SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SEGMENTATION OF ANATOMICAL STRUCTURES FOR IMAGE-GUIDED SURGERY
A method for image segmentation comprises receiving volumetric image data for an anatomical region and generating a first volumetric patch from the volumetric image data. The method also comprises generating a second volumetric patch from the first volumetric patch by weighting a plurality of volumetric units in the first volumetric patch and receiving the second volumetric patch as an input to a convolutional neural network. The method also comprises conducting a down-sampling filter process and conducting an up-sampling filter process within the convolutional neural network.
OCCLUSION-CROSSING DEVICES, ATHERECTOMY DEVICES, AND IMAGING
Described herein are methods for producing and identifying characteristic (“crescent shaped”) regions indicative of an atherectomy plaque within a vessel, and systems and devices adapted to take advantage of this characteristic region.
Procedural Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for Surgery and Related Methods
Methods are provided for performing a surgical procedure using optical coherence tomography (OCT) including extracting lenticular material from within a capsular bag of the eye of a patient; placing a replacement lens within the capsular bag after extraction of the lenticular material from the capsular bag; acquiring a plurality of OCT images that visualize the placement of the replacement lens within the capsular bag; and determining from the plurality of OCT images a degree of contact of the posterior surface of the replacement lens with the posterior portion of the capsular bag.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THERAPEUTIC NASAL NEUROMODULATION
The invention generally relates to systems and methods for therapeutically modulating nerves in or associated with a nasal region of a patient for the treatment of a rhinosinusitis condition.
EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL INTRAOPERATIVE OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY IMAGING FOR SUBRETINAL MATERIAL DELIVERY
A common-path swept source optical coherence tomography (CP-SSOCT) distal sensor guided manual injection system for transscleral subretinal injection and methods of use thereof for delivering one or more therapeutic agents, including genes, to a subretinal space of an eye is provided.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SEGMENTAL TRACKING
A segmental tracking method includes receiving first image data corresponding to a surgical site comprising at least one anatomical object, the first image data generated using a first imaging modality; receiving second image data corresponding to the surgical site, the second image data generating using a second imaging modality different than the first imaging modality; correlating a representation of the at least one anatomical object in the second image data to a representation of the at least one anatomical object in the first image data; and updating a digital model of the at least one anatomical object based on the correlation.
Methods and systems for optimizing perivascular neuromodulation therapy using computational fluid dynamics
Methods and systems for optimizing perivascular neuromodulation therapy using computational fluid dynamics. Digital data regarding three-dimensional imaging of a target blood vessel and corresponding hemodynamic data are inputs to generating a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model. The CFD model enables identification of one or more regions of the vessel suitable for neuromodulation therapy and/or identifying one or more regions of the vessel to avoid during such therapy. A system of the present technology can include a neuromodulation catheter, a computing device that can generate and analyze the CFD model, and a user interface for displaying the vessel with indicia for target regions and/or avoidance regions.
Device and Method for Identifying Anatomical Structures
A device is provided having a proximal portion and a distal portion. An ultrasound transducer is disposed within the distal portion, wherein the transducer is configured to scan tissue and detect certain portions of a patent's anatomy during the scanning process.
SYSTEMS FOR EVALUATING REGISTERABILITY OF ANATOMIC MODELS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
Devices, systems, methods, and computer program products for planning medical procedures are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a system for planning a medical procedure includes a processor and memory operably coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the system to perform operations including receiving a three-dimensional model of an anatomic region of a patient and evaluating whether the three-dimensional model is suitable for use in a registration procedure to be performed in the anatomic region. The evaluating includes: analyzing a span of the three-dimensional model along at least two different directions, determining whether the three-dimensional model includes at least one segmented component corresponding to at least one structure of the anatomic region, and performing a registration between the three-dimensional model and a virtual registration data set.
OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY AUGMENTED REALITY-BASED SURGICAL MICROSCOPE IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD
An optical coherence tomography (OCT) augmented reality-based surgical microscope imaging system and method. The system has a surgical microscope unit, an OCT unit, a guidance light source, a processing control unit, and a display unit. The surgical microscopic imaging system and method can accurately register and fuse the two-dimensional microscopic image and the OCT three-dimensional image, thereby implementing real-time enhancement of microscopic images in the surgical region, providing more intuitive navigation information for surgery, and realizing intuitive surgical guidance.
