end portion provided at a distal end side of the tapered portion. Pitches of adjacent portions of the spirally-arranged protruding portion provided on the tapered portion are different (either smaller or larger) than those of adjacent portions of the spirally-arranged protruding portion provided on distal end side of the proximal end portion and/or on the distal end portion.

DILATOR

A dilator includes a hollow shaft having a tapered portion and a body portion having a distal end located at a proximal end of the tapered portion. The tapered portion has an outer diameter that is smaller at a distal end than at a proximal end, and the body portion extends toward a proximal end side in an axis direction of the shaft. A spirally-arranged protruding portion is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the tapered portion, and the spirally-arranged protruding portion has gaps between adjacent portions of the spirally-arranged protruding portion along an axis direction of the shaft. A proximal end of the spirally-arranged protruding portion is located at the proximal end of the tapered portion.

Apparatus to form opening in ethmoid bulla and irrigate ethmoid sinus cavity

An instrument for treating a sinus cavity includes a cutter member, a rotatable member, and a fluid passage. The cutter member has a lumen extending therealong, and the rotatable member is received within the lumen. The rotatable member has a helical blade projecting from a distal end portion. The cutter member is configured to translate relative to the rotatable member. Thereby, the cutter member and the rotatable blade are configured to form an opening into the sinus cavity. The fluid passage extends through the cutter member from an inlet to an outlet. The outlet is positioned proximal to the helical blade such that the outlet is configured to fluidly communicate with the sinus cavity. The inlet is configured to receive at least one of a fluid and a vacuum in order to communicate the respective fluid or vacuum to the outlet for irrigating or suctioning the sinus cavity.

Dilator

A dilator that includes a hollow shaft including a tapered section having a diameter increasing from a distal end toward a proximal end, and a spirally-arranged protruding portion provided on an outer peripheral surface of the hollow shaft and including spirally-arranged protruding sections and gaps between adjacent spirally-arranged protruding sections along an axial direction of the hollow shaft. The spirally-arranged protruding portion includes an apex section having the greatest height from the outer peripheral surface in a transverse cross-section thereof, and a side surface section facing outward and extending from the apex section toward the outer peripheral surface. The side surface section includes an inclined surface inclined substantially linearly toward at least one of the distal and proximal end direction between the outer peripheral surface and the apex section in the transverse cross-section of the spirally-arranged protruding portion.

Anchoring system and method for cranial access

An anchoring system for cannulas or tools to be inserted into a surgical workspace in the body, particularly the brain, of a patient. The system comprises a mounting ring which may be fixed to the skull to both secure the system to the skull and protect the skull opening from passage of cannulas and tools, a resilient clip with grasping jaws adapted to firmly grasp a cannula or tool, and a flexible membrane secured to the outer rim of the mounting ring and the clip.

Positioning device for medical devices

The present disclosure is directed to a positioning device for insertion into a patient. The device includes an outer sheath having an external thread on an outer surface. The device also includes a removable inner cannula for insertion into the outer sheath. The cannula has a penetrating end at its insertion end. It may also include a locking device for locking the inner cannula to the outer sheath. The device may be a pneumothorax drainage device.
