Disclosed are a method and apparatus for safety control of radio frequency operation, and a radio frequency host. The method includes: when connecting ends of a plurality of radio frequency circuits connect an operated object to a radio frequency host, acquiring detection values of the plurality of radio frequency circuits; determining whether change amounts of the detection values reach a preset value range; when a number of target radio frequency circuits reaching the preset value range is not less than a preset number, selecting the preset number of target radio frequency circuits from the target radio frequency circuits according to a preset selection rule as radio frequency input circuits, and inputting radio frequency energy into the radio frequency input circuits; when the number of target radio frequency circuits reaching the preset value range is less than the preset number, not inputting radio frequency energy into any radio frequency circuit.

ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT

A temperature sensing system for an electrosurgical instrument able to detect temperatures internal and/or external to the electrosurgical instrument. Temperatures detected by a temperature sensor are processed by a monitoring module which prompts action to reduce temperatures where appropriate. The temperature sensing system is particularly useful for electrosurgical instruments which combine rotary shaver arrangements and RF electrode arrangements, where suction is used to remove RF heated saline from the surgical site. Without monitoring the temperature of the electrosurgical instrument and/or the surgical site, there is a risk of burning the patient if the RF heated saline becomes too hot as the electrosurgical instrument may not be adequately insulated.

Radio frequency ablation systems

The present invention relates to systems for use for radio frequency ablation. The systems can include one or more of an ablation tool, power source for use with the ablation tool and a backstop for use in conjunction with the ablation tool during surgical procedures. Preferred ablation tools comprise a series of three or more blade-shaped electrodes disposed in a linear, curved, curvilinear or circular array. The backstops are useful for reducing direct physical and thermal heat transfer injuries to the patient or surgeon during procedures using radiofrequency (RF) ablation devices.

HEMOSTASIS METHODS AND APPARATUSES

A probe is configured with a flushing port and an evacuation port to establish a flow path to remove blood from a resected tissue. The probe comprises a balloon configured to expand and contact the resected tissue to compress filaments and improve access to the underlying blood vessels for coagulation with an energy source. An endoscope can be used to view the tissue, and the balloon may comprise a transparent material or a viewing port to allow imaging of the bleeding tissue through the balloon. The probe may have a light source to illuminate the tissue with a beam oriented at an oblique angle to the tissue surface, which can decrease interference from blood and may allow more localized coagulation of the blood vessel.

Systems and methods for lesion assessment

Ablation visualization and monitoring systems and methods are provided. In some embodiments, such methods comprise applying ablation energy to a tissue to form a lesion in the tissue, illuminating the tissue with a light to excite NADH in the tissue, wherein the tissue is illuminated in a radial direction, an axial direction, or both, monitoring a level of NADH fluorescence in the illuminated tissue to determine when the level of NADH fluorescence decreases from a base level in the beginning of the ablating to a predetermined lower level, and stopping ablation of the tissue when the level of NADH fluorescence reaches the predetermined lower level.

An energy treatment system and a output control method thereof according to embodiments of the present invention perform treatment by energy supply in which ultrasonic energy and high frequency energy are combined, stop or suppress discharge by reducing the output of high frequency energy within a set period when a state in which discharge is likely to occur during treatment is detected, and change the output of ultrasonic energy. In addition, in order for a user to continue treatment without feeling uncomfortable and to ensure incision performance, each output is controlled so that the set period is as short as possible or is supplemented, and also, the set period expires, and control is performed so as to reduce the possibility of discharge even at the time of returning.

The first catheter includes one or more first catheter magnetic elements and a fistula-forming element. The second catheter includes one or more second catheter magnetic elements. The one or more magnetic field sensors are configured to output a magnetic field signal. The control unit is configured to determine a distance of separation of the first catheter from the second catheter based the magnetic field signal from the one or more magnetic field sensors and output a ready signal with the user output device in response to determining that the distance of separation of the first catheter from the second catheter is a predetermined distance or less.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN ULTRASONIC SURGICAL SYSTEM

A computer implemented method for controlling an ultrasonic surgical system includes activating an ultrasonic surgical system including an ultrasonic generator, an ultrasonic transducer, and an ultrasonic blade. The method further includes collecting data from the ultrasonic surgical system, communicating the data to a machine learning algorithm, determining the vessel size based on the data, using the machine learning algorithm, communicating the determined vessel size to a computing device associated with the ultrasonic generator, and controlling the activated ultrasonic surgical system in accordance with the vessel size. The data may include an electrical parameter associated with the activated ultrasonic surgical system. When the ultrasonic surgical system is activated, the ultrasonic generator produces a drive signal to drive the ultrasonic transducer which, in turn, produces ultrasonic energy that is transmitted to the ultrasonic blade for treating a vessel in contact with the ultrasonic blade.
