Hip Joint Device
The disclosed medical device comprises an elongated portion adapted to at least partially replace the collum femur wherein said elongated portion is adapted to be at least one of integrated in and connected to a prosthetic spherical portion adapted to replace the caput femur, and wherein said prosthetic spherical portion in turn is adapted to be movably placed in a prosthetic replacement for the acetabulum having at least one extending portion for clasping said prosthetic spherical portion. Further, the elongated portion comprises a restricting portion adapted to restrict the motion range of the spherical portion in relation to said prosthetic replacement for the acetabulum, and wherein said restricting portion of said elongated portion comprises at least one recess adapted to receive a portion of said prosthetic artificial acetabulum, when implanted, to enable an advantageous motion range in relation to said prosthetic replacement for the acetabulum.
IMPROVED PROSTHESIS COMPONENT, SO-CALLED LINER, FOR AN ACETABULAR OR GLENOID CUP
The invention concerns an improved prosthesis component (1), for example an acetabular or glenoid cup (2) of an orthopedic prosthesis (12) or a liner constrained inside the cup (2) and intended to receive a spherical joint (4, 5) of an artificial femoral or humeral head (10), said component being substantially hemispherical-shaped with a base (6) defining the lower edge of the liner (1). Advantageously, according to the invention, the insert or liner (1) comprises a lip (8) projecting beyond the base (6); in other words, the lip (8) projects beyond the equatorial line of the hemispherical form of the liner (1) partially occupying the missing hemisphere of the hemispherical form to define an undercut edge, as well as an extended portion (20) of said lip (8) by at least one tract of said base (6) in order to receive and hold a dual-mobility head in the spherical segment (9) inside the component (1, 1).
LINE OF DUAL MOBILITY JOINT IMPLANT SYSTEMS
A line of joint implant systems includes an implant including a cup to be affixed in one of the elements of the considered joint, defining a smooth inner cavity of substantially hemispherical shape. The implant also includes an insert, mobile within the inner cavity of the fixation cup and having its smooth outer surface intended to cooperate by ball-and-socket joint with the inner cavity, and defining in turn a smooth inner cavity of substantially hemispherical shape. The implant further includes a head or ball, solid with a second element of the joint, of spherical shape, intended to be received in the inner cavity of the mobile insert and to form a second ball-and-socket joint. The ratio of the inner diameter of the inner cavity of the fixation cup to the inner diameter of the inner cavity of the mobile insert is constant, whatever the diameter of the selected ball.
Dual mobility acetabular cup assembly for artificial hip joint
An implant for an artificial hip joint and, more specifically, a dual mobility acetabular cup assembly for an artificial hip joint is configured to have improved locking mechanism between a liner and a shell and improved resistance to micromotion and to guide the liner into the shell with proper orientation by providing stable liner-shell fastening structure to the acetabular cup assembly.
Constrained dual mobility hip prosthesis
A system includes a constrained acetabular insert, a dual mobility liner, and a femoral head. The constrained acetabular insert has its perimeter extending beyond hemisphere and the dual mobility liner has its perimeter extending beyond hemisphere and configured to tilt and rotate within the constrained acetabular insert. The femoral head is configured to tilt and rotate within the dual mobility liner. The constrained acetabular insert may include a plurality of tabs and the dual mobility liner may include screw threads for receiving the plurality of tabs.
Set of surgical instruments for an artificial hip joint implant
A set of surgical instruments for an artificial hip joint implant and, more specifically, a set of improved surgical instruments, can be used in direct anterior approach hip replacement surgery and are capable of minimizing damage, such as muscle damage, which may arise during surgery, by resolving problems that existing surgical instruments possess.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR JOINT REPLACEMENT
A prosthesis including a hemiarthroplasty cup including an inner surface shaped and sized to accommodate a reamed or unreamed femoral head outer surface, and an outer surface shaped and sized to accommodate a reamed or unreamed acetabulum outer surface of an acetabulum socket, wherein the hemiarthroplasty cup is configured to maintain allowance of articulation of the femoral head outer surface and the acetabulum socket relative to the hemiarthroplasty cup after implantation.
HIP JOINT INSTRUMENT AND METHOD
The present invention relates to a method of treating a hip joint of a human patient, the hip joint comprising an acetabulum, the acetabulum being a part of the pelvic bone, and a caput femur, the caput femur being the proximal part of the femoral bone, said method comprising the steps of: cutting the skin of the human patient, dissecting an area of the pelvic bone on the opposite side from the acetabulum, creating a hole in said dissected area, said hole passing through the pelvic bone and into the hip joint of the human patient, and performing an action in the hip joint, through said hole in the pelvic bone.
Frictionless hip joint
An orthopedic prosthesis includes a proximal member which internally accommodates the major motion of a patient, e.g., during walking, thereby reducing wear against a cup or liner. A distal member may be utilized which rotates within a proximal member about an axis aligned with the major motion of the patient. The orthopedic prosthesis may also include a head and neck, the neck being rotatably mounted within the head, the head being rotatably mounted within the acetabulum region of a patient.
Method and device for joint replacement
A method of joint replacement including forming one or more arthroscopy portals adjacent a hip joint that includes, a femur with a femoral head and a pelvis with an acetabulum socket, inserting a hemiarthroplasty cup, having a cup inner surface and a cup outer surface, between a femoral head outer surface of the femoral head and an acetabulum outer surface of the acetabulum socket, wherein at least one of the femoral head outer surface and the acetabulum outer surface are unreamed.
