Cardiac cycle-based diagnostic systems and methods
In part, the disclosure relates to computer-based methods, and systems suitable for evaluating a cardiac system using a diagnostic metric such as a pressure value-based ratio. Selection of a subset or portion of a cardiac cycle is avoided in one embodiment to increase reliability and usability of a diagnostic ratio and parameters described herein. In one embodiment, a minimum or a relative extrema of a series of diagnostic metrics plotted on a per cycle basis are used to inform diagnosis of a stenosis or other intravascular event or phenomena.
Composite visualization of body part
In one embodiment, a body part visualization system includes a medical instrument configured to be inserted into a body part of a living subject, a display, and processing circuitry configured to compute location coordinates of the medical instrument in the body part, and render to the display a first three-dimensional (3D) representation of the body part, the first 3D representation showing an external surface of the body part with a moving window, which moves over the external surface in the first 3D representation responsively to the computed location coordinates of the medical instrument so as to provide, via the window, an internal view of the first 3D representation of the body part, the internal view including a second 3D representation of at least a part of the medical instrument at the computed location coordinates.
TRAJECTORY ALIGNMENT SYSTEM AND METHODS
The navigation systems and methods facilitate aligning a tool in relation to a trajectory in real-time to receive input data from a pre-operative plan image, at least one multi-modal image, and at least one real-time multi-modal image; interactively track at least one neural fiber, whereby interactively tracked fiber data is obtainable; automatically generate output data by way of data transformation using the input data and the interactively tracked neural fiber data; and transmit the output data to at least one of: at least one display device for rendering at least one real-time interactive navigation display for facilitating neural navigation, and at least one drive device for positioning at least one tracking device in relation to the tool in real-time, whereby real-time alignment data is achievable, and whereby at least one neurological structure is preservable.
Automated image-guided tissue resection and treatment
A system to treat a patient comprises a user interface that allows a physician to view an image of tissue to be treated in order to develop a treatment plan to resect tissue with a predefined removal profile. The image may comprise a plurality of images, and the planned treatment is shown on the images. The treatment probe may comprise an anchor, and the image shown on the screen may have a reference image marker shown on the screen corresponding to the anchor. The planned tissue removal profile can be displayed and scaled to the image of the target tissue of an organ such as the prostate, and the physician can adjust the treatment profile based on the scaled images to provide a treatment profile in three dimensions. The images shown on the display may comprise segmented images of the patient with treatment plan overlaid on the images.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRACKING ROBOTICALLY CONTROLLED MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS
Systems and methods are described herein for tracking an elongate instrument or other medical instrument in an image.
Apparatus and Methods Relating to Intravascular Positioning of Distal End of Catheter
Systems and methods for navigation and positioning a central venous catheter within a patient. The system may include a first pole and a second pole designed to generate an electric field sufficient to obtain a plurality of field measurements. The system may include a stylet inserted into a medical device. The stylet may include a magnetic assembly configured to produce a magnetic field positioned along a distal portion of the stylet, and a stylet electrode positioned distal of the magnetic assembly. The stylet electrode may be designed to function as both an interior excitation electrode and an interior detection electrode. Advancement of the medical device in the patient may include using a conductance curve generated from the plurality of field measurements to identify an obstruction or malposition in the patient.
Ultrasound based three-dimensional lesion verification within a vasculature
A catheter-based ultrasound imaging system configured to provide a full circumferential 360-degree view around an intra-vascular/intra-cardiac imaging-catheter-head by generating a three-dimensional view of the tissue surrounding the imaging-head over time. The ultrasound imaging system can also provide tissue-state mapping capability. The evaluation of the vasculature and tissue characteristics include path and depth of lesions during cardiac-interventions such as ablation. The ultrasound imaging system comprises a catheter with a static or rotating sensor array tip supporting continuous circumferential rotation around its axis, connected to an ultrasound module and respective processing machinery allowing ultrafast imaging and a rotary motor that translates radial movements around a longitudinal catheter axis through a rotary torque transmitting part to rotate the sensor array-tip. This allows the capture and reconstruction of information of the vasculature including tissue structure around the catheter tip for generation of the three-dimensional view over time.
Method for co-registering and displaying multiple imaging modalities
A method for processing angiography image data by using an imaging catheter path that is directly detected from the angiography data as a co-registration path or using detected marker locations from the angiography data to generate a co-registration path. If the acquired angiography data includes synchronized cardiac phase signals and a predetermined quantity of angiography image frames not including contrast media, then a directly detected imaging catheter path is used as the co-registration path. Otherwise the co-registration path is determined based upon detected marker locations from the angiography image data.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
An information processing device that assists understanding of an image acquired by an image acquisition catheter. The information processing device includes: an image acquisition unit that acquires a catheter image including an inner cavity obtained by an image acquisition catheter; a position information acquisition unit that acquires position information regarding a position of a medical instrument inserted into the inner cavity included in the catheter image; and a first data output unit that inputs the acquired catheter image and the acquired position information to a first trained model that, upon receiving input of the catheter image and the position information, outputs first data in which each region of the catheter image is classified into at least three of a biological tissue region, a medical instrument region where the medical instrument exists, and a non-biological tissue region, and outputs the first data.
