DENTAL IMPLANT HANDPIECE
Disclosed is a dental implant handpiece, comprising an implant handpiece body (1), and a drill bit (2) disposed on the implant handpiece body (1). The implant handpiece body (1) is further provided with an image collector disposed close to the drill bit (2) and configured to acquire images of locations in the vicinity of the drill bit (2) in an oral cavity. In a whole treatment process, a dentist is free of double-handed operation and only needs to hold the dental implant handpiece with one hand. During the treatment process, images near the drill bit (2) are acquired in real time, thus the treatment situation is controlled in real time when each treatment action is executed, and the position and angle of the drill bit (2) may be adjusted at any time according to the images acquired by the image collector.
Medical or dental device for determining the quality of a bone
A medical or dental device for determining a bone's quality by cutting a thread into the bone with a rotating threaded element comprises a control unit having a measurement circuit configured: (i) to determine values of the motor current via a first electrical contact device with which the motor drive is supplied for rotational drive of the threaded element that can be connected to the motor drive, the current values being a measure of the bone's quality; (ii) to monitor and/or to determine the penetration depth of the threaded element into the bone, and (iii) to generate measurement signals which show the relationship between the penetration depth and the determined current values or parameters derived therefrom, and to transmit these signals to a display unit, which displays the relationship between the determined current values or parameters derived therefrom, in particular the bone's quality, and the penetration depth.
Unitary cordless dental drive apparatus
The invention provides a unitary cordless dental drive apparatus in a first embodiment having a handpiece with a cantilever arm 18 extending outward and positioned to allow a dental nose cone 26 to be connected. An activating switch 20 is located at the free end of the cantilever arm 18 in a position that is convenient for manipulation by a user. In a second embodiment, a contactor 22 is mounted below the cantilever arm 18 to contact the nose cone 26 when pressed. In a third embodiment, a standard dental office foot pedal 90 is connected to a wireless transmitter 80 for sending a signal to a receiver 92 located within the handpiece 70 for activating the handpiece 70.
DENTAL DEVICE FOR REMOVING A PARTIALLY OR FULLY OSSEOINTEGRATED DENTAL IMPLANT
The present invention relates to a dental device (1) for removing a dental implant (2) which is at least partially or fully osseointegrated with a patient's jaw (3), comprising: a head portion (6) for rotatingly holding a dental tool (7) for unscrewing the dental implant (2); and a driving means for applying a torque to the dental tool (7) for unscrewing the dental implant (2); characterized in that the driving means is further adapted to apply pulsed torques (; .sub.1, .sub.2, .sub.3) to the dental tool (7) to unscrew the dental implant (2).
HANDPIECE ADAPTER FOR AN ENDODONTIC FILE
In some embodiments, the current invention relates to a method and/or system for using a standard dental handpiece for endodontic cleaning. For example, a dental adapter is disclosed having a fitting for a standard dental handpiece, a torque limiter and/or a mount for an endodontic file. For example, the adapter may be single use and/or multi use. In some embodiments, the mount includes the torque limiter. For example, an endodontic file may be connected to the mount with a friction fitting that allows rotation of the file with respect to the mount at high torque. Optionally the mount is positioned eccentrically with respect to the fitting.
Handheld device drive system
This invention relates to a drive system which automatically disengages when a loading above a certain threshold limit is applied to the driven component, thus preventing damage to the drive system and foremost to the gearing between the drive system and the driven component when such a load is applied.
Dental device with load-responsive motor control
A motor-driven dental device has a motor control that is responsive to a load placed upon the motor. More specifically, the invention relates to a dental device having motor that drives a tool, wherein the tool is activated or otherwise controlled in response to a load placed upon the motor through the tool, such as by touching the tool to a surface. The tool may also be controlled by the sustenance, over a predetermined time period, of an increase or decrease in motor current beyond a predetermined hysteresis current threshold. The motor may be an electric motor, a rotary electric motor, and air driven motor, an ultrasonic device or the like.

Torque Wrench for Implant Procedure
A torque wrench for an implant procedure is provided, wherein only a single torque wrench according to the present invention is necessary to first tighten a screw and finally firmly fasten the screw with a desired force or to first loosen the screw and finally completely remove the screw, even without the use of a separate hand driver. A torque wrench for an implant procedure includes: a first body part having a predetermined length, and including a head portion having an end to which a torque wrench driver bit is coupled; at least one second body part having a predetermined length, provided at one side of the first body part, and including a coupling portion formed in a longitudinal direction thereof; and a second shaft rotatably coupled to the coupling portion of the second body part, including a second gear provided at one end thereof and a knob provided at the other end thereof, and configured such that, in response to rotation of the knob, the second shaft transmits torque to the torque wrench driver bit through the first gear engaged with the second gear.
