Physiological parameter system

A physiological parameter system has one or more parameter inputs responsive to one or more physiological sensors. The physiological parameter system may also have quality indicators relating to confidence in the parameter inputs. A processor is adapted to combine the parameter inputs, quality indicators and predetermined limits for the parameters inputs and quality indicators so as to generate alarm outputs or control outputs or both.

A portable urination weight measurement device comprising: a holding unit for releasably holding a container, and a handle comprising a weight measurement unit coupled to the holding unit so as to allow the measure of a weight exerted on the holding unit; and a toilet flushable container having: a rim having a fold at a front side of the opening and a fold at a back side of the opening, each fold forming at rest an angle of less than 20, and a collar secured to the rim and comprising at least one fold at the front side of the opening forming at rest an angle of less than 20, the collar being of a rigidity such that increasing the angle of the collar fold to 180 increases the angle of the rim fold at the back of the opening to from 50 to 90.

SENSOR APPLICATOR ASSEMBLY FOR CONTINUOUS GLUCOSE MONITORING SYSTEM

The present it relates to a sensor applicator assembly for a continuous glucose monitoring system and provides a sensor applicator assembly for a continuous glucose monitoring system, which is manufactured with a sensor module assembled inside an applicator, thereby minimizing additional work by a user for attaching the sensor module to the body and allowing the sensor module to be attached to the body simply by operating the applicator, and thus can be used more conveniently. A battery is built in the sensor module and a separate transmitter is connected to the sensor module so as to receive power supply from the sensor module and be continuously used semi-permanently, thereby making the assembly economical. The sensor module and the applicator are used as disposables, thereby allowing accurate and safe use and convenient maintenance.

A system and method to help maintain quality control and reduce cannibalization of accessories and attached probes in a highly sensitive patient monitor, such as a pulse oximetry system. One or more attached components may have information elements designed to designate what quality control mechanisms a patient monitor should look to find on that or another component or designate other components with which the one component may properly work. In a further embodiment, such information elements may also include data indicating the appropriate life of the component.

Device for collecting particles in an exhaled air flow
10898108 · 2021-01-26 · ·

The invention relates to a device for collecting aerosol particles in an exhaled air flow. Said particles may be aerosol particles such as biomarkers or particles related to drugs or other substances formed or found in the alveoli of the lungs. Said device comprises a housing having an extension direction between a first end with an inlet arranged to receive an exhaled air flow and a second end with an outlet arranged to transmit the exhaled air flow and an inner cross section defined by inner walls of the housing and at least four first type partition walls, arranged in a direction essentially perpendicular to the walls, partly covering the inner cross section of the housing. Said first type partition walls protrude from opposite sides of the inner wall of the housing creating opposite openings between the first type partition walls and the housing inner wall, whereby said first type partition walls are arranged to create a labyrinth shaped flow path from said inlet to said outlet which is arranged to divert the air flowing from the inlet towards the outlet in a direction towards opposite inner wall of the housing so that said particles separate from the air flow and attach on the device and wherein the distance between two opposite first type partition walls is smaller than the distance between the inner walls of the housing.

Pre-fabricated, on-demand interface for use in providing optical coupling between disposable and reusable members of a low coherence enhanced backscattering fiber-optic probe

A pre-fabricated, on-demand interface provides optical coupling between disposable and reusable portions of a fiber-optic probe. The interface uses a pre-cured, compressible optically-transmissive gel in a cavity of the disposable portion, which can be a disposable insertion tip of the fiber optic probe. The disposable portion includes an elongated housing, or sheath, and the cavity is located within and proximal of a distal end of the elongated housing. A proximal end of an optical assembly of the disposable portion is located within the cavity and contacts the gel. A first coupling, provided at a proximal end of the elongated housing, detachably couples to a mating, second coupling of the probe reusable portion. When the disposable and reusable portions are coupled together, the gel is compressed between the proximal end of the optical assembly of the disposable portion and a distal optical member of an optical assembly of the reusable portion.

SINGLE-USE SURGICAL INSTRUMENT

A single-use surgical instrument includes a break-away assembly configured to break when first and second housing halves of a handle assembly are separated for re-processing. In particular, the break-away assembly is configured to operatively support an actuation handle thereon such that damage to the break-away assembly inhibits proper actuation of the actuation handle, thereby rendering the surgical instrument inoperable.

WIRELESS, DISPOSABLE, EXTENDED USE PULSE OXIMETER APPARATUS AND METHODS

Apparatus and methods provide wireless, disposable, continuous pulse oximeter sensor technology, useful and beneficial for a number of applications including relatively extended periods of data collection, and/or packaged in compact and easy-to-use assemblies. Economic fabrication and use provides flexible methodologies that can reduce the overall costs of monitoring and collecting patient's physiological data, and provide relatively greater ease and comfort to the patient. A disposable wireless continuous pulse oximeter sensor has a reduced emitter-detector separation, a low-power frontend, and a low-cost processor that sends waveforms to a host device so that the host can calculate and display the parameters of interest. Complications created by the reduced distance between emitter and detector are minimized by using an emitter-detector assembly with an optically dark background, and a bandage for improved optical compliance.
