An image forming apparatus includes an encryption processing unit, a storage unit, a decryption processing unit, a decryption processing unit, and an image output unit. The encryption processing unit encrypts non-compressed image data that is not compressed and indicates a raw image as a target of the forming to generate encrypted image data. The storage unit stores the generated encrypted image data. The decryption processing unit decrypts the stored encrypted image data to restore the non-compressed image data. The image output unit forms the print image on the print medium using the non-compressed image data to output a printed matter. Systems and methods of using the system for obtaining an image of a user and survey data from the user are disclosed. The system comprises a processor, a digital imaging device in communication with the processor, at least one input device in communication with the processor, at least one output device in communication with the processor, and software executing on the processor. The software prompts the user to enter an answer to at least one survey question through the input device, directs the digital imaging device to obtain at least one image of the user upon receiving the answer and outputs the at least one image to the output device.

A method for proactively creating a photobook includes identifying a group of images by a computer system and automatically creating a design for a photobook by the computer system without receiving a user's request for designing a photobook if the number of images in the group is determined to be within a predetermined range. Pages of the photobook incorporate a plurality of images in the group. The method further includes presenting the design of the photobook to a user for preview and receiving an order from the user for a physical manifestation of the photobook based on the design.

Methods and systems for the imposition of a print job. A grid composed of a 2D matrix of a group of logical cells can be graphically displayed in a graphical user interface. Each logical cell can be defined by a contiguous rectangular region made up cells of equal sized cells and wherein the grid directs the imposition of a print job. Graphical elements are also displayed in the graphical user interface, which when selected by a user allows for the merging of the logical cells across rows and columns of the grid for the imposition of the print job.
