In one embodiment of the present disclosure, an apparatus that generates album data including a plurality of pages has a page generation unit configured to generate common pages used in common in a plurality of pieces of album data and individual pages corresponding to a main object and a determination unit configured to determine, after sorting the common pages relating to generation-target album data based on an image capturing time representing the common pages, positions of the individual pages relating to the generation-target album data.

An information processing apparatus includes a selection unit, a switching unit, a layout unit, and an output unit and is to perform an object snapping function of laying out a new object in a spread page area by automatically aligning a position of the new object with respect to a layout position of an object already laid out in the spread page area. The selection unit selects an object as a selected object. The switching unit switches enabling and disabling of the object snapping function based on a user operation. The layout unit lays out the selected object in the spread page area by using the object snapping function in a case where the object snapping function is enabled. The output unit outputs album data including the spread page area in which the selected object is laid out.

An image forming apparatus includes a display having a function of editing input image data and a function of displaying page images immediately after reading in order. When a first type of instruction to change shape of an image formed on a recording medium is given, the edition is not reflected on a document display mode screen image, and when a second type of instruction to edit page by page the recording medium having images formed thereon is given, the edition is reflected on the document display mode screen image. By switching between a finish preview screen image and the document display mode screen image, the image after edition and the image immediately after reading can be compared easily.

A control method includes outputting an estimated feature value based on first layout data generated by a user, generating an album creation parameter based on the output estimated feature value, generating layout data based on the generated album creation parameter and an image used for second layout data generated by a user, and updating the album creation parameter based on a feature value based on the generated layout data and a feature value based on the second layout data. The first data and the second are uploaded to a server. When a number of pieces of layout data uploaded to the server is fewer than a predetermined number, data in units of album double-page spreads is used as the first layout data. When the number of layout data uploaded to the server is greater than the predetermined number, data in units of albums is used as the first layout data.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to, in a case where there are plural patterns of document areas extracted from an input image obtained by imaging documents, execute display control for displaying the plural patterns as options on a screen, receive selection of a correct pattern among the plural patterns according to the display of the screen through the display control, and extract an image of each document area included in the pattern selected by a user from the input image.

An image forming apparatus includes an image reading unit. When printing a postcard is selected, a preview screen including a preview image about an image on a communication side of the postcard read by the image reading unit is displayed on a display. At this occasion, an instruction image indicating an orientation of an address side of the postcard is also displayed. The systems and methods presented here completely separate a non-user pattern from the user jobs being printed. An information processing method includes steps of obtaining a plurality of images and date and time information on the plurality of images, setting, for each of the plurality of images, reliability information indicating reliability of the date and time information as photographing date and time, scoring each of the plurality of images by analyzing, laying out at least a part of the plurality of images on a template based on the date and time information and a score obtained by the scoring, and notifying a message to a user based on the set reliability information. When an image that does not have photographing date and time information is obtained, low reliability information is set to the image. When the image is laid out on the template, the message is notified to a user based on the low reliability information.
