Optical relay, optical relay control method, and optical transmission system
The optical relay is a C+L-band relay which is inserted between a first transmission path fiber and a second transmission path fiber, and comprises: a first optical fiber amplification unit which is inserted in a first line and amplifies one of a C-band signal or an L-band signal; a second optical fiber amplification unit which is inserted in a second line and amplifies one of the C-band signal or the L-band signal; and an inserting means which inserts some or all of the wavelengths of light output from the first optical fiber amplification unit into the second optical fiber amplification unit, or which inserts some or all of the wavelengths of light output from the second optical fiber amplification unit into the first optical fiber amplification unit.
Optical amplification device and light amplification method
The de-multiplexing unit 2 de-multiplexes an inputted optical wavelength multiplexed signal into a first optical wavelength multiplexed signal having a first wavelength band and a second optical wavelength multiplexed signal having a second wavelength band in a longer wavelength band than the first wavelength band. The first optical amplifier 3 amplifies the first optical wavelength multiplexed signal. The second optical amplifier 4 amplifies the second optical wavelength multiplexed signal. The multiplexer 5 multiplexes the amplified first optical wavelength multiplexed signal and the amplified second optical wavelength multiplexed signal and outputs the multiplexed signal to a Raman amplifier 6. The first optical amplifier 3 adjusts the amplification rate of the first optical wavelength multiplexed signal so that the intensity of light in the second wavelength band is compensated for by the Raman effect in the Raman amplifier 6.
WIDE GAIN BANDWIDTH C-BAND OPTICAL FIBER AMPLIFIER
A fiber amplifier that is particularly configured to provide gain across a large extent of the C-band spectral range (i.e., a gain bandwidth of at least 42 nm, preferably within the range of 46-48 nm) utilizes a specially-designed discrete Raman amplifier in combination with a high inversion level EDFA to extend the gain bandwidth of a conventional EDFA C-band optical amplifier, while maintaining the gain ripple below an acceptable value. The EDFA provides operation at a highly-inverted level and the specialized discrete Raman amplifier (sDRA) element has particular parameters (dispersion, length, effective area) selected to maintain operation within a “small gain” regime while also extending the long wavelength edge of the gain bandwidth and reducing the gain ripple attributed to the EDFA component.
OPTICAL REPEATER, TRANSMISSION PATH FIBER MONITORING METHOD, AND OPTICAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
An optical repeater is a C+L-band repeater inserted between a first transmission path fiber and a second transmission path fiber. The optical repeater includes: a first optical fiber amplifier inserted in a first line, for amplifying a C-band signal; a second optical fiber amplifier inserted in a second line, for amplifying an L-band signal; a third optical fiber amplifier inserted in a third line, for amplifying a C-band signal; a fourth optical fiber amplifier inserted in a fourth line, for amplifying an L-band signal; and a first loopback means provided between an input to the first optical fiber amplifier or an output from the first optical fiber amplifier and an input to the third optical fiber amplifier or an output from the third optical fiber amplifier.
Optical amplification system
An optical amplification system includes: a first amplification module configured to amplify at least a conventional band (C band) optical signal; a second amplification module configured to amplify a longer wavelength band (L band) optical signal; an attenuator configured to attenuate at least the C band optical signal to obtain a first optical signal and a second optical signal, where the attenuator is further configured to output the first optical signal to the second amplification module and output the second optical signal to a wavelength division multiplexing module, which is configured to combine and output the C band optical signal and the L band optical signal.
Integrated component for an optical amplifier
An optical device may include a package having a first port for receiving signal light, a source for providing pump light, a combiner for combining the signal light and the pump light into combined light, a second port for sending the combined light, a third port for receiving amplified light, and a free-space optical system for filtering amplified signal light from the amplified light, and a fourth port for sending the amplified signal light. The free-space optical system may include beam shaping optics that enlarge a beam size of the amplified light prior to the filtering.
OPTICAL MODULE AND ERBIUM-DOPED FIBER AMPLIFIER
An optical module includes an optical fiber component, a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) filter, at least one isolator, a mirror and an optical detecting component. The optical fiber component, the WDM filter, the at least one isolator, the mirror and the optical detecting component are configured to prevent a signal light which is before an EDF component and an amplified signal light after the EDF component from counter transmission with a simplified structure and compact size.

Optical Amplifier Using a Single Input Pump Laser and Having a Switchable Gain Range for Fiber-Optic Communication
An optical amplifier includes two amplifier stages, a circulator and an output stage. The first amplifier stage amplifies an input optical signal, and provides a first-stage amplified optical signal that is to be outputted via the circulator to the second amplifier stage. The second amplifier stage amplifies the first-stage amplified optical signal, and outputs a second-stage amplified optical signal to the output stage. The output stage outputs a returned optical signal to the second amplifier stage, so that the second amplifier stage amplifies the returned optical signal, and provides a third-stage amplified optical signal that is to be outputted via the circulator and the output stage to serve as an output optical signal.
Optical Amplifier Assembly And Detection Method For Dynamically Executable Optical Time-Domain Reflection Detection
An optical amplifier assembly and a detection method capable of dynamically performing optical time-domain reflection detection. The detection method comprises obtaining signal light intensity detection signals from a first and second photodetectors and sending a control signal to an L-band Raman pump when it is determined that the signal light intensity in the second photodetector is lower than a first preset threshold, so that the L-band Raman pump enters into an optical time-domain reflection detection mode; sending a control signal to the L-band Raman pump when the signal light intensity in the second photodetector is greater than or equal the first preset threshold, so that the L-band Raman pump enters into an L-Band Raman optical fiber amplifier operation mode.
