USING AN INTRAORAL MIRROR WITH AN INTEGRATED CAMERA TO RECORD DENTAL STATUS, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
Disclosed embodiments integrate a camera into an intraoral mirror. Integrating a camera into an intraoral mirror provides an efficient way to record and display what is visible to the healthcare provider in the mirror.
FOCUS SCANNING APPARATUS RECORDING COLOR
Disclosed are a scanner system and a method for recording surface geometry and surface color of an object where both surface geometry information and surface color information for a block of the image sensor pixels at least partly from one 2D image recorded by the color image sensor. A particular application is within dentistry, particularly for intraoral scanning.
DIGITAL SCAN BODY ALIGNMENT USING LIBRARY DATA
A system for intraoral scanning comprises a scanner to generate image data of a dental site and a computer readable medium. The computer readable medium includes instructs that, when executed by a processing device, cause the processing device receive a selection of library data for a reference object from library data for a plurality of reference objects in a library, receive the image data generated by the intraoral scanner, the image data comprising a representation of a dental site comprising the reference object, and align the library data for the reference object with the image data.
Foreign object identification and image augmentation for intraoral scanning
In a method of generating a virtual 3D model of a dental site, scan data comprising a plurality of images of a dental site is received during an intraoral scan. An analysis of an image is performed. A representation of a reference object with known properties is identified in the image based on the analysis. A virtual 3D model of the dental site is generated based on the plurality of images. The image and/or the virtual 3D model of the dental site is modified by adding additional data about the reference object to the intraoral image and/or the virtual 3D model based on the one or more known properties of the reference object. If the image is modified, it may be modified prior to generation of the virtual 3D model, and the virtual 3D model may be generated using the modified image.
Color-based foreign object filtering for intraoral scanning
In a method of generating a virtual 3D model of a dental site, scan data comprising an intraoral image is received during an intraoral scan of a dental site. A representation of a foreign object is identified in the intraoral image based on a color analysis of the scan data. The intraoral image is modified by removing the representation of the foreign object from the intraoral image. Additional scan data comprising a plurality of additional intraoral images of the dental site is received during the intraoral scan. A 3D surface of the dental site is then generated using the modified intraoral image and the plurality of additional intraoral images.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DIGITAL SCAN BODY ALIGNMENT
A system for intraoral scanning comprises a scanner to generate image data of a dental site and a computing device. The computing device receives the image data of the dental site, the image data comprising a representation of the dental site and a representation of a reference object at the dental site. The computing device selects library data for the reference object from library data for a plurality of reference objects in a library. The computing device aligns the library data for the reference object with the image data.
Control of light sources on an intraoral mirror with an integrated camera
Disclosed embodiments integrate a camera into an intraoral mirror. Integrating a camera into an intraoral mirror provides an efficient way to record and display what is visible to the healthcare provider in the mirror.
Foreign object filtering for intraoral scanning
In a method of generating a virtual 3D model of a dental site, scan data comprising an intraoral image is received during an intraoral scan of a dental site. A representation of a foreign object is identified in the intraoral image based on an analysis of the scan data. The intraoral image is modified by removing the representation of the foreign object from the intraoral image. Additional scan data comprising a plurality of additional intraoral images of the dental site is received during the intraoral scan. A virtual 3D model of the dental site is then generated using the modified intraoral image and the plurality of additional intraoral images.
PRIORITIZATION OF THREE DIMENSIONAL DENTAL ELEMENTS
The present disclosure includes methods, systems, and devices for prioritization of three dimensional dental elements. One method for prioritizing three dimensional dental elements includes receiving a virtual initial dental data set (IDDS) of teeth having spatial information regarding the positions of a number of teeth in the virtual IDDS with respect to each other for presentation of the teeth in a virtual three dimensional space to be viewed on a user interface, setting prioritization values of a number of elements of one or more of the number of teeth, and prioritizing the number of elements to be selected by a user based upon their prioritization values.
Method for performing an optical three-dimensional recording
The invention relates to a method for performing an optical three-dimensional recording by using hand-held dental camera. The camera automatically records a plurality of individual optical recordings in succession at a defined frequency during the measurement. The individual three-dimensional optical recordings are combined into an overall recording of a dental object to be measured and before the measurement is performed, a three-dimensional standard jaw model is displayed using a display device and a first control point on the standard jaw model is displayed using the display device. The hand-held dental camera is then positioned in relation to the object to be recorded in such a way that the camera points at the first control point of the standard jaw model and records a corresponding recording region of the dental object.
