HEART VALVE LEAFLET REPLACEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAME
20170258589 · 2017-09-14 ·

A prosthetic heart valve for treatment of a diseased heart valve having native anterior and posterior leaflets that move between an open configuration and a closed position to regulate blood flow through the heart valve during a cardiac cycle of a heart. The prosthetic heart valve having a crescent shaped stent, at least one prosthetic leaflet mounted on an inner surface of the stent, and at least one prong structure coupling a portion of the at least one prosthetic leaflet to a lower ventricular portion of the stent frame. The prosthetic heart valve further having systems for anchoring the upper flared portion of the stent to a posterior portion of the native valve annulus.

HEART VALVE REPAIR

A heart valve repair system includes an implantable device and a connector. The implantable device is configured to attach to at least two leaflets of a native heart valve of a patient and hold the at least two leaflets in a relatively fixed position. The connector is separate from the implantable device and includes first and second tissue anchors. The connector is configured to be attached to the at least two leaflets of the native valve when the at least two leaflets are held by the implantable device in the relatively fixed position. The implantable device is configured to be detached from the at least two leaflets and removed from the patient with the connector remaining attached to the at least two leaflets.

ANNULOPLASTY RING WITH POSTERIOR LEAFLET FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE TREATMENT

An annuloplasty ring is disclosed. The annuloplasty ring includes an outer tube, a plurality of anchors, and at least one synthetic leaflet. The synthetic leaflets are in mechanical communication with the annuloplasty ring at a plurality of points. The outer tube includes a plurality of windows. The plurality of anchors are positioned inside the outer tube and about a perimeter of the outer tube. The plurality of anchors are configured to be emitted from the plurality of windows in order to anchor the annuloplasty ring to a heart valve of a patient.

METHODS, SYSTEMS AND DEVICES FOR CARDIAC VALVE REPAIR

Disclosed are methods, systems, and devices for the endovascular repair of cardiac valves, particularly the atrioventricular valves which inhibit back flow of blood from a heart ventricle during contraction. The procedures described herein can be performed with interventional tools, guides and supporting catheters and other equipment introduced to the heart chambers from the patient's arterial or venous vasculature remote from the heart. The interventional tools and other equipment may be introduced percutaneously or may be introduced via a surgical cut down, and then advanced from the remote access site through the vasculature until they reach the heart.

PROSTHETIC VALVE WITH EXPANDABLE FRAME AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Aspects of the disclosure relate to prosthetic valves having a frame, a frame cover, and a leaflet construct. Some aspects are directed to a diametric taper for the prosthetic valve for achieving enhanced performance of the prosthetic valve under operational conditions, enhanced compressibility and delivery characteristics, and other additional or alternative advantages. Other aspects are directed toward unique assembly and attachment methods for securing leaflet constructs to support structures. Other aspects are directed toward features for interacting with transcatheter delivery systems. Still other aspects are directed to such apparatuses, systems, and methods for valve replacement, such as cardiac valve replacement.

Heart valve sealing devices and delivery devices therefor

An exemplary valve repair device for repairing a native valve of a patient includes: a strip of material; a coaption element formed from the strip of material; a collar connected to the coaption element; and a pair of paddles formed from the strip of material and connected to the coaption element. The paddles are movable between an open position and a closed position and are configured to attach to the native valve of the patient.

DEVICE FOR CARDIAC VALVE REPAIR AND METHOD OF IMPLANTING THE SAME

A device for cardiac valve repair, the device comprising: a stent adapted to anchor to at least one tissue site, the tissue site located upstream with respect to a heart valve of a patient; and a neo-leaflet arranged to extend from the upstream anchoring means, the neo-leaflet comprising a free end, wherein the neo-leaflet is operable to extend across the heart valve via a commissure in between two heart valve leaflets of the patient's heart and locate the free end downstream from the heart valve and the neo-leaflet operable to coapt with the heart valve leaflets of the patient's heart to prevent and/or minimize a backflow of blood. The present invention is suitable for the treatment of heart valves using minimally invasive approaches. Additionally, the present invention is directed to a method of implanting a device for cardiac valve repair in a patient's heart.

Devices and methods for repairing a regurgitant heart valve are provided. A blocking component is fastened to a regurgitant valve such that the blocking component situates within the aperture of a regurgitant valve to mitigate the backflow across the valve. A variety of blocking components, fasteners, and delivery systems are described.

PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE

This disclosure relates generally to prosthetic valves and methods and systems for deploying, positioning, and recapturing the same. A prosthetic valve includes one or more support structures. At least one of the one or more support structures defines an elongate central passageway of the prosthetic valve. The prosthetic valve can also include a plurality of leaflet elements attached to at least one of the one or more support structures and disposed within the elongate central passageway for control of fluid flow through the elongate central passageway. At least one of the one or more support structures is configured to biodynamically fix the prosthetic valve within a native valve such as, for example, a native tricuspid valve of a heart.
