TRACTION TENSIONING APPARATUS AND SYSTEM
20220104860 · 2022-04-07 ·

A traction tensioning apparatus includes a housing that has a first end and a second end. An anchor point is mounted to the housing and is attachable to a first tether is in-line with a traction system and extending away from the housing in a first direction. An urging assembly is engaged with the anchor point. The urging assembly is tension actuated to urge the anchor point toward the second end and releasably actuated to allow the anchor point to move toward the first end. An attachment point is mounted to the housing and is attachable to a second tether in-line with the traction system and extending away from the housing in a second direction. The attachment point is movable in the first and second directions relative to the housing. A biasing member is engaged with the attachment point and biases the attachment point in the first direction.

An external bone fixation system may include a first semi-circular external fixation member, a second semi-circular external fixation member, four ball collet assemblies attached to the second external fixation member, and four shafts. Each shaft may include a first end attached to the first external fixation member and a second end with a stop member, and each of the four shafts extends slidably through an opening in a ball of one of the four ball collet assemblies. The stop member of each second end prevents each second end from passing through the opening in its respective ball. Each shaft also includes a hinge located closer to the first end than to the second end.

Locking Clamp and External Fixation Horns

Provided are external fixation horns and clamp for use with struts in conjunction with external bone fixation (EBF) devices. A fixation horn is a cylindrical component intended to connect and provide further fixation locations for a half-pin clamp. A horn can be offered at various angles and lengths to best fit the application and surgeon preference. Prior to securement, the horn is positioned in the desired position and orientation relative to the half-pin clamp. Once in position, a floating collar of the horn is tightened onto the clamp. The collar compresses a serrated face of the horn with a mating serrated face of the clamp. The serrated faces of the horn and half-pin clamp are designed to lock together and resist rotational slippage during use.

External fixation for the correction of bone deformity and trauma

Provided is an apparatus and component parts of a system for the external fixation of bones. The component parts include fixation plates such as a C-shaped Plate, an N-shaped Plate, a J-shaped Plate, a K-shaped Plate, an I-shaped Plate, a Foot Plate, a Z-shaped Plate and a T-shaped Plate. Two or more fixation plates are configured along an axis, the two or more fixation plates; a plurality of telescoping adjustable struts that connect a first fixation plate along the axis with a second fixation plate of the plurality of fixation plates along the axis, wherein the first and second fixation plates are adjacent plates along the axis; and a plurality of posts, each post connecting two adjacent fixation plates of the plurality of fixation plates along the axis.

Bone positioning and cutting system and method

A method of performing a bunion surgery to correct an alignment between a first metatarsal and a first cuneiform may involve aligning a bone cutting guide with a joint between the first metatarsal and the first cuneiform. The bone cutting guide can have a joint plate offset from a guide feature, with the joint plate extending downwardly relative to the guide feature. The process of aligning the bone cutting guide with the joint may involve inserting the joint plate into the joint. The method may involve using the guide feature of the bone cutting guide to guide a cutting tool to cut a leading edge of the first metatarsal and adjusting an alignment of the first metatarsal relative to the first cuneiform using a bone positioning device. The method may also involve fixing a position of the first metatarsal relative to the first cuneiform with a bone connector.

Coupling device for in an orthopaedic system

Coupling device for connecting an annular fixation member to a bone pin, wherein the coupling device comprises pin connecting means arranged for connecting the bone pin to the coupling device and ring connecting means arranged for removably connecting the annular fixation member to the coupling device, wherein the coupling device further comprises fixator connecting means arranged for removably connecting a fixator to the coupling device, wherein the ring connecting means and the fixator connecting means are arranged for simultaneously connecting the annular fixation member and the fixator while the pin connecting means are connected to the bone pin.

External fixator system

Disclosed herein are external fixation frames for correcting bone deformities. The external fixation frames include a top fixation ring and a bottom fixation ring coupled to one another by at least two struts. A half ring is coupled to bottom fixation ring. The bottom fixation ring is u-shaped. One or more rocker members may be coupled to the bottom fixation ring. The half ring may be hingedly coupled to the bottom fixation ring such that it can rotate with respect to the bottom fixation ring from a first position to a second position.
