A system includes an image analyzer to analyze an image to be printed by a printer and to obtain an image parameter of the image, and a database to store a plurality of print-mode configurations for the printer. Each print-mode configuration has associated therewith a measure that represents a suitability of the print-mode configuration to print an image having a certain image parameter on a certain print medium. The database receives a query, and the query indicates the image parameter and a print medium. The database selects, responsive to the query and to the measure, a print-mode configuration for the printer, and outputs the selected print-mode configuration. The system modifies the measure associated with the selected print-mode configuration in response to a feedback about the printed image.

Systems and methods for analyzing printed images are provided. One system includes a processing circuit configured to: determine a set of one or more locations on the printed image on the substrate to measure color values; determine a set of input tone values for the at least one ink; receive a set of measured color values corresponding to the set of locations on the printed image from a sensor; and determine a tone value increase error based on the set of measured color values and the set of input tone values. The at least one processing circuit is configured to determine the tone value increase error without requiring measured color values from an area having solid ink.

A method includes obtaining first color information for each of a plurality of first samples of a first target color with a color measurement device connected to a computing device including a display. A digital color image of at least one first target color is displayed on the display. An offset value for each first target color is determined such that the digital color image of each first target color matches the corresponding first target color on each of the first samples. A second sample including a second target color is scanned to obtain second color information. A processor of the computing device determines, using the offset values of the first target colors, an interpolated offset for the display such that the digital image of the second target color matches the second target color.

An information processing apparatus includes a display and circuitry. The circuitry controls the display to display a first display field for displaying a first image of document data, a second display field for displaying a second image based on a first data generated by an image reading device reading a print sample, a third display field for displaying a third image based on a second data generated by the image reading device reading a printed matter printed out by an image forming apparatus based on the document data, and a fourth display field for displaying a fourth image after execution of color matching for color of the third image to be matched with color of the second image based on the document data.

An image processing apparatus includes circuitry. The circuitry receives an operation of selecting data indicating a target color in color stability control. The circuitry determines the selected data indicating the target color as correction target data indicating a target color used for the color stability control. The circuitry generates correction gamma data used for gradation correction of image data for printing according to the determined correction target data.

An image forming apparatus is provided with a storage portion that stores a plurality of pieces of schedule information, an image reading portion that generates image data of an original document including a plurality of description fields, a printing portion, and a control portion that recognizes a plurality of description field regions corresponding to the plurality of description fields, respectively, recognizes in-field information that is included in each of the plurality of description field regions in association with a date borne by a corresponding one of the plurality of description fields, extracts one of the plurality of pieces of schedule information and a piece of the in-field information which correspond to a common date as first subject information and second subject information, respectively, and performs control so that an update information image is printed.

According to one embodiment, an image processing apparatus includes an image reading device, a storage device, and a control unit. The image reading device reads an image on a sheet. The storage device stores information. The control unit that determines a detection area of an encoded image based on a teacher image which is an image read from a predetermined teacher sheet by the image reading device, records information indicating the detection area in the storage device, detects an encoded image in the detection area among the images read from a sheet to be read after the teacher sheet, and decodes the detected encoded image.

An image forming apparatus including an image forming unit is provided. The apparatus determines a color of a tone patch for tone correction, to be composited with an image, in accordance with a color component used in the image; generates a patch-included image by compositing the tone patch of the color determined with the image; generates a corrected image by performing tone correction on the patch-included image on the basis of tone correction information for each color component; performs color measurement of the tone patch formed on the medium on which the corrected image has been formed, and updates the tone correction information on the basis of a value measured.

There is provided with an information processing apparatus. A first obtaining unit obtains data of a reference image indicating a target of printing output to be performed by a printing apparatus. A second obtaining unit obtains data of an image printed by the printing apparatus. A correcting unit corrects a local image density difference or the reference image based on a global image density difference between the reference image and the printed image. An evaluating unit evaluates quality of the printed image based on the local image density difference between the corrected reference image and the printed image.

The invention provides a method and an apparatus for adopting analogue decor templates in decor printing, including the similarity comparison between at least one of 1 to n hyperspectral digital reference images of the analogue decor template and at least one of 1 to n hyperspectral digital actual images of a substrate with decor. A decor-specific profile target is adjusted such that the digital template of the analogue decor template can be output on a substrate by way of an output medium in such a way that the colour deviation between at least one of 1 to n reference images of the analogue decor template and at least one of 1 to n actual images of the substrate with decor is below a specified target value.
