ORTHODONTIC LIGATURE
An orthodontic ligature has a decorative member, a ligature member, and an optional sticker member. The decorative member is connected to the ligature member and extents over the ligature member. After the ligature is installed to a bracket, the decorative member can at least partially cover the bracket. The decorative member and/or the optional sticker member can be configured to have various colors, shapes, patterns, etc., so as to provide cosmetic, attractive, and/or protective effects.
Pre-fabricated ligature with variable friction
A pre-fabricated ligature with variable friction includes a ligature made of nitinol (1) with a rectangular outline similar to an O format, which has free ends (2) that can be deflected to meet the need for affixing of the arch wire (3) to the bracket (5), resulting in variable friction force.
Bracket System
A bracket system for orthodontic appliances including a bracket combinatorial library having a plurality of brackets each interchangeably fixedly mountable to each of a plurality of teeth within a dentition group in a dental arch, whereby the plurality of brackets can be configured to provide incremental variation in tipping force moments, in-out force moments, and torqueing force moments over the entire useful range of orthodontic mechanics, allowing an orthodontic practitioner to prescribe a combination of tipping force moments, in-out force moments, and torqueing force moments unique for each tooth in relation to the plurality of teeth of a patient.
CORRECTION DEVICE
An orthodontic appliance can easily achieve and ensure movement of correction target tooth row in a desired direction and achieve highly predictable treatment is provided while anchorage is satisfactorily ensured. A correction device includes a grip member formed to fit to an inner shape of an oral cavity of a patient so as to grip and cover a tooth row, gum parts, and alveolar bone parts of the patient. The correction device includes a first piece 20 covering an area extending from a crown part to a periphery of a cervical part of a correction target tooth and a second piece included in the grip member. The correction device further includes a force applying member 30 provided to connect the first piece 20 to the second piece 10 and configured to move the correction target tooth in a desired direction.
Orthodontic applicance with radiused wire slot
A set of orthodontic brackets is provided in combination with an archwire extending over an arc when fitted to the set of orthodontic brackets. The archwire has at least one radius of curvature over the length of its arc, and each one of said brackets in the set has an archwire slot. Each slot has at least one surface supporting the archwire which is contoured to have a radius of curvature that matches the radius of curvature along the arc of the archwire at that point. A round archwire is preferred and the archwire slots may be formed as tubular channels to provide better torque action for the archwire.
ORTHODONTIC BRACKET AND METHOD OF CORRECTING MALPOSITIONED TEETH
An orthodontic bracket includes a bracket body and a ligating member. The ligating member retains an archwire in an archwire slot and includes archwire control structure including projecting portions spaced apart in a mesial-distal direction with a recessed area therebetween. The recessed area and the projecting portions overlie the archwire slot. The recessed area may include a flat or a curved surface in a mesial-distal direction. The recessed area and projecting portions may define a radius of curvature that is less than the radius of curvature of the archwire seated in the slot. The archwire contacts one or both the projecting portions resulting in a larger moment arm and better rotational control of the bracket with the force applied by the archwire.
ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE AND ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT USING THE SAME
An orthodontic appliance, includes a crimpable tubular shaped portion having at least three walls selected from the group consisting of a lingual wall, a buccal or labial wall, an occlusal wall and a gingival wall, the at least three walls defining and opening configured to receive an archwire therethrough in a mesial-distal direction. The appliance includes at least one wing joined to the tubular shaped portion, the at least one wing extending longitudinally in the mesial-distal direction. A slot is provided in the at least one wing open to an end of the wing in the mesial or distal direction and having a depth in the mesial distal direction and a height in a gingival-occlusal direction configured to receive a ligature wire or elastic.
Orthodontic bracket and method of manufacturing the same
Disclosed is an orthodontic bracket and a method of manufacturing the same in which a bonding pattern is formed by irradiating a laser beam onto a base face of the orthodontic bracket that a machining process has been completed, and the bonding pattern formed on the base face is coated with an adhesive for attachment to teeth, thereby allowing the adhesive for attachment to teeth to firmly hold the orthodontic bracket on, and at the same time significantly reducing the processing time that takes to process the base surface for enabling for the adhesive to hold the orthodontic bracket on thereby enabling the mass production of the orthodontic bracket of high quality.
ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE
Various embodiments of an orthodontic appliance are provided. In one embodiment, an orthodontic appliance is provided, the appliance comprising: a body; at least one ring-shaped member connected to the body via at least one connecting portion; wherein the body and the at least one ring-shaped member are oriented adjacent to one another; and wherein the body and the at least one ring-shaped member are not coplanar when in an unloaded state.
ORTHODONTIC LIGATURE
A ligature made of superelastic material, and configured to fit around an orthodontic bracket. The ligature forms a closed loop, and is configured to fit around an orthodontic bracket and be retained around the orthodontic bracket based on a superelastic effect of the material of the ligature. The ligature may be configured such that in a pre-mounting state, a perimeter of loop is the same as perimeter of the loop in the mounted state, and in the pre-mounting state, a distance between the occlusal portion and the gingival portion and/or a distance between the mesial portion and the distal portion is different than in the mounted state.
