Method and Devices for Implantation of Biologic Constructs
Methods for delivering a sheet-like implant to a target site including a means of deploying and orienting the sheet-like implant within the body.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS WITH REFLECTIVE MIRROR-LIKE SURFACES
Systems, devices, and methods for providing a surgeon with improved viewing angles during arthroscopic surgical procedures are provided. In some embodiments, a cannula is provided that includes an elongate body that can extend along a longitudinal axis, the body having a proximal end, a distal end, a lumen extending through the body between openings at the proximal and distal ends. The cannula can have a first flange member that can extend at least partially around at least one of the openings, and the first flange member can have a distal-facing surface, where at least a portion of the distal-facing surface can be reflective.
Surgical devices for access to surgical sites
Access devices including access ports and retractors, which enhance the working area and access to a surgical site. The access port includes a tubular body with at least one sidewall defining an interior path along the length of the tubular body. The sidewall includes a rigid portion and a flexible portion. The flexible portion is able to stretch or deform, for example, to accommodate an angled trajectory of a surgical implement. A surgical access device for retracting tissue includes a plurality of retractor blades. The outer surface of the retractor blades form a substantially circular cross-sectional configuration with a plurality of spiral ridges projecting therefrom such that advancement of the retractor into the surgical site may be improved.
HEATED SURGICAL CANNULA FOR PROVIDING GASES TO A PATIENT
A surgical cannula for providing insufflation gases to a surgical cavity of a patient (for example, the pneumoperitoneum) and allowing insertion of medical instruments into the surgical cavity through the cannula can include a heater within or coupled to the cannula. The heater can heat the gases and/or the instruments to raise the temperature of the gases and/or instruments above a dew point of the gases to prevent fogging. The heater can also help to defog a lens of a medical instrument by heating to clear the lens and improve optical clarity.
ANCHORED GUIDE TUBES FOR INSERTION AND STABILIZATION OF DEVICES IN BODY WALL, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A medical device includes a tube comprising a proximal end, a distal end, a wall extending from the proximal end to the distal end of the tube and surrounding a hollow interior of the tube, and one or more engagement features on the lateral wall. An inflatable member is located at a distal end portion of the tube. The medical device also includes a repositionable anchor located on the tube proximal to the inflatable anchor and configured to engage the one or more features on the lateral wall. In a first configuration of the medical device, the repositionable anchor is translatable along the tube, and in a second configuration of the medical device the repositionable anchor is fixed in translation relative to the tube.
Anchoring System and Method for Cranial Access
An anchoring system for cannulas or tools to be inserted into a surgical workspace in the body, particularly the brain, of a patient. The system comprises a grommet which may be fixed to the skull to both secure the system to the skull and protect the skull opening from passage of cannulas and tools, a resilient clip with grasping jaws adapted to firmly grasp a cannula or tool, and a flexible membrane secured to the outer rim of the grommet and the clip.
PRESSURE RELEASE CANNULA
A pressure relief device for controlling the outflow of fluid from a surgical site. The pressure relief device includes a cannula body having a proximal end and a distal end with a thread extending along the entire cannula body from the distal end. The device also has a proximal end cap connected to the proximal end of the cannula body, a spacer connected between the cannula body and the proximal end cap, and a proximal seal enclosed between the proximal end cap and the spacer. One or more distal seals can be enclosed between the spacer and the proximal end of the cannula body. The device additionally includes a channel between the spacer and an inner wall of the proximal end cap. Fluid flows out of the device through the channel.
Length adjustable cannula
A length adjustable cannula includes: a pipe-like main body having a through hole formed therein and an outer circumferential surface on which a screw thread is formed; a base grip provided at an end of the main body; an inner support plate provided at another end of the main body; and an outer support plate thread-coupled with the outer circumferential surface of the main body, the outer support plate being movable along the screw thread in a lengthwise direction of the main body. A position of the outer support plate is adjusted based on a distance from an outside skin to a medical treatment region of a human body, such that the outer support plate is brought into contact with the outside skin and the inner support plate is brought into contact with and supported by an inside skin of the human body.
Intraosseous needle assembly and method of use thereof
An intraosseous needle includes a cylindrical shaft. The cylindrical shaft includes a first portion comprising a plurality of threads protruding from the cylindrical shaft. The cylindrical shaft includes a second portion comprising a plurality of fenestrations, disposed between the first portion and a distal end of the cylindrical shaft, wherein the cylindrical shaft is continuous and smooth within the second portion, and where the continuous, smooth second portion is longer than the first portion. The intraosseous needle also includes a needle head extending from a proximal end of the cylindrical shaft.
WOUND RETRACTOR AND DIFFUSER
A diffuser for use with a wound retractor and configured to deliver gases includes an interface tube for connecting to a gases supply and a diffuser interface positioned at a proximal end of the interface tube, the diffuser interface configured for delivering gases received from the gases supply through the interface tube, and the diffuser interface comprising a diffusion mechanism configured to deliver gases in a diffusion direction. A wound retractor with an integrated diffuser is also disclosed. The wound retractor includes an upper ring, a lower ring, a sleeve extending between and connecting the upper ring to the lower ring, and an integrated diffuser interface having a gases inlet and a diffusion mechanism.
