An information processing apparatus, connectable with an image output apparatus, includes circuitry to receive image data of an image from a memory, acquire information of an image placement region of the image output apparatus, the image placement region being variable depending on a type of the image output apparatus, and the image is to be output on the image placement region of the image output apparatus, generate an output image by placing the image within the image placement region based on the image data of the image to be output, and the image placement region of the image output apparatus, and transmit the generated output image to the image output apparatus.

An image processing apparatus includes a character recognition unit configured to perform character recognition processing for recognizing one or more characters included in image data and acquiring character information, a display unit configured to display one or more characters indicated by the character information acquired by the character recognition unit, and a transmission unit configured to transmit the image data to a folder the name of which is a character selected by a user from among the one or more characters displayed by the display unit.

A controller of an information processing device displays, on a display, a display screen having a first display region that displays a list of files, and a second display region that displays an operation button; selects one or more files from among the displayed list of files; and in response to selection of the operation button after a file is selected, renames the file in accordance with additional information associated with the operation button.

An image processing apparatus includes a processor that acquires document image data that is generated by reading an original document and recognizes character strings that are included in the document image data through character recognition, and the processor searches for a specific character string registered in advance from the character strings and causes a display unit to display a file name that includes the specific character string detected through the searching as a file name of the document image data. The processor extracts date information from the character strings included in the document image data and causes the extracted date information to be included in the file name to be displayed.

Video and corresponding metadata is accessed. Events of interest within the video are identified based on the corresponding metadata, and best scenes are identified based on the identified events of interest. A video summary can be generated including one or more of the identified best scenes. The video summary can be generated using a video summary template with slots corresponding to video clips selected from among sets of candidate video clips. Best scenes can also be identified by receiving an indication of an event of interest within video from a user during the capture of the video. Metadata patterns representing activities identified within video clips can be identified within other videos, which can subsequently be associated with the identified activities.

A system of automatically naming an electronic document may include a scanning device. The system may receive a physical document that is to be converted into an electronic document, perform optical character recognition on at least a portion of the physical document to identify one or more terms that are present in the physical document, and store the identified terms in the data store associated with the scanning device. The system may receive input from a user that includes one or more first characters and corresponds to a title of the electronic document. The system may identify one or more terms from the data store that correspond to the one or more first characters by querying the data store using the received input, and cause the identified terms to be displayed to the user via a display device of the scanning device as suggested document names for the electronic document.

A system and method for simplified scanning of tangible documents commences with scanning them into electronic documents on an MFP. The MFP controller generates a scan command indicia and commences a scan when it is selected by a user. A processor in the controller generates an electronic document file from the scan operation associatively with a scan folder file and generates scan folder file indicia on a display and electronic document indicia corresponding to each electronic document file in the scan folder. A user selects a document and specifies instructions for processing the document which is completed by the processor.
