Microwave ablation probe with radiofrequency impedance sensing
A microwave ablation system and method include an elongate microwave ablation probe. The probe has a radiating portion for performing microwave ablation. The probe includes a first electrode and a second electrode located along the probe body. A radiofrequency energy source is connected to the first and second electrodes. An impedance of tissue is measured using the first and second electrodes. The impedance is used to detect a change in tissue due to microwave ablation of the tissue. Therapy parameters for the microwave ablation procedure can be adjusted in response to the measured impedance. In some examples, one of the electrodes is proximal and one electrode is distal to the radiating portion.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AESTHETIC TREATMENT
Provided herein is a multifunctional aesthetic system including a housing, an electromagnetic array situated in the housing and having one or more electromagnetic radiation (EMR) sources, a controller in electronic communication with the array to operate the one or more of the EMR sources to direct the EMR beam to a treatment area, and one or more sensors in electronic communication with the controller for providing feedback to the controller based on defined parameters to allow the controller to adjust at least one operating condition of the multifunctional system in response to the feedback.
ELECTROSURGICAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method of sealing tissue includes attempting to grasp tissue between first and second jaw members of an end effector assembly of an electrosurgical instrument, attempting to conduct electrosurgical energy between the first and second jaw members, and determining, based on impedance feedback from the electrosurgical energy, whether an error exists. In a case where no error is detected, the method includes implementing a tissue treating algorithm to treat tissue grasped between the first and second jaw members. The tissue treating algorithm includes conducting electrosurgical energy between the first and second jaw members and through tissue grasped therebetween. In a case where an error is detected, the method includes determining, based on additional feedback data, a cause of the error, and outputting an alarm indicating the error and the cause of the error.
Fractional handpiece with a passively Q-switched laser assembly
A fractional handpiece and systems thereof for skin treatment include a passively Q-switched laser assembly operatively connected to a pump laser source to receive a pump laser beam having a first wavelength and a beam splitting assembly operable to split a solid beam emitted by the passively Q-switched laser assembly and form an array of micro-beams across a segment of skin. The passively Q-switched laser assembly generates a high power sub-nanosecond pulsed laser beam having a second wavelength.
DEVICE AND METHODS OF LASER TREATMENT FOR RHINOLOGY
There is provided a process for treatment of rhinitis by diode laser ablation of the branches of the posterior nasal nerve. The diode laser delivery device with elongated fiber optic with its fiber tip is inserted through a patient's nostril and has the length, flexibility and a curvature to reach both above and under the patient's middle turbinate for treatment of both branches of the posterior nasal nerves. Skin and tissue temperature is raised to approximately 60-70° C. with the process. A control knob on the laser delivery device moves from a first to a second position to move a camera attached to the laser delivery device. The fiber optic includes a distal fiber tip extending from a malleable sheath connected to the body for delivering light energy to a treatment area.
Methods and systems related to an electrosurgical controller
An electrosurgical controller and related methods. At least some of the illustrative embodiments are methods including: placing a distal end of an electrosurgical wand in operational relationship with biological tissue; delivering energy to an active electrode of the electrosurgical wand. During delivering energy, the method may comprise: measuring a value indicative of flow of the energy to the active electrode; summing, over a first predetermined window of time, to create a first value indicative of energy provided to the active electrode; summing, over a second predetermined window of time, to create a second value indicative of energy provided to the active electrode. The method may further comprise: ceasing delivering energy responsive to the first value meeting or exceeding a predetermined value; and ceasing delivering energy responsive to the second value meeting or exceeding a threshold value.
PORTABLE HAIR REMOVAL DEVICE
A portable hair removal device (10), comprising a head portion (30), and a housing (20) connected to one end of the head portion (30). An emitter capable of emitting light is provided in the housing (20), and the light emitted by the emitter passes through the head portion (30) and then acts on the skin for hair removal. The head portion (30) is provided with at least a phototherapy lamp (32), and light emitted by the phototherapy lamp (32) acts on the skin through the head (30) and takes care of the skin. The portable hair removal device (10) has rich functions and a good skin care effect.
Switched lasers for dermal treatment
An applicator comprising multiple laser assemblies connected to a power supply and a controller that switches each pulse to a different one of the laser assemblies. Each laser assembly deposits a laser spot on the skin and the result is to produce a large ‘aggregate’ spot without requiring extra power or extra lasers. In one embodiment, each pulse serves as a trigger to switch the next pulse to the next laser assembly.
