The first paddle and the second paddle are configured to move between a closed position and an open position. The spacer is disposed between the first paddle and the second paddle. The first gripping member is disposed between the first paddle and the spacer. The second gripping member is disposed between the second paddle and the spacer. The first paddle and the first gripping member are configured to capture a first native valve leaflet. The second paddle and the second gripping member are configured to capture a second native valve leaflet.
APPARATUS FOR USE IN REPAIRING MITRAL VALVES AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
Apparatus for repairing a heart valve and methods for implanting anchors and repairing a heart valve are provided. The apparatus comprises a body, a member attached to the body at a first end and having a plurality of positioning cords spaced laterally across the member and extending away from a second end of the member opposed to the first end, a tube suspended from the plurality of positioning cords, and an adjustment cord extending through the tube. The method comprises implanting at least one annular anchor in a mitral annulus of the heart valve, implanting a papillary anchor through each papillary muscle of the heart, delivering and positioning an apparatus for repairing a heart valve inside the heart valve using the at least one annular anchor and the papillary anchors, and adjusting the apparatus to adjust the extent of atrial displacement of the heart's mitral leaflets during ventricular contraction.
HEART VALVE SEALING DEVICES AND DELIVERY DEVICES THEREFOR
An device for treating a native valve includes a sealing element and an anchoring element. The sealing element is made from a braided mesh material. The sealing element is dimensioned to be deployed in an annulus of a native valve of a heart at a position between native valve leaflets to contact the native valve leaflets during ventricular systole to create a seal to prevent regurgitation of blood from the left ventricle to the left atrium. The sealing element is configured to both be radially expanded and radially reduced while at the position between the native valve leaflets. The anchoring element is adapted for deployment in the heart, the anchoring element coupled to the sealing element and configured to support the sealing element at the desired position between native valve leaflets.
Devices, Systems, and Methods for a Heart-Valve Annulus Reinforcer
Devices, systems, and methods for heart-valve annulus repair techniques, comprising a reinforcing device with one or both of a heating mechanism or clamping mechanism. The heating mechanism may function by heating a localized portion of the annulus so as to reduce the circumference of the annulus and/or increase the stiffness of the tissue. The clamping mechanism may function by gathering or pinching an area of tissue to then reduce the circumference of the annulus and/or increase the stiffness of the tissue.
Device for Heart Repair
A catheter device is described. The device is for implanting a leaflet anchor (10) into the heart as part of a procedure for implanting an artificial chordae line (14). The catheter device comprises: a leaflet anchor (10) for attachment to the leaflet (12) of the heart; and a leaflet anchor deployment mechanism (6), (30), (38) for deploying the leaflet anchor (10). The leaflet anchor deployment mechanism (6), (30), (38) allows for retraction and repositioning of the leaflet anchor (10) after deployment of the anchor (10) into the leaflet (12) via an ejector unit (36) having a grasping device (50) with a first configuration arranged to permit deployment of the leaflet anchor (10) into the leaflet (12) without disengagement of the leaflet anchor (10) from the ejector unit (34), and a second configuration in which the leaflet anchor (10) is reversibly released from the ejector unit (36). In the first configuration the grasping device (50) of the ejector unit (36) grasps a proximal end of the leaflet anchor (10), whilst a distal end of the leaflet anchor (10) is unimpeded by the grasping device (50) to enable it to be implanted in the leaflet (12). In the second configuration the grasping device (50) is disengaged from the leaflet anchor (10).
Valve repair devices for repairing a native valve of a patient
An implantable prosthetic device has a coaption element and at least one anchor. The coaption element is configured to be positioned within the native heart valve orifice to help fill a space where the native valve is regurgitant and form a more effective seal. The coaption element can have a structure that is impervious to blood. The coaption element can be connected to leaflets of the native valve by the anchor.
PERCUTANEOUS REPAIR OF MITRAL PROLAPSE
A mitral valve leaflet repair system may include a delivery catheter having at least one lumen extending proximally from a distal end of the delivery catheter, a plurality of anchor elements disposed within the at least one lumen, each of the plurality of anchor elements being configured to extend through one layer of mitral valve leaflet tissue, and a securing element configured to secure at least two of the plurality of anchor elements together on one side of the mitral valve leaflet tissue. The at least one lumen may include a suction lumen configured to grasp a mitral valve leaflet prior to extending the plurality of anchor elements through one layer of mitral valve leaflet tissue.
TISSUE GRASPING DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS
A clip for immobilizing leaflets of a cardiac or venous valve includes a hub having a pair of tangle resistant spring-biased outer arms coupled to an inferior end of the hub and a pair of tangle resistant spring-biased inner arms adjacent to the outer arms and coupled to a superior end of the hub. A delivery catheter may be used to position the valve clip adjacent a target valve while the outer and inner arms are biased in an opened position relative to each other. After the valve leaflets are located between the opened outer and inner arms, the biasing forces may be released to allow the clip to self-close the clip over the valve leaflets.

PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE
Described embodiments are directed toward centrally-opening leaflet prosthetic valve devices having a leaflet frame and a leaflet construct including one or more leaflets. In some examples, the leaflet construct is coupled to the leaflet frame via a retention element. In some examples, the retention element is in the form of an outer frame that is coaxially arranged with the leaflet frame.
