Workflow of needle tip identification for biopsy documentation
An interventional instrument (16) is inserted into a patient (14) to perform an interventional medical procedure guided by a medical imaging device (10). A trigger control (26) is activated. An electronic data processing device (30) is programmed to operate the medical imaging device to: acquire and display video (50) of the interventional instrument (16) inserted into the patient; detect activation of the trigger control; in response to the detecting, process a video segment (54) of the acquired video to identify a trigger image (60) as a frame of the video segment capturing a medical intervention event performed by the interventional instrument and a location (62) of the medical intervention event in the identified trigger image; and display a still image of the identified trigger image with a superimposed marker (102) indicating the identified location of the medical intervention event.
IDENTIFICATION AND VISUALIZATION OF NON-NAVIGATED OBJECTS IN MEDICAL IMAGES
A method includes presenting to a user a three-dimensional (3D) map of at least part of an organ of a patient, the 3D map generated by a position-tracking system. An artificial object, which is non-trackable by the position-tracking system, is identified in a medical image of at least part of the organ. A graphical representation of the non-trackable artificial object is presented to the user on the 3D map.
Methods and systems for optimizing perivascular neuromodulation therapy using computational fluid dynamics
Methods and systems for optimizing perivascular neuromodulation therapy using computational fluid dynamics. Digital data regarding three-dimensional imaging of a target blood vessel and corresponding hemodynamic data are inputs to generating a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model. The CFD model enables identification of one or more regions of the vessel suitable for neuromodulation therapy and/or identifying one or more regions of the vessel to avoid during such therapy. A system of the present technology can include a neuromodulation catheter, a computing device that can generate and analyze the CFD model, and a user interface for displaying the vessel with indicia for target regions and/or avoidance regions.
Intravascular catheter for modeling blood vessels
A method of generating a 4D model includes capturing imagery of a catheter and a vessel as the catheter is directed through the vessel to a location of interest, wherein the catheter is disposed on a guidewire, constructing a 3D time varying reference curve describing a trajectory of the guidewire, and constructing a time varying 3D model of the artery using the reference curve.
TREATMENT OF THE REPRODUCTIVE TRACT WITH PULSED ELECTRIC FIELDS
Devices, systems and methods are provided for treating conditions of the reproductive tract. A number of conditions can afflict the lining and cell layers deeper within the anatomical structures. For example, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), also known as cervical dysplasia, is a condition involving abnormal growth of cells on the surface of the cervix that could potentially lead to cervical cancer in situ (CIS). Other conditions include human papillomavirus (HPV)-related cervical disease, various endometrial diseases, acute and chronic cervicitis, and various infections (e.g. trichomoniasis) to name a few. In some embodiments, treatments eliminate diseased, damaged, abnormal or otherwise undesired cells leaving the tissue framework intact. This allows the tissue to regenerate in a normal fashion, avoiding the formation of scar tissue. When the tissue framework is left intact, the framework structure repopulates with healthy cells, regenerating the normal tissue without altering the structural properties.
Systems, methods, and devices for registering and tracking organs during interventional procedures
Systems, methods, and devices are provided for assisting or performing guided interventional procedures using. The system uses pre-procedure scans of a patient's anatomy to identify targets and critical structures. A measurement device containing position indicating elements or fiducials is placed in a pre-existing or physician created conduit or lumen whose geometry is known from a scan. During a procedure, the pre-procedure scans may be registered to the patient using the position indicating elements or fiducials and the geometry of the conduit. This registration may be used in an intervention to guide instruments that can obtain diagnostic information or provide therapy to the identified targets. During the procedure, the position indicating elements may be used to dynamically compensate for motion to further improve accuracy.
Apparatus and methods relating to intravascular positioning of distal end of catheter
Systems and methods for navigation and positioning a central venous catheter within a patient. The system may include a first pole and a second pole designed to generate an electric field sufficient to obtain a plurality of field measurements. The system may include a stylet inserted into a medical device. The stylet may include a magnetic assembly configured to produce a magnetic field positioned along a distal portion of the stylet, and a stylet electrode positioned distal of the magnetic assembly. The stylet electrode may be designed to function as both an interior excitation electrode and an interior detection electrode. Advancement of the medical device in the patient may include using a conductance curve generated from the plurality of field measurements to identify an obstruction or malposition in the patient.
ULTRASOUND BASED THREE-DIMENSIONAL LESION VERIFICATION WITHIN A VASCULATURE
A catheter-based ultrasound imaging system configured to provide a full circumferential 360-degree view around an intra-vascular/intra-cardiac imaging-catheter-head by generating a three-dimensional view of the tissue surrounding the imaging-head over time. The ultrasound imaging system can also provide tissue-state mapping capability. The evaluation of the vasculature and tissue characteristics include path and depth of lesions during cardiac-interventions such as ablation. The ultrasound imaging system comprises a catheter with a static or rotating sensor array tip supporting continuous circumferential rotation around its axis, connected to an ultrasound module and respective processing machinery allowing ultrafast imaging and a rotary motor that translates radial movements around a longitudinal catheter axis through a rotary torque transmitting part to rotate the sensor array-tip. This allows the capture and reconstruction of information of the vasculature including tissue structure around the catheter tip for generation of the three-dimensional view over time.
Ablation treatment device sensor
A treatment device includes a unit having an ultrasound imaging element and an ablation electrode, mechanism for receiving signals from the imaging element, the signals representing plural frames of ultrasound data; and mechanism for processing the signals to provide, in use, at least one of ultrasound data and data indicating mechanical strains within tissue being monitored by the sensor element, the strains being generated by movement of the tissue or the body being treated, the movement being generated naturally by the tissue or by the device operator's motion, or both.
Devices and Methods for left atrial appendage closure
Closure devices and methods for ligating tissue, such as the left atrial appendage, generally, include an elongate body having a first lumen therethrough, a snare loop assembly, a vacuum tube, and an imaging device. The snare loop assembly may include a snare and a suture loop releasably coupled to the snare and may at least partially extend from a distal end of the elongate body. The vacuum tube may be slidably positioned within the first lumen to extend through the snare loop assembly. The imaging device may be disposed within the lumen of the vacuum tube.
