TROCAR
A trocar is used by inserting a distal end thereof into a body cavity of a patient. The trocar includes: an inner tube that has a center pipeline; an outer tube that is disposed so as to cover an outer periphery of the inner tube and has a front end that is positioned rearward of a front end of the inner tube; an annular channel that is formed between the inner tube and the outer tube and has an ejection port at the front end position of the outer tube; and a flow control member that is provided on the inner tube at a position forward of the front end of the outer tube and facing the ejection port, the flow control member having an inclined surface located at the rear end that slants radially outward.

A cannula comprising a monolithic, flexible body having a central passageway bounded by a first flange and a second flange, the central passageway having an irregular shape and a diaphragm positioned therein, the first diaphragm having the same irregular shape and including at least one first diaphragm slit, and a second diaphragm positioned adjacent to or at one of the first or second flanges and having at least one second diaphragm slit.
Surgical instruments with reflective mirror-like surfaces
Systems, devices, and methods for providing a surgeon with improved viewing angles during arthroscopic surgical procedures are provided. In some embodiments, a cannula is provided that includes an elongate body that can extend along a longitudinal axis, the body having a proximal end, a distal end, a lumen extending through the body between openings at the proximal and distal ends. The cannula can have a first flange member that can extend at least partially around at least one of the openings, and the first flange member can have a distal-facing surface, where at least a portion of the distal-facing surface can be reflective.
SURGICAL ACCESS DEVICE WITH FIXATION MECHANISM
A surgical access device includes a cannula body and a fixation mechanism. The fixation mechanism includes a collar, a driver, a distal ring, a proximal ring, and a plurality of petals. The driver extends distally from the collar, and the distal ring is operatively engaged with a distal portion of the driver. The proximal ring at least partially surrounds an elongated portion of the cannula body and is disposed proximally of the distal ring. The plurality of petals extends proximally from the distal ring and is longitudinally translatable relative to the proximal ring. Longitudinal translation of the collar causes the plurality of petals to move between a first position defining a first gap between a proximal end of the plurality of petals and the elongated portion, and a second position defining a second, greater gap between the proximal end of the plurality of petals and the elongated portion.
Surgical Implement for Piercing Tissue
A surgical tool for piercing tissue of a body comprises a hollow external component (1) having a peripheral wall (11), an internal component (2) movable disposed inside the external component (1) and having a piercing head (21); when the piercing head (21) and the internal component (2) retract relative to the external component (1), the movable component (3) deforms partially, expands outwardly in a radial direction, and fills the bladder (6). The movable component can be deformed to expand outward in the radial direction, so as to make the bladder to expand, so that the surgical tool can be positioned on the body of the patient.
Implantable prosthetic device
A prosthesis and a method of plugging or covering a trocar tract with the prosthesis is disclosed. The prosthesis includes a tubular body having a proximal end and a distal end, a respective opening at each end, and a channel extending between the proximal end of the tubular body and the distal end of the tubular body. The prosthesis is removably mounted along a trocar. The trocar is removable from the prosthesis such that the prosthesis is left at the trocar tract when the trocar is removed from the tract. The prosthesis includes a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration. In the deployed configuration, the opening at the distal end of the tubular body is smaller than the opening at the proximal end of the tubular body.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING TENSION PNEUMOTHORAX USING A RAPID DEPLOYMENT CHEST PORT
The present disclosure provides apparatus and method for treating tension pneumothorax by using a rapid deployment chest port. The rapid deployment chest port can penetrate a patient's body to access a distressed pleural space. The rapid deployment chest port may create an airtight seal between the inside and outside of the patient's body and, when expanded, allow air or fluid to flow in one direction from inside the body to outside the body.
BALANCING FEATURE FOR REUSABLE TROCAR
A surgical access device assembly includes a cannula hub and a cannula tube. The cannula tube extends distally from the cannula hub along a longitudinal axis. The cannula tube defines a working channel. The cannula tube includes a tissue engagement feature and a balancing feature. The balancing feature is configured to promote lateral stability of the cannula tube and the cannula hub relative to the body cavity wall of the patient. The balancing feature includes a proximal portion of the cannula tube having a first wall thickness. The balancing feature also includes a distal portion of the cannula tube having a second wall thickness that is greater than the first wall thickness. At least a portion of the proximal portion is proximal relative to the tissue engagement feature. At least a portion of the distal portion is distal relative to the tissue engagement feature.
MULTI-PIECE ACCESS PORT IMAGING SYSTEMS
An access port system can include a port body configured to be inserted into an incision. The port body can define an imaging assembly opening from a proximal side to a distal side thereof. The system can include an imaging assembly configured to pass through the imaging assembly opening to allow imaging of an interior portion of a patient body.
TISSUE PIERCING ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS OF USE
Tissue piercing devices and methods for using the same are described. The tissue piercing devices may be adapted to pierce through the septal wall to create a pathway between the right and left atria. The tissue piercing devices may include one or more visualization elements to visualize a target puncture site on the septal wall, such as within the fossa ovalis. The devices that may include an inner volume adapted to hold a piercing member and the one or more visualization elements therein. One or more components of the tissue piercing apparatus may be steerable to steer the piercing member toward the target puncture site. In some examples, the tissue piercing devices may include an inflatable member that is expandable upon inflation to form the inner volume.
